  • we're never going hiking again.

  • Welcome to watch Mojo.

  • And today we're counting down our picks for the top 10 creepiest things found in the woods for this list.

  • We're looking at the scariest things people have stumbled across while in the woods.

  • Even though some of these come from semi anonymous sources and as such should be taken with a grain of salt, they're still spooky enough to make us reconsider ever going near the woods again.

  • Mhm Number 10 clowns?

  • A.

  • Ah, lot of people don't like clowns at the best of times.

  • But even folks who don't suffer from cool ra phobia yes, there is an actual name for fear of clowns would get creeped out if they ran into a clown in the middle of the woods.

  • Around 2016 there was actually a rash of mysterious clown sightings, many of which happened in rural areas.

  • In one story out of South Carolina, a group of Children even warned their parents about a group of clowns who lived nearby and who would try to lure them into the woods.

  • According to deputies, there have been several reports of suspicious characters dressed like clowns, white face paint and all flashing green lasers and enticing kids with large amounts of money.

  • Whether it was a sinister clown conspiracy or just plain old mass panic, the clown sightings took over national headlines before eventually dying down number nine.

  • A shrine to departed pets.

  • Okay, this one is more heartwarming than creepy, but we had to include it anyway.

  • Losing a pet can be a devastating loss, and many find a way to remember their furry companions in the form of tributes and memorials.

  • One such memorial can be found in the Lynn Woods of Massachusetts, where a tree has been decked out with the collars of dearly departed for babies.

  • According to Dan Small, Elin Woods Ranger, the memorial seemingly sprang up on its own before he started working there in the early two thousands.

  • See, this is how you pay tribute to your departed pets without things leading to a pet cemetery situation.

  • Do not go on to the place where the dead number eight Loyang, part man, part scripted, all spooky.

  • This mysterious figure spent years haunting the forests of mall in Switzerland, clad in a cloak, boiler suit and gas mask.

  • The figure never attacked or antagonized anyone who crossed paths with them.

  • But they're creepy.

  • Appearance in silent demeanor left many unsettled, and local Children were terrified at the prospect of going into the woods.

  • The identity of the ghostly figure remains unknown, but for whatever reason, they've chosen to live in isolation, hiding their face and shunning human company.

  • In 2013 a purported suicide note from whoever was under the cloak and mask was found in which they expressed fears that they would be hunted down, ending their tail on a tragic note.

  • Number seven ah, house covered in dolls.

  • Everyone can agree that while sometimes adorable dolls can often give off creepy vibes, so imagine hiking around the woods one day and finding a house covered with UM, as was the case when hikers stumbled upon one such house in the countryside of Russia.

  • What makes the site even more disturbing is the variety of ways in which the dolls air displayed with some of them, notably being literally headless.

  • Some were attached to trees surrounding the area as well.

  • Although the motives behind this display of the house owner are unknown, we wouldn't be surprised if the dolls were part of some creepy ritual.

  • It's a frightening thought because we all know how that could possibly turn out.

  • Hi, its me Chucky.

  • What do you think?

  • Number six.

  • Ah Forest Monster Theo.

  • Human brain has a tendency to organize the shapes we see in our everyday lives into recognizable patterns, most commonly faces called pattern recognition.

  • The phenomenon explains why you can often see faces in clouds or other random formations.

  • It's just the way our brains are wired being social animals and all that.

  • Having been said, it cannot just be pattern recognition that makes this outgrowth, photographed by a reddit user, look like a terrifying forest demon like Come on, just look at it.

  • It's got horns and everything.

  • While not quite as mysterious as other entries on our list.

  • We would turn tail and run if we saw this number five.

  • A pale creature In 2018 a strange video was released, showing what appears to be some type of creature stalking a moose in Canada.

  • The person who shot the video couldn't even explain what she had witnessed.

  • While it remains unknown what she actually saw, many have drawn comparisons to Gollum from the Lord of the rings look.

  • Luckily, the mysterious figure was merely staring and did not harm the moose during the video, although it was facing in the opposite direction.

  • We can't help but wonder how freaked out the moose would be if it saw what was lurking behind it.

  • Number four on unexploded mine Landmines and similar munitions are some of the most dangerous weapons employed in warfare not just for the soldiers on the battlefield but also for those that come after unexploded mines can lay dormant for years after their placed, leading to deaths and injuries among civilians in former war zones.

  • Under international law, when mines delayed, they must be mapped so they could be removed safely at a later dates.

  • All too often, they're not mapped or maps lost on the process of de mining could be a slow and dangerous one.

  • An Arkansas man had a close encounter with one of these lurking dangers.

  • When he found what he initially took for a cannonball after bringing it to a local museum.

  • He was told to his shock that it was actually a landmine from the civil war.

  • The authorities were called and it was safely disposed of though the surrounding area was evacuated for safety number three Pulsating earth There's a whole lot going on in the ground under our feet, from micro organisms and plants to whole critters like ground hogs and moles.

  • But it's easy to forget how much activity is happening under our feet until you run across something like this.

  • Filmed in the forests of sacral car, Quebec, this video seemingly shows a patch of earth pulsating and breathing like a living organism.

  • Is it an earthquake?

  • The rising of an ancient Eldridge?

  • God Ah, bunch of moles having a rager?

  • Not quite.

  • The phenomenon is caused by winds blowing the nearby trees, whose roots systems are being lifted up in the loose earth to displace the ground.

  • The tree was experiencing these strong winds, and that force from the wind gets translated from the tree down towards the roots in the ground, totally explainable but still super weird.

  • To see number two in the river lies a girl.

  • Given how isolated the woods are, it's no surprise that forests and wooded areas are often the sites of violent crimes.

  • It's a sad reality that many dark and terrible things have taken place in the woods, and this sign found by a reddit user seems to at least hint at one.

  • The post shows a sign found in the woods, which bears the words in the river lies a girl in the water swims her blood.

  • Could this be a confession of someone who committed a heinous crime somewhere nearby?

  • In all likelihood, it's probably part of a scavenger hunt, er, geocache puzzle.

  • But it still sends a shiver down our spines before we unveil our topic.

  • Here are some honorable mentions.

  • Unexplained statues for art where you least expect it on abandoned crematorium for abandoned resting places.

  • Number one.

  • The Lady of the Night.

  • The Life of Marie Holmes was not a happy one.

  • After emigrating from England, she arrived in Santa Cruz in 18 97 and began working at a local brothel.

  • Withdrawn and melancholy.

  • Marie lamented the state of her life to the other workers at the brothel, even confiding that Marie Holmes was not her true name.

  • Despondent homes eventually took her own life and was interred beneath a headstone paid for by her friends at the brothel.

  • That headstone later went missing, presumably the work of Vandals.

  • But years later, the headstone was found by a hiker some 12 miles away, relocated to the woods of Davenport by parties unknown.

  • Do you agree with our picks?
