This is the lock picking lawyer, and I'm always looking for a security bargain, which is what first led me to this.
The Unity Model T S J F 70 padlock.
It's a fairly beefy lock that comes from China.
It has a 70 millimeter wide steel or iron lock body with a high shackle guard that protects this 13 millimeter thick shackle.
The shackle is held closed with a ball bearing locking mechanism and securing everything is a five pin dimple core.
Well, look at that a bit closer in a moment, but first I have to note that of the thousands of locks I have in my collection, this is the only one I have that's advertised to possess.
Quote good character.
I have absolutely no idea what they mean by that, but it seems pretty clear that something was either lost or gained in translation.
Okay, back to the score.
It's a dimple configuration.
There are five pins in there, and the only real challenge to picking is the incredible amount of spring tension that cores under.
That's going to make it very difficult to rake.
Not impossible, but hard enough that single pin picking will probably be the fastest way in.
So let's do that now.
Going to use this Z bar for tension and this multi pick dimple peck.
Okay, nothing on one two is binding.
Click there.
Click out of three click out of four, click out of five back to the beginning.
Click out of one, and we got this open.
Okay.
Five pins, fairly sloppy tolerances and no security pins on all a fairly weak core and probably not something to rely upon.
In any case, that's all I have for you today.
