Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles ♪♪ MUSIC ♪♪ We are at Gracias Madre and it is a vegan restaurant. I think this is the first time I've been to a vegan restaurant with Crystal. I was actually surprised she wanted to come here. Well the both of us - we're not vegan but we wanted to try something different. And this place had amazing reviews. It's kinda like the hot spot right now in LA and we're right on Melrose. Their menu was really interesting when we saw it online and one of the things that Crystal keeps raving about is this jackfruit. She says it tastes like meat even though it's not meat so I'm pretty excited to try that. And we just ordered our margaritas so we're just kind of waiting right now for our drinks and then we'll look over the menu and put in all of our delicious orders. Woohoo! Our margaritas are here! Thank you! Alright so we got our margaritas. And... we just ordered margaritas... me and Candy, we both got the same thing It's the regular margarita but interesting thing is they have a nice bar here but they only serve tequila and mezcal. And I guess mezcal is like a Mexican liquor and it's more smoky. And they make a margarita out of that but I wasn't sure if I liked smoky kind of liquor so I just ordered it with a regular tequila. So as Candy was saying, she was like, "Hey, just so you know, this is a vegan restaurant..." And I'm like, "Yeah I know, I know." Because one of my co-workers... we had like this potluck one day at work and he made a kind of a pulled pork kind of dish and it was made out of jackfruit. Which I couldn't even tell. It tasted like meat. So ever since then, I've kind of been a big fan of Mexican vegan dishes. So I thought this place would be really great to try. And we just ordered some guacamole. Pretty typical for a Mexican restaurant. But I'm also thinking of getting that... what was it?...ummm... what was that thing she just pointed out? CANDY: Cauliflower? Cauliflower... with some kind of like... oh yeah, cauliflower in cashew nacho cheese. That sounded really interesting. And of course the tacos with jackfruit. Really interesting stuff here. Cheers! ♪♪ MUSIC ♪♪ Mmmm... it's one of the best margaritas I've ever had. CRYSTAL: It is really good. It doesn't even... I can't taste the alcohol! It's got the perfect amount of lime in there. I can probably get drunk off of this. Hahaha. Like it's so good! I need to like drink it really slow. CRYSTAL: Yeah We're not going to be able to wake up tomorrow morning if I have like... yeah, this is really good. CRYSTAL: I know. Love that margarita. This is my drink. MY drink! ♪♪ MUSIC ♪♪ CANDY: We haven't even ate the guacamole yet. The guacamole's really good. CANDY: Yeah? The chips are really good. ♪♪ MUSIC ♪♪ CANDY: Tastes like meat? It doesn't necessarily taste like meat, the jackfruit, but it has kind of like the texture of meat I mean, it looks like meat. It looks like pulled pork. ♪♪ MUSIC ♪♪ It tastes like cauliflower, hahaha! Mmm! Actually, there's like a little bit of a kick to it. What was in this again? It's a little bit spicy. CRYSTAL: It's like nacho cheese or something... let's see... cashew nacho cheese and lemon. Oh... I don't taste the cashew... maybe because I just had some guacamole and I'm mixing things up a little bit. But I do like that it's... uh... how do you say it? It's got some weight to it... so it's kind of... I don't really know how to explain it. I'm doing a horrible job explaining it but it's good! ♪♪ MUSIC ♪♪
