This is designed to lock on the coupler of a trailer, thus preventing a hitch from being attached and making tow away theft more difficult.

The product appears to be made from a chrome plated zinc casting the same construction probably opens this up to heat attacks, and that may be something we investigate in a future video.

But today we're going to see what it takes to pick this open Master Lock claims that this lock has an advanced locking mechanism, which resists picking and prying.

It sure looks like an ordinary wafer lock to May, but the only way to tell if this resist picking is to give it a shot.

So let's do that right now.

If we look back here, we can see that the key way is covered with a shudder that can be held open with the tension tool, and I'm going to be using one of the's wave rakes just that fast.

So as you saw, this lot can be defeated very quickly with a relatively unskilled raking attack.

And contrary to the claims on the locks packaging, it's really hard to imagine a lock that resists picking less than this one.
