  • earlier today, Tyler was introduced as the 26th head coach in Clippers franchise history.

  • Lou, of course, had previously coached in Cleveland for four seasons, winning a championship in 2016 and spent last season as an assistant on Doc Rivers of Staff Tile.

  • Ooh definitely has a championship resume, but why did he choose to take over the Clippers?

  • But I'm excited because the roster is is unbelievable and have a chance.

  • An opportunity culture team like the Clippers, who I love the roster.

  • I love the team.

  • I love the stand for the organization, you know, get Mr Bomber and him kind of just being genuine of the person that he is and taking care everyone and making sure everybody's in a great place.

  • Um, that's the type of environment I wanna be in, and that's the type of environment that you need to win the championship.

  • Everyone has to be on the same page.

  • Everyone has to be together, and it has to be a family.

  • And when you start there, I think it's easy to be a championship team because everyone's invested.

  • Everyone's a part of it.

  • Everyone's happy to be here, and that's what I like Well, actually chose me.

  • Um, you know, it feels good to be watching.

  • You know, I think win the championship going in three straight finals, the coach and sitting out, You know, last year and kind of collecting my thoughts and doing a lot of film work, looking at a lot of different teams, play a lot of coaches and what they were doing.

  • And, um, for me to be here, they chose me.

  • And it feels good to be wanted.

  • Okay, I don't blame him.

  • It always feels good to be wanted, right?

  • So Perk Lou knows his way around a super team, obviously.

  • So how does his promotion to head coach affect this Clipper squad going into next season?

  • Well, you know Lou, Lou brings.

  • He's a student of the game.

  • He's a stud.

  • He's a guy that doesn't show a lot of emotions on the sideline during the game.

  • He live by that motto that practices off for coaches and games off of players.

  • Now, with that being said, I'm gonna get straight to it.

  • The pressure is on for the Los Angeles Clippers.

  • You heard Steve Bomber at the start of the show.

  • They have the best coach in the game of basketball, which I don't agree with.

  • I believe that's air exposure, but I.

  • Lewis has stood.

  • The Clippers have zero excuses.

  • This year is championship of bus tile, UJA said that they have a talented roster.

  • They they have all the pieces that their family well, they're gonna have to show it this year, and the pressure is on him.

  • The pressure is on the Clippers organization.

  • The pressure, the pressure is on, the players cool a little and Paul George zero excuses is championship or bus.

  • Look, Perk played for Tyler.

  • You in Cleveland.

  • I covered that Cavs team on a daily basis for years with.

  • Tyler was a coach.

  • We both know he is an excellent coach, but he's got a problem here and that problem.

  • This is a disconnect on that roster, and it's not clear where the disconnect is.

  • Is it because they had injuries?

  • Is that because there's an issue between the holdover players and the new players?

  • Is it a matter of holding the star players to a certain level?

  • Is it a matter of a mismatch on the roster?

  • There was obviously something that went haywire, and Tyler is gonna have to dig in, and he's got no excuse not to know because he was sitting there.

  • He's gonna have to dig in the next few months, identify the problem and correct it.

  • Because this team has Perks said has no excuses.

  • There is nothing on this team that isn't, UH, that isn't there to be a championship team.

  • And Tyler is gonna have to roll his sleeves up.

  • And there will be no answer other than championship.

  • Where he was will be deemed a good job.

  • Perk.

  • Brian brings up a good point, and we heard time mentioned that to in his press conference that we just rolled out, which is the togetherness aspect of this.

  • How does he start building that camaraderie?

  • That chemistry off the floor, which seemed to be an issue last season and affected their play on the court to Well, George, First of all, I've been preaching this.

  • They don't they don't have a leader.

  • Coe.

  • Linda is a great player, but he's not a leader.

  • If I'm the Clippers, I am knocking at the door the start of free agency and trying to go get Rajon Rondo.

  • That's who they need.

  • They need a guy that's gonna be able to hold them accountable on and off the court.

  • God is gonna be able That's gonna preach sacrifice that's gonna lose himself in the team.

  • They gotta have a leader.

  • They gotta go out there and get a true point guard.

  • That's gonna put these guys on the floor in position.

  • Toby.

  • Successful.

  • They lack leadership skills.

  • Look, we've been hearing so many whispers come from out of that clip organization about koala Leonard getting special treatment.

  • Uh, you know, Louisville did what he did for us going to Magic City.

  • When you're on a championship team, you don't have those type of problems.

  • We have never heard anything.

  • The two teams that went to the finals this year, the Miami Heat in the Los Angeles Lakers.

  • We didn't hear those type of problems coming out of the locker room.

  • We didn't hear those type of whispers off LeBron James and Anthony Davis getting special treatment.

  • We didn't hear about Jimmy Butler getting special treatment.

  • No, you need leaders in that locker room.

  • Miami had you done is Haslem and Andre Iguodala.

  • They had Jimmy Butler, the Los Angeles Lakers had multiple leaders LeBron James, Ragen Rondo, Jared Dudley, JaVale McGee and they were able to police themselves.

  • And that's what the Clippers need.

  • Yeah, they definitely need some leadership.

  • I think we all can agree on that.
