  • way.

  • Nope.

  • This series is not dead.

  • Have been drifting a few times a week now for the past couple months as always and just haven't had much of any luck at all.

  • But finally, recently, I have started to again, and coincidentally, it's started to be pretty darn nice out.

  • Even though it's the middle of February, it feels like summer and the birds are all happy.

  • I don't know, man.

  • Let's go.

  • Three Sting First stop today.

  • Is this goodwill right here?

  • And man, is it a nice day outside Lucky Rock look downright pleasant to walk on.

  • So I did that.

  • Let's step right inside here and well, they changed the layout quite a bit about the shoes and kids clothing things up front now and where the electronics and computers and media used to be.

  • It's just mostly weird furniture.

  • And there's weird crap in the glass.

  • Case is Well, I don't know what those were.

  • This copy of Adobe Page Maker 6.5 don't need that.

  • I don't need this either, but I was tempted by it.

  • This task in the port of many Studio Mark two things.

  • A four track tape recording system 45 bucks complete inbox.

  • Presumably, it was kind of tempting, but it didn't get it cause kind of 11 with a different aesthetic, a little bit older than this one.

  • And he had this used to be the Elektronik section.

  • Now it's just a bunch of old rugs and sinks and things just piled up that seemed completely random.

  • Like this rather disturbing collection of pubes.

  • That's great.

  • Who?

  • A super deal on a desktop CPU and presumably the rest of the system.

  • I'm not sure I'd call this Del super, but there it is.

  • And there is this as well.

  • Check out this magnet box CD player here quite like this form factor and design.

  • This is an A K 6 30 It was $35 though, so I passed.

  • But I'll see if it goes down in price because actually kind of do want this.

  • Check this thing out.

  • I always thought these sharp of you cams were pretty neat.

  • This is a V L.

  • A 10 model and yeah, you just got this little spinny bit here with the lens and controls on it.

  • I don't know.

  • I just think that that was a neat design.

  • Or at least it was back in the day when you didn't really know what cos we're going to do with camcorders or come up with next like, ooh, what's gonna be the standard design of the future?

  • Ah, Microsoft connect 15 bucks each.

  • It was only a matter of time before they started piling up a good wills.

  • And it was only a matter of time before I ran across a beck shoe polisher.

  • Apparently, I don't know why, but these fuzzy bits amuse me and it's got a pole sticking up out of the top of it.

  • Check this thing out for some old nous is a spy Barton radio with vacuum tubes and all sorts of cool stuff going on.

  • It's missing a lot of components on the front.

  • Fact, like all of the knobs, it's not in great shape and, you know, $45.

  • That's just like what the heck?

  • Maybe that's worth it to someone.

  • But to me, that seems a little not worth it.

  • Or is that an electric pink flower anyway?

  • Yeah, Spartan radio.

  • Not gonna get that also not for me, but dang it.

  • What a cool thing this is a J B C x l s V 22 video CD player.

  • Yeah, that's right.

  • A dedicated VCD playing unit Looks like this.

  • Always geared towards playing karaoke Evey CDs, you can see the dual microphone inputs and key control over there obviously play movies as well.

  • I'm just not big enough into collecting this format that I would want a dedicated player necessarily.

  • But it was really cool to see in the wild as all this is pretty need in the back.

  • You have the video out selection for NTSC power or automatic Powell something.

  • I don't know what that does exactly, but for 40 bucks, I'm assuming that's a pretty good find for someone.

  • And, man, this was mighty tempting.

  • Even so, I do not need it.

  • But $12 for this realistic S t a 1 10 stereo receiver.

  • Oh, man, It felt good Buttons felt good knobs felt good.

  • It just looked good.

  • I'm just a sucker for this era and aesthetic of audio visual.

  • Kitt, check out the Texas Instruments.

  • Ti I 3500 data math is a calculator for 1972.

  • I already have one of these, so I didn't pick it up, but I mean, dang it.

  • I just love the way these things look ever really cool looking orange display as well.

  • No, my check out this camera selection here.

  • This is kind of exciting.

  • Several different Pentax models pretty much all of them were $25.

  • Some neat little lenses.

  • Here's cannon US Rebel G.

  • Jessica T.

  • L.

  • Super That was different and very different all the way on the right There there was a Zen it be that's a Russian like Soviet era camera.

  • It's kind of an odd thing.

  • This is different.

  • There's this section get wired for all of their loose cables and little kind of peripherals like that have been bagged up individually and put on pegboard, which makes it an awful lot more convenient if you're looking for a specific type of cable.

  • Whereas before it was just a big rat's nest that was piled in a bin somewhere, I approve.

  • Unfortunately, they've really scaled back their Via Jeff section.

  • There's practically nothing here.

  • Same goes for the DVDs and media in general.

  • There's just not much, so I'm guessing they just recently reset this.

  • This caught my eye Immediately, though This is a little Xerox five and 1/4 inch floppy disk box and have a bunch like this.

  • I was intrigued by the titles that were listed on the side.

  • Unfortunately, there were no floppy disks, and they're just a bunch of random friggin CDs that I do not need.

  • However, there were some interesting titles in there.

  • You had a cop.

  • You serve and start check.

  • I'm the Pia microsoftinternetexplorer Starter kit.

  • Spry Mosaic Web browser.

  • Early America Online CD, mid nineties goodness, but pretty sure I have all of them already more floppy disk storage right around the corner, and I'm and I wish they sold the disks.

  • I resent that every single time I go to Goodwill and see these empty bins, but I thought this one was kind of cool with a slide out tray and stuff.

  • There probably would have bought it if it still had the key, but it did not.

  • I got plenty of floppy disk storage, so I'm not exactly hurting for it.

  • And then I noticed this right here, which might not be the most appealing thing to certain people.

  • But as an ex professional picture framer, I was immediately interested in this Logan compact Matt Cutter.

  • It was brand new in the box for only $23.

  • This 301 s model, normally around 80 to 100 bucks.

  • I've been wanting one of these because I like cutting my own mats for framing and, you know, it's just a straight edge paper cutter as well, Absolutely picking this up already onto another good will on this lovely afternoon.

  • Right inside.

  • There was an awful lot of food for some reason.

  • Some of it looks pretty good, though.

  • I mean, get pretzels and Butterfinger things and he's breaking bites chicken.

  • And no way does that dog food.

  • I don't know.

  • Still, it's good.

  • Yeah, and it looks like they're doing the goodwill wired thing here as well.

  • That's nice.

  • I'm really glad they're doing that because I have two time just completely ignored cables and wires and stuff because they were so hard to go through.

  • This is kind of need some camera lens over here is a vivid our series.

  • 1 72 210 mil.

  • That's pretty sweet.

  • Felt pretty good, man.

  • Pretty solid.

  • But the lens itself, uh, was not looking the best kind of a shame, too, because I was thinking of grabbing this just a mess around with some random cameras.

  • But now, not for $25 being all scratched up and stuff A Here.

  • We g o got some PC.

  • Big box action going on in.

  • This appears to be one of those random retail bundles.

  • Have I f 22 bundled with a loose copy of Apache.

  • I have both of these box, so I don't need it, but still always happy to see big box PC games, especially these kind of odd bundles like this that brings back memories of severe budget restrictions.

  • Oh, now this is appealing.

  • I was immediately drawn to the aesthetic of this thing.

  • Check out this little comp.

  • You Quarter section.

  • Yes, this is a J V C stereo keyboard.

  • The model number is K B 500 this is an analog string keyboard made sometime around the early 19 eighties.

  • Unusually, it had a European plug in the end there, So it wasn't quite expecting that.

  • I wouldn't have gotten it anyway because, I mean, this is not exactly my type of thing.

  • I don't play piano, so I prefer those with MIDI capability.

  • But dang it, this was cool to see.

  • This was super cool to see a CZ.

  • Well, check these old satellite receivers out This Panasonic one here and the little thing in power supply that goes to it off to the side.

  • There.

  • I just like the way that looks same with this general instrument video cipher, too.

  • Satellite de scrambler.

  • That just looks like a purpose built piece of broadcast equipment.

  • But this was kind of need to obviously not in the greatest shape, but yes, isn't I'm a I am a stereo system, just a cassette player, but with a bit of a different design than I normally see.

  • If this had the front door on it and was actually working, I tested, it didn't seem to be I would have bought it immediately because I love the aesthetic with piano keys and just the way the knobs and displays look.

  • And the very rounded front edge is on the top and bottom.

  • That's just a neat design.

  • This was a pretty unusual thing as well.

  • This is Ah I ke a key 70 70 a compact disc player and cassette tape recorder and it came out in 2008.

  • As far as I can tell, this is one of those classroom audio centers I believe they're called techno uncovered something kind of similar to this not too long ago.

  • It lets you change the pitch and all sorts of aspects of whatever you're playing so that you're able Thio teach different music and sing along with or Dubai.

  • There's all sorts of things you can do with it, not something I'm in the market for.

  • But that's not something I expected to see a goodwill next to this pile of unwanted inkjet cartridges.

  • I saw this 52 speed CD Rahm Drive.

  • That's just a standard light on really common thing.

  • But what's a little uncommon is the fact that has a beige faceplate.

  • I just don't see that very often anymore, especially a goodwill.

  • So that's made me oddly happy.

  • Finally, something that caught my eye that I do want to pick up and check this out.

  • This is an easy onyx, easy Kam USB two USB digital cameras.

  • One of those early two thousands things reminds me of one that I used to have by Intel.

  • I mostly wanted to get it, though, because of the software it came with like Game Cam.

  • Special Edition.

  • I remember playing around with this in various stores.

  • It's kind of an augmented reality thing where you put yourself in the game and you can play basketball in karate and bubble popping.

  • And, yeah, I don't know.

  • So five bucks.

  • I grabbed it.

  • Yeah, a carwash.

  • It's what you do when the weather is this nice in the middle of February.

  • I do not understand the seasons anymore.

  • All right, one more goodwill.

  • What you don't have very much hope for cause usually sucks Here.

  • On the other hand, maybe I'm wrong.

  • I mean, check out this weird little dia rama of old ladies.

  • Don't know what this is.

  • Is golden girls seen is everybody.

  • Sofia, I don't know what's going on.

  • Ooh, high density floppy disks formatted for the Macintosh.

  • That's a little different.

  • Had there's been a new package, I probably would have gotten it, but I've got plenty of brand new packages of Mac discs.

  • But, honey, I nice to see, though, over in the books there were some books have always drawn to collections and series of books, all in one spot.

  • This is kind of neat, though.

  • This is more of a periodical, Asimov's science fiction or a whole bunch of these from the early nineties that was gonna tempted by that.

  • But as with most things today, I'm avoiding the temptation and leaving it here because I got too much junk.

  • Yeah, I was about it for this store.

  • In fact, the most amusing thing in the entire building was this cheeseburger pillow.

  • Don't ask me why.

  • It was mostly just the due to the fact that was a cheeseburger pillow.

  • I mean, what's not amusing about that?

  • That's it's amazing to me, All right, One more goodwill in this delightful afternoon and right up front that was immediately drawn to this and top of the glass case is an RC, a select division video disc player.

  • That's right.

  • This plays C.

  • E.

  • D's a delightful competitors.

  • Toe, laser disc and whatnot are down below that.

  • There was an old brownie camera in their 25 bucks.

  • I mean, that's not the greatest price on one of those.

  • Yeah, here's the rest of that C E.

  • D bundle.

  • In fact, there's the CDs themselves, that much movies they were charging $200 for everything all together.

  • That's not a great price, even if it was tested and working, which is not so.

  • Yeah, I will not be picking this one up, even though I am interested in the format over in the other glass case up next to the window.

  • And there's some computer games PC stuff in there that already have don't need.

  • But I didn't have this copy of papyrus, says IndyCar racing to six bucks still sealed in its big box.

  • Absolutely.

  • Getting this These games are pretty friggin great.

  • Oh, this lip's looks interesting here.

  • What is?

  • This was a little General Electric portable turntable that was just drawn to that P olive Green thing going on there.

  • That is one ugly device, and yet that's why I was drawn to it.

  • Go figure.

  • And yet they're doing the cable thing here to all sorts of stuff.

  • Put in neat little baggies and whatnot, not immediately seeing anything that I need.

  • But, hey, I'm just still happy that they're doing this.

  • What are these?

  • It's all a bunch of these identical boxes in the waistband.

  • Amplifiers take jumping and running everywhere in the meeting conference Classroom Church auction campaign to protect your throat Resolve, Resolve, speech impaired Problem.

  • This is literally a fanny pack amplifier and you got a microphone.

  • And it's not that it's entirely useless.

  • It's just the whole presentation of this kind of cracks me up.

  • Oh, now this.

  • Here we go.

  • This is fascinating.

  • And what is this?

  • Casio in S 60 25.

  • See a Dash One stereo music system.

  • Man, keep running into these kind of things.

  • This is another CD player slash tape deck combination thingy, but doesn't look like it does the pitch changing stuff, but it does have a graphic equalizer as well as a built in radio.

  • And it was not in great shape, missing some parts.

  • But hey, we're device a little bit down from that was another thing that caught my eye for sure.

  • His tiny little keyboards is a Casio es que one A sampling keyboard, teeny tiny little keys.

  • It was $7.

  • It had the power it after most of these don't that I've run across, but unfortunately it did not want to work at all.

  • It would power on, but only intermittently and not a single sound would come out of it, which is too bad.

  • Oh, hey, look, we got some computerese stuff over here.

  • What is this expert labels No one cares.

  • And the multiplayer version of civilization to the Gold Edition.

  • I already have this, so I don't need it.

  • But it appeared to be pretty much new in box.

  • Not bad for a dollar at all.

  • I'll leave that for someone else to find.

  • Now This I didn't have and was quite amused to see NASCAR Thunder 2004 in a big box.

  • That is odd.

  • I had never seen a big box version of this.

  • Only the smaller ones from the form factor looks like it might be a WalMart or Sam's Club release.

  • Yes, I'm grabbing that.

  • That's pretty neat.

  • And that's it for Episode 38 of L.

  • G R Thrifts didn't get the whole lot, but what I got is pretty fascinating to me, at least, and I really did want that Matt Cutter.

  • I've had several things of one of the frame.

  • It's just so expensive to get it done in a store, and I'll do it myself.

  • And now I can.

  • But he also got a couple of big box PC games.

  • I'm always happy with that.

  • And an older webcam with some software that might be fun to talk about some time.

  • Maybe not the most exciting hall toe show here on video.

  • But hopefully the journey was at least a bit enjoyable, even though, yeah, it has taken longer than usual.

  • That is just the time of year typically around like November toe March is not the greatest time to go thrift ing just because people either aren't donating stuff for the stuff that they are donating his crap.

  • And then this spring cleaning hasn't happened yet.

  • So if anything, it seems that you have been having more luck.

  • Judging by the photos that you've sent in over the past couple months, thank you very much for these.

  • Once again, it's always cool to see what you find out there and thank you as well.

  • For all the questions and ongoing support, wondering where thrifts is, I know several of you e mail me like every single week, saying thrift is your favorite show that I do.

  • Where are the new ones?

  • I'm just doing them as quickly as possible.

  • I know I always say this, but it seems like it always needs to be said.

  • It relies on luck.

  • New thrifts are always in the works.

  • The show is not going anywhere.

  • If I could help it and as always, thank you very much for watching.

  • We'll see you next time in Episode 39.
