Now in his first year with the Lakers, and LeBron Frank Vogel is an MBA champion. He joins us here on SportsCenter, Frank. We just heard LeBron say that winning a championship is one. The greatest feelings in the world. He's done it four times. This is your first. How would you describe it? Greatest feeling in the world. Same way he would. I mean it. Z really unbelievable. It's what you That's what you live your whole life for. You know, from A from a coaching standpoint, you know, all the hours you put in all you hope for is an opportunity to have a team that has a chance. And, you know, if you have a chance and you put all the pieces together, you have some good fortune. You get this opportunity and it just feels amazing. You know, Frank, every team goes into a season hopeful that they could be in the position where you were to contend for an MBA championship. But the expectations were placed on your squad because of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. How did you manage those expectations while also fueling your team to win that ultimate goal of a championship? Well, expectations air, nothing but noise. You know, you have to get it done on the floor on uh, you know, we knew we had a group that was capable of it, but we had to buy into being a team first team. We had to buy into being a defensive monster, really raising a care factor on that end of the floor. And, you know, making sure that we're playing together and honoring every possession all season long. So, um, you know, that's the biggest thing. If you get that group to commit the way we did, you have a chance and just so proud of our guys. We're proud of our players, uh, for buying into playing the right way and getting this done. This is a first for the NBA, with the pandemic and how this season was completed and how the championship was one. When you put that into perspective, Frank, what impact did it have on this championship run? Not just for you guys been able to win it. But for every team who was down there trying to win it well, the sacrifice, you know, I mean, all of us have been away from our families for over three months, You know what I mean? Like, that's just ah, it's a difficult thing Thio to endure, you know, and credit our guys for really being bought in and just focused on the prize and, you know, thank you, Adam Silver and an entire MBA for for having this opportunity. You know, obviously the bubble that was created here has, has felt has left us all feeling safe throughout the whole thing. And it's really remarkable. The whole set up this arena hotel, the bubble, the testing, you know, all those types of things, these air very, very difficult times. And, you know, just I can't thank Adam Silver and in the in the MBA enough for putting this all together. So the Lakers get championship number 17. Rajon Rondo gets number two. Anthony Davis gets number one. Frank Vogel gets number one. Not bad for a trio of Wildcats. There, Frank. Go cast. That's what about, you know, Kentucky ties Go, cat. Come on. Now, bringing home Frank Vogel here on sports and appreciate a man. Congratulations. Thanks, guys. Take care. Thanks for watching ESPN on YouTube for live streaming sports and premium content.
