Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles How close is Tom Brady at the age of 43 right this minute to being as good as any quarterback in the national foot right there. He's right there with Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson. He looks like Tom Brady from 2017 to me when he was 35 touchdowns in like, six interceptions and doing whatever he wants with the football, like that's the thing. Tom Brady, when protected, still does whatever he wants with the ball trajectory tempo, ball placement, where it needs to be thrown. Who it needs to be thrown to, like if you keep him clean, he's the best quarterback from the pocket in football right now. The tape shows it the number shows, and that would be like the, like, really concerning thing to me if I'm a defense because the offensive line is the UN under mentioned part of the Bucks team, they protect Tom Brady really well. If they're gonna protect him the same way through this season, think about it. The only game that he's really looked like he struggled outside of the first game of the year with Chicago, and that's because Chicago's defensive line could get some pressure on them. If they keep him clean, he's going to be the most deadly passing quarterback in football. This that was also a Thursday night game, and he played without a lot of his weapons. For whatever it's worth, I'm not trying to make excuses, but are see something we really haven't touched on because it happened at the beginning of the weekend is that now he's gonna get Antonio Brown, or at least in a week and a half. He is. Now. You're playing against a defense against the Buccaneers. What you gonna do? Well, what you gonna do is you're gonna call your parents, tell them don't watch the game. You're gonna let your kids know that you know what? Today's not Daddy's Day, and you're going to sit around and pray because there's truly nothing you can do with this team. Think about yesterday. Yesterday, Mike Evans didn't get it catch until the fourth quarter, and they were still putting up points in droves. Whether it was Rob Gronkowski, Scotty Miller, Chris Godwin, Ronald Jones, Leonard for net, the names Cameron break, they could throw the ball to anybody. They can run the football with any of those backs. And when they protect Tom Brady, Dan is right. He could still do all the things that he's always done throughout his career, and that makes this team extremely scary. If you're Tampa Bay Bucks fans, this is not your cream sickle. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is a whole new generation off this team, and it has to be fun to watch. But I'm gonna mention something, and I know Rex will understand this. Devin White made two plays yesterday on Derek Carr that can't be ignored. He drops back into his own. This is a 44 kid, and Derek Carr is trying to make a play, and he closes on him as fast as one of Devon White's horses closes on him when he's trying to get him out the gate. This was amazing. It was physical, and that's where this team has changed. Can they score points? Yes, but they could play defense with the best of them. They rush the quarterback they cover on the back end, and they have two linebackers that do not play games. This is gonna be a tough team to beat in the NFC, and like Dan said, when you protect Tom Brady, he's still in M v P. Rex. You love the defense. Are the Buccaneers the best team in the NFC? Absolutely, They absolutely are. If there's one Achilles heel on their defense is, they give up the deep ball. And so, to me, that means you've got to be able to protect the quarterback against him and allowed time for them to make place. I saw the Chargers had success that way. We saw a little bit yesterday. That's the Onley weakness of defense has. And on offense, you guys, you're exactly right. But I'm gonna I mean, something else to understand is Tom Brady protects himself, and he does it up here. But if you are going to be able to protect the quarterback, nobody has ever been better than Tom Brady in the pocket. You know, you have gone up against him. Probably as many times as any coach. Does he look the same to you as he did 10 years ago? Well, maybe not 10 years ago, but pretty pretty dang close. I mean, he's he put up 370 yards, you know, last week or this week and eso to me? Yeah, he looks so good. But 10 years ago, this guy could actually move a little. I would debate. I would argue that he looked better as a deep ball thrower. You never went against him 10 years ago because trust me, it was an absolute ass whipping every time you e coming back with.
