Hey guys!
So almost exactly 3 years ago today...
I posted a video of me eating a piece of bread
That video now has almost 1.5 million views
Which is... embarrassing more than anything.
But today I got some bread as a souvenir from my friend Kyarorin~
She was at hanami in Meguro
and they were selling some sakura bread
and she brought me a piece!
So since people on YouTube seem to like watching me eat bread
I decided to eat that for you
Here it is!
Cherry blossom bread
It looks like it's from a place called Lotus Baguette
If you look at the ingredients, it's all just really basic stuff
Flour, sugar, yeast, salt, organic palm oil, and pickled sakura flowers!
Which are these that you can see here
I'm not sure if you guys watched my sakura starbucks drink video
But they had these pickled sakura flowers on top of the cake
and they tasted like just regular dill pickles...
Which was very strange.
So here's hoping that this bread doesn't taste like pickles
and it tastes more like the sakura flavour
Oh it smells so nice!
It kinda smells like raisin bread
I kinda wanna toast it and put something on it but...
Let's stick to the original format of my first bread video
because that one went well!
Itadakimasu!
Mmm!
It's really "mochi mochi"
It's really squishy, and like... bouncy?
I don't know how to say "mochi mochi" in English
I think I used the same word in my video 3 years ago
and I still haven't figured out how to say it xD;
Maybe it's a word we don't have in English, that's probably my problem
Look you can see the sakura leaves/stems sticking out
It's really good
Tastes really similar to sakura mochi
Which is a sweet that's wrapped in a sakura leaf
It's a nice subtle flavour
This would be so yummy toasted with cream cheese or something
Mmmm...
Springtime in Japan is just so much fun because
Japan likes to have lots of fun with trying new flavours
of anything you can think of!
So, the drinks at Starbucks...
cakes, desserts,
bread
McDonald's had sakura flavoured stuff last year, like a burger!?
I'm looking forward to see what other companies come out with this year
But I am super in love with this sakura bread!
I wish I had more of it!
So if you guys are in Japan for sakura viewing season
and you happen to see some sakura bread
definitely give it a try, it's really good!
Even like this with nothing on it, you can just eat it as a snack
while you're looking at the sakura blossoms
and speaking of sakura viewing!
There is a YouTube/Hanami Party (hanami = sakura viewing)
This Saturday April 4th, at Yoyogi Park
So if you are in Tokyo, or in Japan and you feel like coming to Tokyo for the weekend
Please come and hang out, I will be there
Rachel and Jun will be there
as well as tons of other YouTubers
Anyone is welcome to come, we all really wanna meet you guys!
Hopefully we can have some fun and just chill in the park like last year!
I will put the link in the description box to the Facebook Event for the hanami party
Check there, there should be a map with the location
and the time and all that information
So yeah! I hope to see you guys there!
I will probably be there around 1 or 2 in the afternoon
So if you would like to meet me, maybe show up around 1 or 2
Hope to see you guys there, and thanks for watching! Bye!
