Hayao Miyazaki is a Japanese film director, animator, manga artist, illustrator, producer, and screenwriter with a career that has spanned six decades. He's a masterful storyteller, co-founder of the Studio Ghibli, and he is considered one of the most popular and influential animators in cinema. He wrote and directed the highest-grossing film in Japanese history, also being the first anime film to ever win an Oscar, "Spirited Away". Miyazaki's films often contain recurrent themes like humanity's relationship with nature and technology, feminism, and the difficulty of maintaining a pacifist ethic. The protagonists of his films are strong, independent, compassionate, and truthful to their hearts. And that's our goal⏤we must follow what makes our hearts beat. Humans have both the urge to create and destroy. Maybe inside of you, there's negativity, despair, hopelessness, and pessimism, but as Miyazaki says, "There is no need to express that in your life, because you also have light, joy, peace, and hope." Be more interested in what drives you, what makes you feel happy. If your life is broken, remember that the creation of a single world comes from a huge number of fragments and chaos. As it's said in "Princess Mononoke", "Life is suffering. It is hard. The world is cursed. But still, there are reasons to keep living." They say that the best blaze burns brightest, when circumstances are at their worst. On "Kiki's Delivery Service", we learn that we each need to find our own inspiration. And that sometimes it's not easy, but we must fight to find it. If you look closely, there is inspiration from everyday life, so, fight. As "Arrietty" says, "Sometimes you have to fight for the things that are worth fighting for, and life is worth the effort." As Miyazaki says, "Life is a winking light in the darkness." Always believe in yourself. Do this, and no matter where you are, you will have nothing to fear. You cannot alter your fate; however, you can always rise to meet it, if you choose. It's funny how you wake up each day and never really know if it'll be the one that will change your life forever. Just follow your heart and keep smiling.
