Lieutenant Randy Rogers of the Moors Ville Police Department in Indiana says he was notified of a person laying on the side of the road.

But when he arrived, the man was up and walking that was get pulled in.

Once Lieutenant Rogers realized the man had a long walk ahead of him, he offered to give him a ride.

Part of the way this kind cop says he was concerned when the man said he hadn't eaten in more than a day.

Lieutenant Rogers says he can only hope the man made it to Florida safely, but he encourages others to extend a helping hand when they see an opportunity.
