In a relatively small area of the Alaska peninsula, Lake Clark National Park is only reachable by boat and by airplane, preferably a float plane. Lake Clark National Park in southwestern Alaska. It's speckled with vital salmon streams, lakes and snowcapped volcanoes. It touches the eastern shore of the Cook Inlet. Fishing is so good that in season sport fishermen on Fisher women flock here from the four corners because these lakes and rivers are among the best stops. Responding salmon here, the visitor finds an astounding back to back variety of scenic wonders amaze of mountains, lakes and rivers laced with waterfalls. Here, the forest is magical. Lake Clark National Park is truly a sanctuary for wildlife and for the human steer. 50 miles long and five miles wide, spectacular, Lake Clark, the park's namesake, is rimmed in the west by the rugged Chipman mountains in summer, floatplane skim its pristine waters as hardworking air taxis park. Visitors strolled a comfortable lodging ride off the water or easy fishing or canoeing with southern end of Lake Clark. Take the trail to nearby Cannoli and falls where it's surging. Glacial River makes its run late. Bush planes carry adventurers to explore the areas. Immense wilderness, enormous vastness of Alaska. Small planes make up for the lack of roads. Oversized wheels make landings positive. Even where there are no air sprints. An air taxi is the best way to take in the grand scale of the unspoiled Lake Clark region.
