  • Which is crazy to think back on how much has happened since then.

  • Not only did I learn CS, but since then I've worked is a ta at Harvard, taught CS 50 at Yale, and now I'm teaching CS 52 high school students in Hanover, New Hampshire.

  • But none of that matters right now.

  • What matters right now is who I'm here with.

  • You introduce yourself, please.

  • Everyone on Santa Mendoza from California.

  • And I'm a freshman here.

  • Harvard.

  • He's full auto.

  • California?

  • I'm from Los Angeles.

  • Committee?

  • California.

  • It's a rough transition.

  • The weather is very different.

  • But I'm glad to be here.

  • Experience?

  • No.

  • For the first time and just get to be here during the holidays.

  • It really makes it.

  • Is this your winter outfit?

  • Yeah, I know.

  • It's not that good today.

  • So you have a jacket?

  • Yeah.

  • Boots on a brand new brand.

  • New.

  • How long have you on them for?

  • About a month.

  • Oh, my God.

  • You buy them here?

  • Yeah.

  • Order them online.

  • Order them online.

  • People are holding up.

  • There are some black timberland boots are pretty good.

  • Well, good luck.

  • Thank you.

  • Talking for years.

  • Okay.

  • Okay.

  • So tell us about your project.

  • What was the inspiration behind your project and what is it?

  • All right.

  • So basically, I probably called What's the move?

  • And it was inspired by a lot of frustrating weekends where I was just sitting around thinking, What's the move?

  • You know, like Harvard's not a big state school, so it's not known for its parties.

  • So my friends are sitting there wondering what parties have you go to.

  • And there was always a struggle to find a party.

  • So basically, you can show me how it works.

  • Face jacket of that site that tracks all the parties, and essentially, on the very beginning of the page, it says the party name would dorm such house parties in Okay, The room, the room number, the day, And who who the parties hosted by.

  • Okay, you're wasting a lot of parties.

  • Yeah.

  • I don't know if I want to host a party.

  • What do I do?

  • Essentially you click the button that says, make party.

  • I like that and say what kind of party you want to do?

  • What's my party name?

  • Um, uh, uh, Computer science and cookies.

  • Okay, That's a party where we're gonna bake cookies and talk about computer science.

  • That sounds like a party to go to, Let's put it, But it's gonna be at night because it's gonna be lit.

  • So that's that's tomorrow night.

  • I don't want it Tuesday.

  • Okay, Friday.

  • Let's go.

  • Friday, Friday, 10 11 12 13 13.

  • Yeah.

  • 13 9 PM That sounds good, right?

  • People are gonna get after, like, 9 30 Yeah.

  • Pregnant on room.

  • Oh, my gosh.

  • Uh, let's go with be four for before.

  • What way?

  • Go take post party and then go back to the page.

  • And that is pure science cookies.

  • I Kirkland before and the day I trusted by Johnny.

  • That's fantastic, Johnny.

  • Johnny!

  • Oh, that's like a fake name that you logged it already.

  • What?

  • Johnny does the mornings, my party essentially say Sajani went toe RCB pizza.

  • His own party, you know.

  • Okay, so fix his party on since he's hosting the party isn't being cookies, right?

  • Okay.

  • Hi.

  • Zp on.

  • Say, I wonder who's going to our party.

  • You know, we take our ZPM foe and you say you think your party and you get more info on As of now, Johnny's anyone attending and he's bringing hickeys.

  • Can you show me the map?

  • Yeah.

  • Thistles.

  • What?

  • Oh, my goodness.

  • So essentially, as of now, my map directions with dorms in the yard.

  • Okay, So essentially, wherein emojis is a party is being held and based on the number that indicates the number of party is being held at that location.

  • So, as you can see, I mean, there's there's always popping, and there's four parties happening there.

  • And why are we here?

  • Exactly?

  • Did you take the emoji?

  • It takes youto a table that says other parties names where they are.

  • They're obviously and when they're happening and who they're hosted by, you're assuming There you go on.

  • Yeah, basically, I think this is phenomenal.

  • How So three months ago when you arrived here and you signed up for CS to take CS 50.

  • How much computer science of you know?

  • How much programming did you not tell you?

  • Two years in high school, I had a little bit of experience, but so what was this experience like?

  • Is that a new experience?

  • And I could see how fast I was learning new languages, because I before this I had only known python.

  • Okay, And a little bit of job is good, but I came here and I learned I don't have a worker databases.

  • I don't work with the eyes.

  • And it was just an incredible experience, you know, It's like something that that I would I would hear people talk about, you know, if you would always say like, Oh, I'm making website is working with databases and the networks and this and that on Then just be ableto make a simple project.

  • I worked with some of those things isn't simple.

  • This is impressive thing all by yourself.

  • You probably another finals and papers to write it in your cold.

  • Yeah, so you know, just, like be ableto make something of myself that like shows How much I've learned is vehicle.

  • That's fantastic.

  • So do you think you're gonna go home?

  • Your dear Finals, go home, Take a break when you come back.

  • Do you think you want to take more computer science classes and something you want to dio?

  • Definitely.

  • I came in as a gun, major.

  • And I don't know, as of now, I'm like, I'm kind of indecisive, I think you think government computer science now, did you take out 10?

  • All right, what's the trick?

  • Of course.

  • Twenties.

  • You take up 20.

  • Yeah.

  • And it wasn't as fun as C.
