BIG T: What the hell? I think we need to talk, fellas. NARRATOR: As gator season reaches its peak, hunters across the bayou are racing to fill tags with giant monsters. And in Bayou Crook Chene, veteran swamper Daniel Edgar and his deckhand, Big T are starting their day in an Edgar family favorite hunting spot. BIG T: What's this? Look at the pink flags. I don't know nobody that's fishing pink flags. Somebody's got some lines in here, T. This is our property. Whoever these guys are, they're trespassing. Their lines are in the wrong place. I don't know if he's really poaching, or it's just an honest mistake. But I'm going to find out, quick, and I'll know how to deal with him. Line down, bro. Hopefully we got a big boy on here. Oh yeah. Banks all tore up. That's a good sign, dude. Fingers crossed. BROCK: It goes back and to the right. AARON: You see it? BROCK: Yeah, it goes back that way. Don't be scared. BROCK: The line goes around at you to the right. Watch yourself. T, I see 'em over there. They-- BIG T: Ooh. We should go. Let's go. DANIEL EDGAR: No. Wait, wait, wait. They're just about to the bait. BROCK: You see anything? AARON: Yeah, I see something. BROCK: What is it? What is it? AARON: It ain't an alligator though. What the hell? Hey, I'll tell you exactly what's going on. About to get to the bottom of it right now. Can I help you guys? I was going to ask you the same thing. Oh was you really? I think we need to talk, fellas. BROCK: I know we got a line tossed up in the woods right there that we've been having a problem with people-- Well, I'm the one that put your line in the woods. I did it on purpose. But even so, this is property that I know it's ours. We have to get this resolved, guys. Let's look at a map. Let's just try to see. Let's get together, try to figure this out. In the swamp, nothing's surveyed. There are no street signs. And it's easy to make a mistake with property lines. So as a tradition, as a way of the swamp, we try to talk it out. Let's just hope this is a mistake. Do y'all got a map? BROCK: Mr. Daniels, he said, well I'll tell you what. He say, he's like, I'm not out here to start nothing with you. But he's like, obviously there's some confusion here. And you know, I was like, hold up. What are we talking about here? I was like, you're on my property. DANIEL EDGAR: OK. We're on a corner. Now, is your map showing that corner as yours? See our map shows that our corner is like right here. DANIEL EDGAR: Well, this map definitely matches this corner. If your map is showing that this corner is yours, then obviously they shaded the wrong spot. BROCK: Yeah. We're way off. We're from-- we're from, not around here, let's just say. And this is a new area for us. DANIEL EDGAR: I totally understand. It's an honest mistake. BROCK: Absolutely. Well I tell you what. I'm going to pick the rest of my lines up, that's going towards your property, go the complete opposite way, so there's no confusion. Know what I'm saying? That's great. It's not a problem at all. That's great, Brock. BROCK: Sounds like a plan. DANIEL EDGAR: That's great, guys. BROCK: Sure enough, my map was wrong. His was right. You, know everything's constantly shifting and changing out there. And my map wasn't updated. Very good, gentlemen. Y'all be careful. Good luck. BROCK: Absolutely. I hope you guys catch a 13 or a 14-footer. I we both catch 'em. I hope you don't catch 'em on our damn property. [laughter] As it turned out, these are two really young guys, just getting started, I could see with not a whole lot of experience. But they seemed to be honorable. They did respect me, and that says a lot about a man. NARRATOR: As the day fades, at St. Mary's Seafood, Daniel and Big T have settled their land dispute with Brock and Aaron. As a peace offering, they've invited the boys for some of Joey's famous fried frog legs. DANIEL EDGAR: When Brock and Aaron came fishing by me, the map that they had, a corner of it overlaid a piece I had. It's so hard. The swamp look-- it all of the same. DANIEL EDGAR: But they handled themselves very good. They didn't get upset or nothing. We had a talk. And now look, we eating together. We friends. [laughs] You're right. And asked me, can I help you? BROCK: Yeah, I came off of him. I say, can I help you? You know, I thought we was about to have a problem. DANIEL EDGAR: I'm so proud of you. You guys handled yourself very well. It was just an honest mistake. And in this case, I really like these young guys. Now y'all are part of the team, part of the family. I can see a long-time friendship. Absolutely. Everything really worked out for the best.
