Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Last year we made some big plans for 2020, but when 2020 came everything changed. Now as we assess this year and our Life in Japan, we ask: what does the future hold for us, and after all we've learned, how can we plan for it? What will come of the days ahead? [Life in Japan Theme Song] I find it amazing that I can live here so long and yet still come across places like this That I've been by everyday and yet didn't even know was here. Sayonara! Sayonara! See you tomorrow, Daddy? No, in a couple of days. A couple of days?! Oh, I know — big hug. How many days? How many days? How many days? It's 3 days - 2 nights. I love you! Bye! I love you! But you always tickle me! Aw, I won't be here to tickle you? I'll have to call mommy and say "Tickle Sarah, like this!" Sayonara! Sayonara! No! No! Anna Cakes! Everybody's heading off to school! And Mama chan is getting all ready for her Japanese class. Yep. Take the girls, take herself. That's a lot of school. OK, have a good trip. So today we've come up to Lake Yamanakako. Our whole Paz Team has come up here. And our Paz team is what's behind Paz Coffee Shop, it's behind Paz Church, Choose Life, It's behind so many different things. And we're up here for a vision retreat so we can do planning for the next year. Planning these days is a pretty hard thing to do but we're attempting to do it. What have we got here John? We've got some Paz Coffee, Honey Blend. Oh, come on! Very nice. On the road we can enjoy it. That's right. I'm going to go ahead. Nothing scientific here though. Shameless promotion right now, our coffee shop is selling our coffee beans online I'm going to leave a link below so you can get some of our Paz Coffee Beans, huh? Our Paz team had some beautiful plans for 2020, and they were swept away by the Corona virus! However it was still amazing to see what we were able to accomplish. Analyzing what failed and what worked this year helped us plan for next year and beyond. Things may have changed, but the opportunities are greater than ever. Whatcha drawing here? Joshua, Sarah, and maybe Becca and Anna. Becca because she's the tallest. Sweet! That's awesome, I can't wait to see it when it's done. Are you Becca sensei? Did it! OK Now, play this bottom part. It's the bottom, so which hand? This hand. Yep. Do we... do we have to count to four? Like this... It can be slowly So right here are some very important new things. I am out of space on my hard drives, I am setting up my first home server. There it is! A place for 8 hard drives. I'm going to fill this puppy up with all kinds of storage, Aw, puppy! Put these in it, make it super fast, And have tons of storage for the next years Oooo, it's a perfect fit! Alright, where did that little screw go? Joshua, he loves red. Sarah, she loves purple. Anna... I love orange! And Becca loves blue. Oh! Ok, that's good. And it's Paz Coffee Shop! Let's get singing! Worship team, please come to the front. 3, 2, 3, 2, 1 (Singing) Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Hallelujah, Praise the Lord. (Singing) We can sing, we can dance, 'cause every day we praise the Lord. Turn around one time, jump up high, two times Raise your hands three times, 'cause every day we praise the Lord. Pastor, please. This is the Bible. Today we're going to talk about David and Goliath. (Everyone) Ah!! Goliath just fell! Please come up Baby Mario and Toad! And Yoshi! I am Goliath! Is there anyone who's going to fight me today? I will! Ah ha ha! Are you kidding me? You're sending this little stupid kid to fight me? Yea, he looks tiny, but he's strong and brave! Get ready! Slingshot power!! And then get Goliath's knife and cut his head off! AHHHHHH! Thank you, thank you. Baby Mario and Toad and Yoshi showed you how David was brave. Yeah! We're so fun! He wasn't even scared because God was with him. So from now on, don't be scared, because God is with you! The preaching's over, let's have fun! Yeah! Have fun! I am on my way to church, yes, it's Sunday, and today I have the awesome privilege of giving the message. What do you think when you see the Bible here? (Japanese translation) We read the stories of how God transformed people's lives (Japanese translation) God has a story for your life, and it's a good one. (Japanese translation) My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. (Japanese translation) Man it was a great day at church — I'm looking forward to getting back home Probably eating some pizza I would think, seeing the kids. Oh yeah. Look at this water balloon! Ah! Look at that water balloon! Can I hit the camera? No! Not at all! The camera can't get wet! Can I hit you? No, because I'm holding the camera! Are you the judge? Make sure everything stays fair? Make sure the mess gets cleaned up. Look what finally came in! I've been waiting for this... What are those? It's a hard drive! That's a scary fox on it. That's an Iron Wolf. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Oh, I just really want to pop those! OK And the aftermath... All of it's in here now. We're going to power it up and get it going! It's the moment of truth. Oo, yes, that's a good sign. Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! I'm getting wet! Ah! Hey! You're wetting my feet!
