Everybody knows Wisconsin is the smartest state in the nation. Well I'm going to show you how because it's time for part four of our 50-part series: Better Know A Ballot. Tonight, the greatest state in the nation: Wisconsin! "The Voting Badgers!" What makes Wisconsin the greatest? Well for one thing, it's home to so many fun festivals. Milwaukee alone has Summerfest, Polish Fest, Pride Fest, Asia Fest, German Fest, Croatian Fest, Armenian Fest, Black Arts Fest, Irish Fest, India Fest, Greek Fest, Punk Fest, Taco Fest, Tosa Fest, Harbor Fest, PetFest, Canni Fest, Mitten Fest, Garlic Fest and CrusherFest. Basically, any time more than four Wisconsinites gather, it is legally classified a fest. Another fun fact: Wisconsin is just one of 50 states that have been selected to vote in this year's presidential election. So here's how you can get started voting in Wisconsin right now. We've made it easy by putting the resources you need on betterknowaballot.com. The link for your state is below. First, make sure you're registered to vote. You can register online; just use our link. The deadline is October 14th, so do it now. All registered Wisconsin voters will automatically receive a ballot request form in the mail. Carefully fill it out and either mail it, email it or fax it to your municipal clerk's office with a copy of your photo ID. You can also apply online. Again, you can just use our link to get there. Request your ballot as soon as possible, or there's a chance that your ballot won't arrive in time for you to send it back and have your vote counted, so just do it now. And when you get your ballot, fill it out carefully, and sign where indicated. You'll need one witness. Mail it to the return address provided on the envelope. Wisconsin ballots must be received by 8pm on November 3rd, so if you return your ballot by mail, the U.S. Postal Service recommends sending it no later than October 27th. So play it safe and do it right away! You can also hand deliver your ballot to a drop box or your municipal clerk's office before 8pm on Election Day. Check out our website for hours and locations near you. Now if you want to vote in person, Wisconsin's early in-person voting begins on October 20th.
