Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Welcome to Shibuya Tokyo! We've come here to eat some ramen in this series we traveled the entire country to come and eat ramen. We've been up to Asahikawa where we had some delicious SHIO and SHOYU ramen we went to Sapporo ramen alley where we had some butter corn miso ramen. We also went down to Fukuoka had some tonkotsu pork bone ramen and we also went to Kyoto's Ichijoji ramen town and today we're gonna have one of the most colorful ramens that I've ever seen in my entire life BLUE RAMEN. Shibuya is Tokyo's bustling media center. Bright lights. Loud. Many corners to this town. It's crowded but always moving about 500 meters from Shibuya station is where we'll find Tokyo's famous blue ramen inside the building is a ramen shop with an owner who loves what he does make a delicious bowl of chicken ramen let's talk to Takao-san about his unique ramen It's all about that x factor. How to be different, be more fun a quick look at the menu you see here it's the color it's a chicken based broth soup made fresh daily the chef starts with that heats it up to the right temperature some garlic is added then the secret sauce had it very sauce this was a man the noodles are boiled when the shop is packed it gets pretty active back here the noodles are cooked for a couple of minutes the broth is added to the balut on a chicken broth is mostly clear so it mixes well with the blue not altering the color much the noodles are strained then add it folded neatly in the broth I can't keep my eyes off that blue soup usually it's the noodles or egg or toppings but here that blue. Wow! The color does impress it kind of reminds me of Ogasawara when I was scuba diving they're going around the islands you could see the beautiful blue color of the water the Pacific - Bonin Blue they called it it really reminds me of the water above Ogsawara I guess it's like a Hawaii blue maybe let's try this ramen here we go ITADAKIMASU now I know this is a chicken based ramen you can see the chashu is actually chicken instead of pork being different makes it a fun and memorable experience so the blue color has come into the noodles a little bit it's really good at salty so it's a like a seal based ramen it's really good I don't mean the color of it you know you kind of lose that traditional color of the noodles which could blue it I like that the blue soup has turned the chicken steak blue to this ramen is more than just a gimmick it's really good light in the stomach compared to heavier tonkotsu pork bone ramen now the Hangzhou Gotama go this is my favorite part I think the egg is more striking uncut and all white and the blue soup everyone knows the half boiled hanjuku tamago eggs are my favorite topping it's not oily that's one of the things I like about it now they add a little bit of chicken oil to it perfect balance the color just gives you a different feeling though it doesn't feel like all right this is ramen but it doesn't feel like a meeting room it's just a different experience I think because the color that's good that's really good there are many dimensions to ramen to say one is the best in the world can never be completely true because it's totally up to each person's individual tastes someone who doesn't want a heavy ramen and is looking to take a trip away to the calm tropical island waters for a few minutes would love this I wanted to find out the secret of the blue and Takao-san's philosophy behind his ramen I mean that almost incredible fun is a recipe I think we can all get behind fans of the blue ramen have brought in Hatsune Miku figures to decorate the shop with their blue eyes and blue hair I think she'd approve of this delicious blue raman I know I do if you're in Shibuya definitely make a pit stop for a fun bowl of ramen and escape for a few minutes to a new delicious color ramen blue if you liked it hit that subscribe button and check out another one of our shows don't miss my second live streaming channel Only in Japan*GO and check out location photos on Instagram http://instagram.com/onlyinjapantv mata ne
