  • I'm gonna start by talking about Liverpool.

  • Strong words from Jorgen Clock following the drawer.

  • With truth be, before we get into that, we're gonna sort of dissect it and break it down.

  • We can show you the team that started in the match, So this was a way to Shrewsbury.

  • Now, a lot of talk about how Liverpool that approaches this season have been absolutely fantastic competitions.

  • Would you make of this starting lineup that started the game yesterday?

  • I don't have an issue with it at all.

  • You've got a squad of 25 players play who you want, you know that.

  • That's purely down to the manager.

  • That's why he's got a squad.

  • These players need an opportunity in some games.

  • That squad, that team is good enough to be true.

  • Very simple.

  • Is that a clearly Jurgen Klopp thought that they were two nil up.

  • They should have seen the game off.

  • Should have seen out, and they did.

  • So I think the manager has the right to play any team that he wanted to play.

  • You agree with that constant that that team that starting lineup strong enough to win that fixture?

  • Um, there's a lot of it.

  • It's not.

  • There's a lot of inexperience in there, But truth be, if you got respect for his grease team, Um, you obviously think that was a good enough team to field toe guard and get the win.

  • They almost There's a stronger team that played against Everton in the last room, but those players want they want a manager on the sideline, given a boost.

  • Their probably beat him if he was there, you know.

  • I mean, I could have given them the boost to go on and perform in front of the manager.

  • I don't know if the manager was watching way.

  • Don't know the ins and outs of it, but for me, I need you do need to manage it there.

  • If I had, if I was a powerful player, I'd say I want to go out to them to improve a point and you guys look over to the bench to see the manager standing there to give your Sometimes.

  • Paul, can you understand?

  • Jurgen Klopp Resting players Given just the amount of fixtures they've had, this seasonal, the competitions, they're in Qatar as well for the club walk up.

  • Can you understand where he's coming from wresting certain players 100%.

  • Yeah, honestly, As Danny said, I I'm with Danny.

  • That was a much stronger team than they ever.

  • Yeah, it was on me.

  • You got arrest.

  • These players, they got in the game for the Premier League for the first time in 30 years.

  • I mean, this.

  • That team should have been good enough.

  • No disrespect to Shrewsbury to be Shrewsbury, you know, And they started well and obviously at the end of that sort of faded, and that probably just shows you the inexperienced.

  • It's hard, you know, when these lads of planning under tweet 20 free football and then you get the step even though you plan against a leg.

  • One true story yet.

  • I mean lease extension, lead 1 16 for legal.

  • It's still men's football.

  • Stillman's further.

  • I got my opportunity in the League Cup when lots of changes, I don't about you.

  • That's how you get your opportunity is a kid.

  • Very few kids are thrown in to a Premier League game, you know, from the start, every now and then it doesn't happen.

  • It's the cup games where you get the opportunity to make it.

  • So yeah, he's done right.

  • I can trust him on maybe get another go in the next Cup game and then all of a sudden there's an injury and you might get going the first team proper in a Premier League game.

  • So the manager's got every right, I think, to pick whatever team he wants to pick.

  • Yeah.

  • Speaking of the manager s ellipticals F A Cup fourth round replay has been scheduled for February the fourth.

  • Now that is during the primitive winter break in.

  • Jurgen Klopp said this after the game that we will not be there and it will be the kids I know that is not very popular.

  • Hey, says an April 29 scene.

  • We got a letter from the Premier League where they ask us to respect the winter break on, not to organize international friendlies or competitive games.

  • We respect that.

  • I said to the boys already two weeks ago that we will have a winter break.

  • So that is stories that grabbing the headlines.

  • Danny, where do you stand with that and what you make of those comments from you again?

  • I don't have an issue with him playing the kids.

  • That's his prerogative.

  • It's a squad of 25 players you gotta pick from.

  • If he wants to play the kids, that's entirely up to him.

  • If they're not good enough and they lose unlivable, go out the F A Cup, then that's his decision.

  • But the manage not being there.

  • I think he's trying to make some kind of point, but I think he's gone too far.

  • I think he's being disrespectful with those under 23 players.

  • Does the manager really need arrest physically?

  • Mentally, he's not going to switch off, cannot fly in for that one game and actually be there and field.

  • I think if I was a kid, you know, and it might be my debut.

  • I want to impress the manager.

  • I wanted to look over and see the manager there.

  • I want him in the changing room.

  • Even if he's not taking the team talk and it's the under 23 manager Neil Creature that's gonna take it.

  • That's fine, but I think Jorgen Clock has to be there.

  • I think it's disrespectful to his own players.

  • More than anything else.

  • Forget about the competition, I think is disrespect for the place that will be playing without doubt.

  • You're the manager of Liverpool Football Club.

  • These players are playing for Liverpool and he can't be bothered to be there because he needs a break.

  • Give the players of break by all means physically.

  • Mentally they need a rest.

  • Come on, You're not telling me Jurgen Klopp need one day off.

  • You can't fly back in from wherever he is and then fly back out again to support his team to support his young place.

  • Imagine the boost that they will get if Jurgen Klopp is there and he comes in afterwards.

  • Pat on the back.

  • Well done, son.

  • You were brilliant today.

  • They're not gonna get that poured.

  • Agree with Danny That don't take issue with the squad.

  • It's it's more managers, not their play.

  • Whatever team we want, but the manager not being there, I don't get that in the slightest.

  • I don't know if the manager's already books up with his wife and kids.

  • I don't know.

  • I don't know.

  • I don't know if that's the case and I managed it low early.

  • I managed it once.

  • It was our it was art.

  • And this lads working under pressure every week.

  • I don't care what anybody says.

  • I know this team wins.

  • It's hard work.

  • You don't switch off his 25 out.

  • There aren't enough hours in the day for a manager.

  • He needs to switch off.

  • He does, you know, as he booked an ology or and he's promised his wife and kids, I don't know.

  • It's backfired, I don't know.

  • And he's got the UN path of the game.

  • He's got.

  • I ain't gonna be there.

  • And now he might be sitting there thinking she said it like that.

  • Do you think it might be it now?

  • I don't know.

  • Is it?

  • Is it one of them where he's having a dig at the Premier League where they're going?

  • You know, we're gonna give you two weeks off and now we'll have some.

  • We gotta cut replay again.

  • Why didn't anybody think of this?

  • You know, talk themselves.

  • I get that.

  • He might put something, but but to not be there for his team, for his young players.

  • You know what I I just think that if I I think you're going to be brilliant and he's been fabulous for the Premier League, he's absolutely brilliant.

  • He's been a breath of fresh air but not being there for your young team.

  • I don't get that in this life taken whether he's on holiday or not, wherever he is in the world, he can fly back for that.

  • I thank you that statement, I think you might be there.

  • You know, you think I think you're still might be there falling on from those quotes that you said only yesterday.

  • Well, it might be an emotional emotional yesterday because he was thinking, Who's gonna get it over the line in normal time and it's not gonna happen for him.

  • So I think he might see that he's a bit too emotional.

  • I might have to retract what I said later on.

  • Hopefully does that footage.

  • For the respect of the players and fans, managers will be fixed skin broken clocks, more worried about winning, winning the Premier Li.

  • I'm gonna be in or a boy, but he's not worried about some kids coming through in a moment.

  • He wants to win the Premier League and he'll think of himself and you'll think of his team and if he needs a rest, it'll have arrest.

  • He's been all right get your mount, your manager of the football club.

  • It's one of the last 15 or 16 70,000 Pit will be on the cop in the 40,000 turn up every weekend on the millions of millions around the world who haven't seen this team in the league for for years.

  • What were they won't ever?

  • Crop says You will go.

  • What they don't know they want, I don't know.

  • But I think it was a play and myself as a young player coming through you want The whole point is you want to impress the manager.

  • I think he doesn't know if it doesn't go.

  • I'd like to think you'd sit down with the players and tell him what his reason John May.

  • I think he might amount of young kids and he's come out straight after the game, and that's where I think that's where I think he's probably for you.

  • Just said that he thinks he still might retract that statement.

  • Be there.

  • Can you see your own clock being in the dugout for that match?

  • Uh, what do you think he'll stick with what he said yesterday.

  • I think you're I think, what you said In my opinion, I think he's the manager.

  • The one thing he's got going the Premier League I know we were saying is one and I think he has one, and I mean, it would be the big biggest block of all time in four terms, you know?

  • I mean, I got seven, right Game seven.

  • Losing one is not being on a, but I still thinking that I don't think it needs a rest.

  • I know people say, Oh, he does.

  • When he goes on, we'll be thinking it is already thinking next season.

  • He's already thinking, applies Who can I?

  • You know that when you take on the job as a manager, you know that's gonna be the case.

  • You know, in England you don't really get much of a bright Hey, probably for a probably full.

  • You know what?

  • We've got to weep, right?

  • We'll play stronger team, actually, probably any probably.

  • Did he make me be true and I think she's got the keys.

  • He's got the eye.

  • But at the end of the day, whatever Juergen Klopp does, believe me, the Liverpool fans think 100% where does it stop them?

  • So next time It's not well, actually a cup game.

  • A donut.

  • I don't fancy that.

  • You're gonna go that one.

  • I think it sets a dangerous precedent.

  • Man United got slaughtered when they played in the club World Cup.

  • When they didn't, they didn't play, did they?

  • They pulled out of the competition.

  • They couldn't help that at some point the Liverpool decided to play in the Club World Cup and played their kids in the league Cup.

  • The manager you still wear for that, the manager can still be there.

  • You've got to look the other way.

  • I mean, what for?

  • Home to Maine United in the F A cup.

  • Here is a massive game.

  • For what?

  • For this Live on the telly There.

  • Playing 1,000,000?

  • Either That make all the changes you made Just summed it up for me.

  • It just You know, it'll sound about clock.

  • But look at what?

  • It doesn't everybody be an end always at that end that you win the leader and that get you.

  • But if you're if you're if you're the figurehead, you're the manager.

  • You're the head coach of the football club.

  • You've got You've surely you've got to be there for that on your part, you think is disrespectful for the competition.

  • You know, he was saying, It's one of the oldest standing competitions in football and obviously you gotta look at it like, Is it?

  • Is it turning into Mickey Mouse?

  • Like, obviously, you go?

  • Do you think it is?

  • I don't think it is all that for me.

  • I think you've got to attack and go and get their fake up.

  • I'm gonna bring that home.

  • It's still a trophy, although his priority will be the leak.

  • Yeah, definitely.

  • But don't disrespect difficult.

  • And he said in a lot of his interviews, a za kid usedto love watching the F I card.

  • You know, it was a massive part of England was all about in one of the reasons you want to come to England was because of the F A Cup, and now he's gone now.

  • Irrelevant, not bothered.

  • I don't like that and it's I said, it's it's for the players.

  • I think he should be there for his own young players coming through to support them, be there for them.

  • They might be kid scores at trick on his manager's not there to see it.

  • How does he feel off the back of that?

  • I don't think that's right.

  • So you're saying you nothing is right.

  • You think this is his reputation is sky high.

  • They've been phenomenal this season.

  • That there, that's unbelievable.

  • Did you think this will be damaging to him in any way then Danny?

  • No, no mercy.

  • Not from Liverpool fans, because you think it'll be fine.

  • It'll be fine with it.

  • Can walk on water as far as far as they're concerned.

  • But I think everybody else will look at me.

  • And he's been so good with the media.

  • You know, when you look at other managers, you know how they got it wrong from time to time.

  • He is so media friendly is so affably is just absolutely brilliant.

  • This might just change one or two neutrals perspective on him.

  • I would agree with that.

  • It wouldn't know mine mine.

  • But, you know, I can understand what everybody else is saying I can, but not for May, not from a I.

  • You know, I don't see why he doesn't have to be kind of a break personally.

  • I mean, he's gonna watch the game where every is in the world will be on the telly oil watching video.

  • When he gets home, he don't go to every under 23 football match.

  • You know the place they're playing the under 20 three's a plan in it.

  • And, you know, he likes today their planet.

  • They're playing men's football against May.

  • He needs to see that because he needs us it.

  • You can't see everything on TV now.

  • That doesn't mean I think, for the sake of one day or wanted, it doesn't have to take the team talk.

  • It doesn't have to do any of the tactics.

  • He can leave that to Neil Critchley and let him do everything.

  • But I think as the head coach of the football club, he should be there.

  • Simply a foreplay yourself or former place.

  • Of course, as a first team play for Liverpool.

  • Now, how would you react?

  • Would you want the breaker?

  • Would you want to be playing in every Cup competition, including the F A Cup I wanna break?

  • To be honest, I'm not gonna like the O.

  • B in office.

  • If he's been, if it's being offered, I'd wanna break here.

  • But I think the way the break is is that.

  • Obviously the replay is kind of messed up for him.

  • So now he should have won that game.

  • Now he's not gonna get that bread that you once.

  • He's not getting the bright because the players are the players will, you know, he'll knock them.

  • Put none of them players.

  • None of the big like that.

  • After what they've been told they can't go to the Far East.

  • They've been told they can't go.

  • I think to America got batteries so they gotta stay within your, um so he's only gonna be a 23 hour flight away.

  • Now you can't tell me.

  • Liverpool kit.

  • I got a private jet that can fly now.

  • I think seven hours, seven hours.

  • I'll be shocked if the team we're going away.

  • I foresee that you said to the players See, four or five days or four days, I think then then they can go and go wherever they want, and that's that's where I probably probably was gone somewhere.

  • But kids, they'll be at school.

  • It brings up another issue.

  • Wearable teaches will understand.

  • That brings up another issue about replace a lot of people in the media and social.

  • We've been talking about replace whether they think it's beneficial or detrimental to the F A Cup.

  • What do you stand?

  • Cults?

  • And you think replays should still stand because a lot of fans of lower league clubs will say it's a huge opportunity for them for gate receipts to go t o the big grounds.

  • Do you think replace should stay for exactly that reason?

  • It's, Ah, it's a block Petunia Ito, cash car, Feli, the League one teams or the lead, two teams or even the chumps on the lower championship.

  • It helps generate money, so I think that always should be on Avenue.

  • Understand?

  • Is a far too many games sometimes, and especially if you're in the Premier League team and then you need to get some points on the table.

  • But you've got the F A Cup that's in the way.

  • I understand that part, but for the for the replay, for the up and comment teams I want do well in that cop in trying, trying to generate money.

  • It's massive.

  • It's a huge opportunity to play must never play.

  • If you play at ST Thing is the money for the club.

  • I mean, you know, not not enough money get stripped down.

  • T So the lesser teams and I've said for I can't remember how long it probably when I was underwater, when we got drawing in the third round of the F A couple way and cost us more money to get there than what the crowd was.

  • Forget, we'll plan.

  • So I always think whoever is the lowest team in the actual think they play the top seeds away, away.

  • They shouldn't even draw it.

  • Joy.

  • Just say Man City last year with Junkins, they play the lowest team from last year in the league, and then you just do the drawer, whether it's home or away on that gives everybody happy.

  • Maybe you been that back around five or you take away lead, replacing it around your third or fourth round.

  • You do that.

  • Somebody slipped.

  • You could be this.

  • Take your team off the top might style Bridgetown.

  • I don't where I got them in front, but Salvage probably probably have to go through about seven or eight rounds.

  • Thio modification to the third round and play pool.

  • Val, Why, that's like a bit of a way that mule war.

  • Why There's not gonna be a lot of fans there Could style Bridget going to Milwaukee.

  • All of a sudden, they're losing money, and they've just gone through all of them round.

  • They should wait.

  • You know, you could get rid of replays if the teeth both teams in the same league.

  • I think individual last week, teams like self actor and talk get to give up and go.

  • Do you want to replay on the away team?

  • Have a choice and they go, Yeah, we want to replay or they go.

  • No, we don't.

  • We want to finish your option.

  • I think if you want, it's yours.

  • If you're If you're in the same division, gate receipts are gonna be one.

  • Yeah, You're not gonna make that much money extra game.

  • If you're in the same division, you could just say right.

  • Okay.

  • No replacement for the away team for the lower the lower league club.

  • For sure.

  • Especially half the incentive of drawing that game going.

  • Yeah, you're taking that.

  • A lot of chairman who were down down the years say that they'd rather draw than a victory thio because it doesn't look that has kept a lot of clubs.

  • It is.

  • But mercy's right.

  • If they changed it completely on top Seed plays bottom seed and then you maybe have a drawer for home.

  • In a way, least then the money would start to feel too.

  • Damn, it would spread it around, guarantee to spread it around a little bit.

  • That's a decent idea.

  • Wait years ago, when I play the lead car started off of a two leg or against one of the lower teams.

  • You played home and away game that we play talking home.

  • You've got to put that the lower league team got to play one of the big boys over in a way, so they made their money.

  • And then at the same time, they got to play it.

  • One of the big grounds, you know, which was a good idea.

  • But that was too many games, understand?

  • It boils down to money attended today.

  • That's the bottom line.

  • I think name of the game is to get the money to the lower team.

  • If a couple is no, it's not for Man City to win, the FAA come and get a £1,000,000 of the top teams always gonna win it.

  • But It's hard to get the semifinals in the final.

  • I think three times in the last 30 odd years it's been a team outside of the top four in the league.

  • You know, when that was Wimbledon, Portsmouth, Wigan on with everybody.

  • Even everything when they win it in the eighties were sort of in the top four.

  • So apart from that, it's all.

  • It's generally top team is gonna win the F A Cup, but those early rounds is all about those smaller teams coming through.

  • Get in that big draw on that can often provide finances for the next 10 years on.

  • Keep that football club go in business, and we always talk about how strong our pyramid is.

  • How great is that?

  • We've got so many divisions and there's so much support.

  • Well, then, sure, if you're gonna tweak it, at least tweak it that way in favor off the smaller clubs, right?

  • Yes.

  • The other part off this debate as well as the replace is, of course, the winter break.

  • So for those are not really understanding how it is gonna play out in the primitive, we can tell you exactly now, probably match day.

  • We spit over two weekends.

  • There'll be four games on the weekend of February 8 and nine and six matches from February the 14th to the seventh sense of clubs can go abroad for training camps.

  • But tours to the USA and Far East will not be allowed, meaning that clubs can get between 5 to 13 days off, depending on the replays, because the likes of South Hampton Spurs Newcastle in Liverpool do have those replays that have fallen within the winter break schedule.

  • Cult.

  • And so for those clubs, it's not a they've got games within that winter break.

  • So was that the point you're making other than likely scheduling is just a deal.

  • Yeah, it's not that I do with the scheduling, because if I said if you said to me that I was having two weeks off in order aside the number Ivan, but I had to win that game and you start to look at certain things differently.

  • But it is what it is, another think going forwards.

  • They just have to do with it.

  • It's not.

  • It's not even it's not even a proper wind to break one.

  • It's one blitz winter.

  • No, it's not it's what if you're the team, It's one weekend off, so I don't know worshipping a manager.

  • We've all been players you're likely to get.

  • Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, maybe Wednesday Off.

  • You'll be in Thursday, Friday.

  • You might get satiety Sunday off, and he'll be back in Monday as a normal week.

  • But you won't get the whole way.

  • No, no, don't get one right won't be trusted because tours aren't allowed to go to the Far East and USA.

  • But there's nothing so the individuals can't go on holiday.

  • And then you start thinking about jet lag in the time traveling.

  • Can clubs, police that I mean it gets complete, so play is gonna get three or four days off.

  • We'll be back in for a couple of days and then might get another day off for a couple days off the following probably not one of the break and finish the season a week earlier.

  • Yeah, so they can go away before the European Championships or the World Cup because usually these players, now that the season finishes in it, that rough their bank striking again.

  • Most a lot has been said about winter break, it being helping for people's physical, mental well being.

  • Do you think is needed in the primitive?

  • A winter break, a longer winter break along?

  • I just don't think a well.

  • This this two weeks z relevant isn't one way one weekend way.

  • Could this couple that this could happen, right?

  • This could have.

  • We could have this break and then we could get a snowfall and all of sudden it snows and no games the following weekend.

  • You know, because there's always around the grounds and it's dangerous.

  • I know the pitches, all right, don't get me wrong.

  • But the ground outside, outside they're dangerous, said the games don't play.

  • Then we fly another midweek weigh ever getting.

  • If you're a man that you want, you want anything longer.

  • You want three weeks, Really.

  • We're going so you can go to plays right?

  • There you go.

  • Five days off.

  • Go on, get yourself some sunshine, come back, have five days of training.

  • They have a weekend off and then back into a week and then the thing.

  • Then they can go to places like the mango there for five days together with pre season again and at least two weekends where there's no games at all.

  • Simply why did they not play off Saturday Wednesday, early on in the season?

  • Because they often start the season.

  • It's very much like Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday Tuesday.

  • Or get rid of that ridiculous international break.

  • Which happens in what end of August September.

  • You know they know that one right?

  • The start about free games in play tunes you would do.

  • Yeah, that's a nonsense.

  • Internationally scheduling and a lot of time.

  • That's friendlies, innit?

  • Player.

  • So get rid of that.

  • Play to Premier League games then and then You can have a proper winter break looking towards a tournament, obviously, later on the following summer.

  • And we talk about players mental, physical well being.

  • What do you think it would benefit?

  • The English National seems well, if there was an extended winter break, because that's another argument that has been discussed.

  • Can you see a extended winter Great benefits in England?

  • No, I don't think it will make a difference.

  • To be honest from the players turn not they know what they've got to do, Um, and plus Gareth's sake, he wants to get that club feel so he wants to plays in as much as possible to get them galvanized and get them Joe together.

  • So for me, I think it won't effect.

  • I won't think you're fit their national team.

I'm gonna start by talking about Liverpool.
