Please tell her I said hi. -She's doing great. She's just went to India. -Did she really? -Yeah. And, like, last year, she went to Machu Picchu. -Wow. -She's really living her best life. -I love that. -Which is pretty exciting when you're 72. -I love it. Betty, right? -Betty. [ Cheers and applause ] -Good for you. -Hi, Betty! -Since the last time you've been here, "Big Little Lies 2" came out, and you crushed it. -Oh, thank you! -You were amazing. You were fantastic. -Thank you. -You're so good. Everybody's great. -I love that cast so much. We have so much fun. -But that was great. This season was great. Will there be a third season or no? -Well, you know, I don't know. -Not sure? -I don't know. I mean, I guess it matters, like, if the audience wants it. So, I guess, do you want it? [ Cheers and applause ] -Yes. We'd love to see -- I'd love that. -Okay. -Okay, done. And now you have to do it. -Okay. -Now you have to do it. -I don't know. -But, I mean, you -- You produced that, as well. -Yeah. -And you're doing that -- you're producing all this stuff now. Congratulations on all of this. -Thank you. -'Cause you're doing that. -I have great partners. -Is that was it is? -I have Nicole Kidman as my producing partner on that one. Jennifer Aniston is my producing partner on "The Morning Show." -I know. -Amazing. [ Cheers and applause ] -How did you -- How did you get into the producing part? And what made you want to get into that? -You know, I read a really crappy script. And it got me so mad. I was like, "This is the worst script I've ever read in my entire life." It was like eight years ago. And I was like, "I don't want to do it." And I called my agent, and I said, "I'm not doing this. This is terrible." It's like the girlfriend, she was dumb, and she had no point. And my agent said to me, "Every woman in town wants this part." And I thought, "If this is the kind of stuff that's in Hollywood, like, I have to start making my own stuff." -Wow. -So, I started, and then it just, like, went from there. -Good for you. -It's so great. And the partnerships are really what make it happen. It's really incredible, and I just finished a show with Kerry Washington, and it's just so great to be able to have these amazing partners. -Yeah, you have like 20-something things in production right now. The book-club thing. I love you. I follow you on Instagram. -I love your book club! -Really? -Yes! [ Laughter ] It's great. -But we do one a year. [ Laughter ] -We do -- It's not really a book club if you get a long time to read it. -No judgment. -Yeah, all right. No judg-- thank you. I'm really -- I'm not a strong reader. -You're a busy guy. [ Laughter ] -But I love that you're doing that, and you have great taste and great choices, so it's really fun to watch -- -I love books. I always have, ever since I was a little girl. -Really? -My grandma used to read to me when I was little on the couch, and she would do all the voices... -Yeah. -...of every different character and I think that just made me love reading. -I catch up with you on Instagram, and I saw this thing that you're really getting into. You want your son -- You wanted your son to help you out with TikTok. -TikTok, right. -You are obsessed with TikTok. -I'm obsessed with, like, "What is TikTok?" Everybody's talking about TikTok. All the teenagers are on TikTok. And they come over to my house, and they make the TikToks. -Oh, my God. -I'm like, "What is a TikTok?" -Stop saying TikTok. [ Laughter ] But the video you posted is really funny. -It was really fun. -Take a look at this -- this video of Reese with her son getting into TikTok. -Will you help me make a video for TikTok? -Okay, yeah, I'll do that. -Okay. Roly, roly, roly. Just like that? -No, not like that. -Break the legs, like... Break the legs -- What's this move? -Um -- -Oh, I saw one with a girl doing something about bones for Halloween. -What was she doing? You look pretty cool when you do that. [ Laughter ] [ Cheers and applause ] -I love that. -Oh, wait. You know what he taught me? -What? -Do you know how to hit the woah? -Oh, yeah. -Do you know how to do that? -Yes. [ Laughter ] -You throw it to me. -All right. -Oh. -Oh! [ Cheers and applause ] I love that you did that. -Everybody knows it, right? I'm just, like... [ Laughter ] It's like you're driving a car. -All right. That's the way -- That's how you hit the woah. -That's how you hit the woah. See? -Maybe we'll do that -- We made a TikTok video earlier. -We did. -Together. Basically, it's a challenge to see who -- -It's a challenge. -...who won and who lost, and the loser has to do a dance challenge on TikTok. -Yes. -If you go to our show -- "Tonight Show's" TikTok account, you'll see what we did, and it's pretty fun. -It is fun. -But maybe we should do a hit the woah, too, as well. -That would be fun. -Right? I'll do that. I'll go, "Yo, Reese." -Yeah. -"Hit the woah." Yeah. All right, perfect. [ Cheers and applause ] -My son is gonna be so embarrassed. -Good. That's what's supposed to happen. -That's for you, Deacon. -Let's talk about "The Morning Show" on Apple TV "plu"-- -"Plu." -Apple TV Plus -- "plu." Apple TV "plu". -Apple. Apple TV. -You and Jennifer Aniston -- -What are we -- -I don't know. I don't know why I'm doing that. I'm off the rails. [ French accent ] I do it all the time. -Comment ca va? Trés bien? -Why not a pear? Pear, Pear -- Pear TV. -Pear TV? -Pear seems more French. -A Paris? -Oh, a Perrier, oh, yeah. [ Laughter ] [ Normal voice ] But this is called "The Morning Show." -Yes. -You and Jennifer Aniston -- Stop right there, I'd watch. -I mean, just stop. -Just stop, then you add -- -Wait, hold on. Steve Carell. -Steve Carell! That's what I'm talking about. -Just stop, just stop. -Stop right there. -Just stop. -Billy Crudup! I would watch everything right there. -Gugu Mbatha-Raw. What? -I mean, oh, my gosh. She, by the way, put your money on that girl. -No kidding. -Yeah. -She's so talented. -She's gonna explode. -It's my second project with her. -Oh, it is? -Yeah. -But -- -We go way back. -You're getting super big, great buzz on this. Do you want to explain what the show is? -Oh, yeah. So, it's a morning news show, and it's on a big network. And day one, one of the male co-stars is accused of sexual harassment and fired. And so, Jennifer Aniston has to go on air and carry the whole show by herself. And then you'll find out, by episode two, that I somehow get to be on her show... -Oh. -...with her. -And that doesn't really fly with her? -Well, it's just chaos. It's craziness. -Yeah. -It's very cool, and it's -- it's very topical and funny. -Yeah, I want to show a clip. Here's Reese Witherspoon in "The Morning Show." Take a look at this. -I can't wait to hear how I'm gonna alienate Americans. I've only been contending with the misogynistic world of journalism for 15 years. I've only been told about a thousand different ways I'm too liberal, too conservative, too in between. "You have too much chin." "You're not smiling enough." "You're too brunette." "Do you want to go blonde?" "Where are your boobs?" "Put your boobs out." "Wait, put your boobs away!" "You're attracting men." "You're scaring women!" "You know, try not to be so confrontational. Men, don't want to [bleep] you." "Don't be so angry. Women feel criticized." But here -- no, no. Here I'm gonna transform into the aspirational, inoffensive dream girl. Here I'm gonna become the Mother Teresa of the morning news. And I'm pretty sure that Mother Teresa had too many [bleep] wrinkles for HD. [ Cheers and applause ] -That is how you do it! That is how you do it. Learn from the best. Reese Witherspoon, everybody!
