As you know, I am alive today.

We're going to be talking about the maid.

Well, USB capture plus oh, is the video capture device that I have been waiting for my whole content creator career.

So I purchase think this thing a few days ago, and it is absolutely wonderful.

So what this does is allows you to capture video from an a t.

M my source and be able to input it into your Mac or into your PC.

So whether you have in a camera that has an A t m I output or you have another computer has an A t M I output that's able to go into this thing.

This then outputs it essentially as a USB webcam for your computer to use.

And then you're able to grab that video, put it into things like wire cast and Toby s Skype face time.

Essentially anything that uses a webcam.

So this is what we're gonna be talking about today.

And the T L D.

R is beautiful, is beautiful.

It's just Ah Oh, it's just such a wonderful, wonderful device now being an I t professional, one of things that I always tell you folks is whenever you talk about a product and whenever you talk about it being good or bad, the situation is generally the most important thing, right?

So if you have a device and you know for a lot of things is a piece of crap, but in your particular situation, it does the job.

You need it to d'oh!

Then it's a good device.

If you know, people call and say that it's amazing sayings of the most wonderful thing in the world.

But in your particular situation, it doesn't do what it needs to dio.

Then it's a piece of crap So I want to talk about the situation where I run into and why I needed to buy a new video capture device.

So as I talked about, you know, I bought the new Mac book Pro.

Ah, and I like this.

This is a 13 inch MacBook Pro.

This is the $2000 version, and and it's great.

I mean, really, it's It's a great little computer.

I don't care what you say.

I use it every day.

It's a beautiful, beautiful thing, right?

But the problem is, is the equipment the black magic of equipment that I that I have doesn't connect to this because it has us BC and Thunderbolt three connections.

So I did.

I went out and I bought a thunderbolt to To thunder, Yeah, Thunderbolt to two Thunderbolt three adapter.

And what I found with the Black Magic equipment is it just doesn't work.

For whatever reason, I went in to the support forums and basically the the answer is it just doesn't work.

Why doesn't it work?

Who the hell knows?

It just doesn't work now.

I have been using black magic equipment for years and years and years for five years at least right, probably since 2012 have been using black magic with him.

So, honestly, my default whenever I'm gonna buy equipment is to go back to the company that I've been using again.

I use the 80 on television studio.

I used the the intensity extreme.

I used the monitor thing right.

I've used a number of pieces of black magic equipment to be clear.

Work yourself.

Quirky is out, but it does do the job.

And so at first I was looking to go back Toto Black Magic and purchase, whatever their latest thing is to connect to us BC or Thunderbolt three.

And from what I could find from what I could find doing research, I could not find any.

Just do basic video captured a U.

S.

B C, USB three C or Thunderbolt three connections.

They just did not seem to exist.

I honestly again, especially now that now that these things have been around, this version has been around for like a year and 1/2 of this point.

I figured Black Magic will be putting something out, basically the latest iteration of what I already own and from what I could tell the latest iteration, What I already owe doesn't exist.

It's all it's all.

It's all thunderbolt, too.

They do have something called I think It's the Shuttle, the Intensity Shuttle, but I own one of those in the past again.

I've owned a lot number of pieces of black magic equipment I owned.

I think it's a shuttle.

The plastic thing.

It's a plastic thing that says it's USB three compliant.

I owned that in the past, but that was actually piece of equipment.

I could never get working honestly.

Honestly, it went off.

There's a There's a robotic center around here and Moland runs over robotic Center.

That was one of the piece of equipment that got donated off to them because I could never get the darn thing to work.

And again, I use a lot of black magic stuff.

So that was the only thing I could see.

I could see that uses a USB three, so basically black magic is off the table.

Ah, Then I went to look for the L God Oh, right.

Delgado is supposed to be the cool, sexy thing.

Um, and I was going to use that for video capture And when you look not not not very happy at wire cast right now.

So the, uh, the video the software that I use in order to actually Rick do this recording right now is I use wire cast.

And so if you look under underwire cast specs and the equipment that is supposed to work with wire cast, it says it says the l God.

Oh, ah, Little capture devices work, right?

Says it right there, in the specially to say is like, not officially supported by wire.

Castor tell a stream.

I guess it is, but supported by the manufacturer.

And so it's there.

So I went out there about the 60 60 s or whatever the 60 frames per 2nd 1 thought that was good.

Plug that into this little $2000 Mac book pro, and the software worked for the l God.

Oh, so the llegado desktop software and the Delgado works on this.

It gave me a complaint.

Apparently, this is a dual core processor.

It gave me a complaint saying it's not a quad core processor, it won't work.

But it did.

Actually.

Delgado works fine on this thing.

The problem Waas The problem was when you open up wire cast in order to use the Delgado, it doesn't show up in wire cast as they sit there.

And I well, on tele streams, wire cast specs.

It says it works, but it's not working again.

What am I doing doing?

I have the right firm where blah, blah, blah.

Well, you go through and you read a whole hell of a lot of support forums.

And what you find out is that, um it apparently just doesn't work.

I've got it just doesn't work with wire cast.

It does work with the Mac, but it doesn't work with wire cast.

And so basically, I was stuck again, huh?

What am I gonna D'oh?

Well, that again looking at the forums and all that.

That's where I came across, major.

Well, and basically, what they say with made well is what's really nice is this does all the computer read type stuff for you and then simply outputs the output so that it looks like a web cam as far as your computer is concerned.

And what I can say is, it actually really does that, and it does it as well as you think it would.

So it's cool about this, right?

So, like, with a lot of the equipment, Okay, you can use it for O.

B s, or you can use it for wire cast, but you kind of get a little stuck with it.

What's kind of cool with this is you Q.

Can use this for anything.

Essentially, this turns your very nice pretty camera into a webcam.

So not only can use this for wire cast, but you can use this for face time.

You can use this for Skype.

You can use this for just about anything that uses a Web cam.

Um and so that's why I ended up buying this thing.

And that's how we get into the situation that we're in now.

This will actually connect to the Mac book Pro does what it's supposed to dio, um, and all the other devices that I was looking at Yeah, uh, it just did not go well for let's take a look at the USB capture.

H d M I plus on the maid wells sight.

So, as you know, if you follow me for any length of time, I like to buy the best quality products I can when I know this is something that I'm going to be using on a day and day out.

And so one of the things that I really like about this Major Wells, if you go down here, you look at this four K at 60 of frames per second.

So it supports this natively.

Um and so what's really nice about this is is honestly, honestly, as faras video production goes, I mean, I'm not a huge fan of even four K, right, So four K 60 frames per second, these air huge video files.

I don't think this will be a normal thing for a long time, but if I'm gonna be buying a device like this anyway, now, if I'm gonna be dropping the money on it, I might as well get something that supports it.

So I don't like a lot of if you go to C.

E s.

They're starting to talk about, like eight K televisions or even 12 K televisions.

I honestly just don't believe we're going to get past four K or anybody is going to care about getting past four K like, kind of like one of those forever things.

And so what's nice about this is my hope is this is one of those kind of forever gadgets where I get to buy this now, and most likely, 10 years from now, I'm still going to be using this because it was supports four K 60 frames per second.

I just don't see where I'm going to get past that right now.

You can use, you know, for a PlayStation four.

You can use it for X boxes, basically for video gaming.

So although this doesn't look as cool and sexy is in l God oh, Ah, You can use it for video game capture to now.

That is one thing.

Okay, I'll give you that.

You know, maybe if you do buddy video games, who knows?

Another three or four years video games will be only four K and 100 and 20 frames per second.

But at least for the type of stuff that I am going to be doing, a four K 60 frames per second is more than enough for me so you can take a local ice.

I basically just got the nice H d m I input.

Plus you can do embedded audio.

So it actually is a little audio connector on there.

Ah, you're able to see the HD on my signal.

So if you're gonna be doing video games, if you see here, there's the input.

So for the input, that's where your input, Hmm, I goes.

But loop through.

This is where you can connect like a monitor.

Televisions tow.

Watch what you're doing, eh?

So that's that's part of it.

Ah, you come down here basically can take a look at the interface is it's got Mike and headphone little thing on there.

It's got the USB.

It's got the four k he come down, you can take a look compatible with Windows compatible with Lennox.

So again, if you're gonna be using open broadcast or something like that compatible with Mac, obviously plug and play blah, blah, upscaling, downscaling de interlacing compatible software.

When the interesting things that I like about this that they that they actually promote here, I mean, who the hell knows who that it until you do it, you don't really trust it, but it's a whole idea that it can continuously work for 24 hours a day.

Seven days a week.

Now that's pretty nice, because I will say again, I have, like, the intensity extreme for black magic, and it has a little fan inside.

So in order to cool itself, it's got a little fan that buzzes around.

Well, the thing is, is with If you have a fan, that's a motor.

That's a fan I can get, get dunked up and fail at some point.

One of things I like about this particular device is there is no fan.

There's no fan.

There's no obvious cooling.

It's just this little just this little brick.

I mean, like I said, when you go up and you take a look at it, that that's basically what you get in your hand.

Ah, so it's a pretty nice thing.

Now, if you're starting to look about the price with us, it is pricey.

It is pricey.

It's not.

It's not inexpensive, but as you can see, I did buy this thing myself up.

Ah, and it does come to $359.

You know, you get prime shipping, then you just pay the tax on it.

Um, I will say, you know, when you look at the other devices out there.

Uh, capture devices cost anywhere between 152.

$400.

So it does come within the price point that you could expect.

You know, l l gotta has gotta cost you 200 bucks.

But do you remember?

This is four K 60 frames per second, not 10 80 p.

60 frames per second.

So depending on what you're doing, I think the specifications are really nice.

And like, say, for me, it was worthwhile for something to buy.

So here we are, and we're actually looking on my recording, Mac.

So this is the mac that I use in order to do, Ah, to do the videos.

This is what I'm literally recording on.

That's why you kind of see that this weird.
