hi this is Jennifer from Tarle Speech with and today we have another video on how to
pronounce months of the year today's month is August I hear one main
mistake for this word and I think it's due to spelling I hear many people say
Auguste and it's not al gust it's oh gust so let's go ahead and break that
down we're gonna start with that open oh open your mouth and a wide oval and your
tongue will go to the bottom of your mouth when you do that so the tip of
your tongue will be low in the bottom of your mouth and the back of your tongue
will be pulled up slightly oh oh next we're going to move to that second
syllable gust start with the G again your tongue is going to be low in your
mouth the tongue tip will be down in the bottom of your mouth with the back of
your tongue pulled up then move to that really short schwa sound uh uh and then
we're going to end with the st to do this you're going to put your tongue behind
your top teeth and it's going to be flat in your mouth and high and then you're
going to keep the air moving out of your mouth to stop that air you're going to
touch the tip of your tongue to the back of your top front teeth and then you're
going to go ahead and pull it down for that T gust gust so let's put it all
together August August August August August
