You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.—Jim Carrey

jim

  • My soul is not contained within the limits of my body. My body is contained within the limitlessness of my soul.
  • I’ve often said that I wished people could realize all their dreams of wealth and fame so they could see that it’s not where you’ll find your sense of completion
  • I can tell you from experience, the effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is.
  • Life doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you.
  • Why not take a chance on faith as well? Take a chance on faith — not religion, but faith. Not hope, but faith. I don’t believe in hope. Hope is a beggar. Hope walks through the fire. Faith leaps over it.

You have to trust in something–your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever–because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path, and that will make all the difference.—Steve Jobs

jobs

Steve Jobs

  •  Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work, and the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking, and don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it, and like any great relationship it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking. Don’t settle.
  • Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important thing I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life, because almost everything–all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure–these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
  • Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice, and most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
  • Stay hungry, stay foolish.

Follow your passion, stay true to yourself.—Ellen DeGeneres

ellen

  • But my idea of success is different today. For me, the most important thing in your life is to live your life with integrity and not to give into peer pressure to try to be something that you’re not. To live your life as an honest and compassionate person, to contribute in some way.
  • Some of the most devastating things that happen to you will teach you the most.

Empathy tears down barriers and it opens up whole new frontiers for optimism. —Melinda Gates

gates

  • Let your heart break. It will change what you do with your optimism.
  • Optimism for me isn’t a passive expectation that things will get better; it’s a conviction that we can make things better—that whatever suffering we see, no matter how bad it is, we can help people if we don’t lose hope and we don’t look away.
