-You started as a -- Didn't you work as an
undercover security guard in Sears?
-That's so funny. It was true.
And I don't even know how you could be
an undercover security guard,
but in Sears, yeah, I wore regular clothes.
-Like, what does that mean? Walk me through this.
-Well, so, I mean, you kind of wear regular
Sears clothes so you mix in.
-Are you a mannequin?
Like, a moving -- You stand there?
-Yeah.
No, you just kind of walk around and look like
you're shopping for stuff and you just
keep your eye on people like, "Hey."
But a guy walked out with a lawnmower one time,
and I had no idea he was stealing it.
Like, he was...
-Stole a lawnmower? -It's such a bold move.
Could you imagine just, like, grabbing a lawnmower
and just walking out?
I was like, "Obviously, that guy bought that lawnmower.
There's no way." -There's no way. Yeah.
You wouldn't steal a lawnmower.
-I went and got the door for him.
"Hey, here you go, buddy." -You opened the door for him.
-Yeah. "Hey, hey, get out of here."
-Wow! Wow. He took a lawnmower. That's the way to do it.
See, that's the thing. -I got fired.
-Yeah.
How's the fam?
How is everybody doing in the family?
-We're good, man. -Yeah?
-My son is off to college, his first year.
-Is that right? -Yeah.
Went to Arizona, so, you know... -Oh, that's beautiful.
[ Cheers and applause ] -Arizona?
-Arizona is beautiful. -He's off to party in college.
-It really is.
Yeah, oh, that's a beautiful place.
It's a fun place to party.
Who is this beautiful little girl?
Your granddaughter.
-Yeah, this is my granddaughter, Kylo.
I call her my grand-cookie. -Aww! How old is she?
-She is 3, man.
And she, like, right after that cute picture,
she grabbed and smashed my hat up, right then.
-Yeah.
-Aah! -Do you like being a grandpa?
-I do. I mean, it's cute.
I mean, you know, because she was just visiting
and she came in.
They were leaving -- You know, you got grandkids,
like, the purpose of them.
They come in, and she was there for three or four days.
And it was like, "Okay, bye, guys."
-Time to go. Bye. Yeah.
-I'm gonna get some sleep.
-Let's talk about "The Neighborhood."
Congrats. Season 2 happened on Monday night over on CBS.
-Yeah, man.
-When you first got involved, you told me that
there was something you thought was missing.
-Yeah, yeah.
You know, it was -- Our executive director --
I mean, producer Jim Reynolds, it was about his story,
you know, moving into a black neighborhood,
but he didn't really have the perspective of the black people.
So when he was writing it, it was more like
what he thought black people thought.
And I was like, "Nah." You know?
-Yeah.
-Like, so that's when I got involved,
and we were able to kind of, like, jell and make the show,
you know, what it turned out to be.
And it's really been successful,
and we're having a lot of fun with it, man, so --
-You got to be proud of it, 'cause it's a great show.
-Yeah, man, I'm having a good time.
Great cast -- you know, Max and Tichina Arnold.
and Beth Behrs.
We're having a great time, man. -Oh, that's fun.
I want to show everyone a clip.
Here's Cedric the Entertainer in "The Neighborhood."
Take a look at this.
-Calvin, you in the kitchen?
-Oh, we just letting ourselves
into each other's houses now?
-Picked up the napkins and the plates.
Went with the clear ones
so you can see the food from both sides.
Ooh! Looks like you're making your sauce.
-Yeah, that's right.
-Everyone back at home loved my sauce.
I have a secret ingredient.
-Oh, good. Why don't you keep it a secret.
-Do me a favor.
Do me a favor -- keep that a secret.
-Yeah, exactly.
-Cedric the Entertainer, everybody.
