Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hey everyone, good morning, I am Micaela and today I am in Fukuoka airport heading to Okinawa, I’m not wearing any makeup I’m REALLY sorry about that. I just got to my gate, and check out my airplane: The Star Wars ANA JET is a 767 used for domestic routes in Japan. Mega fans of the series can always look up the plane’s schedule online and plan their trip accordingly, but for regular people like me, who just happen to be going on a business trip today, it’s a really pleasant surprise to walk up to the gate and see this. The Star Wars jet is one of three designs that ANA has created to celebrate the release of the latest movie. The other two models are for international flights though, so Japanese customers have less opportunity to ride them. Also it appears that ANA has quietly acquired the millennium falcon, but nobody seems to be talking about it. On board the flight, a model version of the R2D2 Plane can be purchased for 6,000 yen. For the super fan, you can also buy an R2-D2 refrigerator, and it will only set you back one million yen…….. For the American spender, that’t about $8500 USD. But if that’s too pricey, don’t worry, the headphones are only 22,000 yen! that’s… $190 USD. And in the in-flight menu, they DO serve Star Wars popcorn is…. 1500yen, that’s about $12 USD. Being a Star Wars fan sounds like a pretty expensive hobby, to be honest. But aside from all the gimmicks, the flight was smooth, the service was great, and we arrived in Okinawa in one piece. I can see how theme-flights could be super exciting for fans, but even for regular people like me, it’s a nice unexpected surprise.
