Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hey everybody! It's Marie and I'm here with a biz nugget and it's kind of cool because I'm in my kitchen, and we're going to cook up some biz nuggets. ("I'm in the kitchen cooking biz nuggets. I'm in the kitchen cooking biz nuggets. Let me whip em' up! Kitch, kitch, kitch, kitchen cooking biz nuggets! Yes! Biz, biz nuggets!) Biz nuggets: Q: Anyway so, probably one of the biggest questions that I get asked very often is, how do you find the right team of professionals for your business? Like accountants and bookkeepers, financial planners, all that jazz. And, it can be intimidating when you're first starting out because obviously especially when it comes to anything financial, you really want to have the best people on your team. So they don't embezzle you or totally screw up your books, or all that jazz. A: So there's a three-step very simple process to go about finding the perfect professionals for you. Step one, ask your most successful friends. So it seems like an obvious step to take but think about it. Just like you wouldn't want to go to an out-of-shape, overweight personal trainer. You don't want to go asking your broken miserable friends who they're using for their financial planning. Bottom line is they're probably they don't even have a financial planner but take a look around especially in your industry. The people who are making money, who really seems that they have their act together. Ask them for their entire teams. Say are they taking on new people and just collect all the data. Step two is you want to reach out to those professionals and set up a little "get to know you" date. So whether you connect with them on the phone, you go to their office, you connect with them on Skype. What you want to do is get a feel for who they are, how they work, if they're taking new clients, and of course, what their rates are. What's really important about this step is you want to get a vibe for how they work. You know, one of the best ways that I choose people is on intuition. So, if when you're talking to them, they seem really distracted or you just don't like the manner in which they deal with you. Even though they may be very good at what they do and very effective, you want to work with people who are just an ideal fit for your personality type. Step three; you want to ask for referrals. (Pardon the interruption, I meant to say references not referrals; references. Okay, back to the video.) So if you think that they're a great person, you may want to hire them. Ask him for at least three other people that they're working with that you can go ahead and call, and then you actually have to call them! So pick up the phone, reach out and ask about that person. Really ask the tough questions like, are they still working with this professional? Is there any hesitation that they have whatsoever in recommending them to you? And, you really want to be thorough about this because most people in the world are honest and if you call their references, and they're like, "You know what, they're great but they always get reports in late." Or, "They're pretty good but I'm actually looking for a new one myself." Those are all huge red flags! So that's your biz nugget for the week! If you like it, like it! Comment and share and of course, come on over to marieforleo.com and get on the mailing list so we can be even more connected. Thank you so much and I'll see you next time!
