I am/feel bored.

(X) I am boring.

Pauline: I’m so bored.
Pauline:
Jessie: How can you possibly feel bored? You have every movie, TV show or book ever made on your smartphone!
Pauline: Good point.
Pauline:
Jessie: If you think you’re bored now, think how bored people in the olden days were.
Pauline: What entertainment did they even have back then?
Pauline:
Jessie: Just drinking, dancing and music …
Jessie:
Pauline: Doesn’t seem too bad actually.
Pauline:

(This is How to Do Things You Don’t Want to Do)

I am excited! / I can’t wait!

(X) I am exciting.

另外,你也可以說 I can’t wait!

Andrew: I’m so excited! The Olympics are finally here!
Andrew:
John: I can’t wait to see the equestrian events.
John:
Andrew: I’ve always wondered, do the horses also get a medal? And do they have to be the same nationality as the rider?
John: I dunno … do horses even have a nationality?
John:
Andrew: Maybe they have their own countries that we don’t know about.
Andrew:

I feel so hyped. / I am hyped up.

(X) I am high.

This concert is dope, I feel so hyped!

Fred: I’m hyped up for the new football season. I can’t wait!
Fred:
Cilla: Why?
Cilla:
Fred: I’m feeling so hyped about our new players. This year is going to be our year.
Fred:
Cilla: You say that every year.
Cilla:
Fred: This year is going to be different.
Fred:
Cilla: I wouldn’t get excited. They’ll probably just suck like they do every season.

It’s awful. / It sucks. / It’s so bad.

(X) It is suck.

Mark: I was thinking of going to see that new Scorsese movie.
Jeff: Don’t bother.
Jeff:
Mark: Why not?
Mark: 為何?
Jeff: It sucks.
Jeff:
Mark: Is it really that bad?
Mark:
Jeff: It’s awful. It’s so bad. Three-and-a-half hours long and nothing happens.
Jeff:

(Why Being Lonely Is Crucial For Survival)

I really like it. / I like it very much. / I like it a lot. / I love it.

(X) I very like it.

Stacy: Have you heard the new Neil Young album?
Pollie: Not yet; is it any good?
Pollie:
Stacy: I really like it, but I’m not sure it will be to everybody’s taste.
Stacy:
Pollie: He does have a very unique voice. People either love it or hate it. I like his album “Harvest.”
Stacy: I didn’t like “Harvest” very much. To be honest, it sucked. But “Nebraska” is one of my favorites.
Pollie: That’s Bruce Springsteen you idiot.

I don’t like it either. / It’s not my thing either.

(X) I don’t like it too.

I don’t like it too. I don’t like it either. 。 It’s not my thing either.

Les: Let’s take the MRT. I refuse to take the bus.
Les:
Harry: Yeah, buses aren’t my thing either. You never know what the traffic is like.
Les: I don’t like that the driver can just go wherever he wants.
Les:
Harry: Yeah I don’t like that either … wait what?
Harry:
Les: What if he goes crazy and decides he’s going to drive to say … another country?
Les:
Harry: Has that ever happened?
Harry:
Les: Well … no. But the point is it could. Not on the MRT though.
Les:

I like to dance. / I like dancing. / I enjoy dancing.

(X) I like dance. / I enjoy to dance.

所以如果說我喜歡跳舞,要說 I like to dance. 或是 I like dancing.

Will: What’s your plans for the weekend?
Trevor: I think some of us are going to that new nightclub. Do you want to come?
Will: I like to dance, but I don’t really like that type of music.
Trevor: I enjoy dancing to any type of music–so long as it’s good!
Trevor:
Will: Ah no, I’m different. I like dancing, but only to specific genres.

I am (very) into…、I am a fan of…、 I am interested in…

Adam: Recently, I have gotten into writing fiction.
Adam:
Betty: Can I read your stuff? I am a fan of novels!
Betty:
Adam: If you are interested, I would be happy to make you my first reader!

Adam:
