and this is "Homeschooling with Nick Thune."

I'm gonna go over a few tips today for parents

who aren't actually teachers

and have no right to be teaching anybody anything.

But now we're stuck with it,

and we're the best our kids are gonna get.

[ Chuckles ]

[ Sighs ]

How far up have you gone in math in school?

-Uh, I don't know. -Okay, good.

Well, we'll just start with... multiplication.

Um...

6 times 4?

Do you know what that is?

-No. -Okay.

Well, it's 6 x 4. and if you look at X,

which is a Roman numeral for 10 -- 6, 10, 4.

So 64.

Got it?

Make them think that they're making something fun.

-Hi. Today I'm making a face mask.

I need a pair of scissors, a piece of paper, and some tape.

-While they're out there making the craft,

you can hang out in the bathroom

and basically do whatever you want to do.

-Dad! I'm done! -What?

-I'm done! -Oh.

Oh, that's great. Good job, son.

-But don't I get one?

-Good job, buddy. All right, here we go.

And you always want to make sure the adults get one first.

Because then, you can help the kids.

-That Mikey died, my doggy.

-Since I do stand-up comedy, I thought this would be

a great time to teach my son about what I do

and let him be an audience member

and teach him audience etiquette.
