Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Andre. Where do you think Tank Davis's? I understand. I think he's the most exciting fighter in the world, partly because he's vulnerable. But where do you think he is in his development as a boxer? It's gonna be It's tough, Max, because how can you convince a fighter toe walk toe work on his boxing ability and work on the skill when the people, the Masters, the fans, casual fans and hardcore fans have fallen in love with you because of your punch? What he delivered against Leo Santa Cruz the other night. So I think he's on his way. I think he got, you know, hit a little bit too much for me in the Leo Santa Cruz fight. And you you can't argue with the knockout. It is Blockbuster SportsCenter's top 10. He earned that many people had Leo winning that fight, so it's almost even though the fight was still, you know, midway through, he sort of came from behind and got that knock out the way that he needed to. But it's hard for me not to think long term. If you're facing a guy that you can't land there, punch against now, you gotta go in your bag of tricks and you gotta show some different dimensions. But if you're not working on those dimensions, that's what my concern is. And Andre, I did see multi dimensions from him. He just didn't stick with it. There were times where his superior speed and forcing ability was winning. The fight got to fight back under control. When Santa Cruz started toe, Thio hit him, but he was getting hit, and it reminds me of you. Throughout your career, you would see other fighters being matched in ways against good fighters but fighters who weren't capable of really pushing them. So they're matched in ways that made them look more exciting than you. And then you would be criticized. Andres. Not exciting enough. He's not scoring knockouts. But then again, you are beating the very best fighters in your weight class, winning the super middleweight tournament, fighting Kovalev. Stuff like that. So So I'm thinking about what just happened in boxing tale. FEMA. Lopez has a 4 to 1 underdog beats Lomachenko in an exciting fight, but Tank Davis fight Santa Cruz. He's a 6 to 1 favorite and scores a much more spectacular kind of finish in the knockout. Who do you think all those things considered? And I'm not saying because we're on ESPN Top rank. Let me is fighting on ESPN. Let me lead Andre to a conclusion that makes this network look good. No, I mean it. I'm bringing up the question. Who had a bigger star turning performance? Listen for me. It's no question is t a female Lopez. I mean t o beat a guy who was arguably the best fighter in the world. He wasn't my number one, but on many people's pound for pound lift, he was the number one guy. So that's why he's not only in the conversation, but he's in that middle spot. Some people having four, some people having five. And he put on a complete performance, and he showed more nuanced. That's my pick in terms of who put on, um, or star studded performance. But if you talk, a lot of this stuff is subjective. You brought me into the equation. The same thing was said about Purnell Whitaker. The same thing was said about Floyd Mayweather. So casuals. Obviously, the way the fight ended with Vontae Davis is you know, SportsCenter top 10 and casual, they're gonna be talking about that stuff, You know, the way that that knockout ended, you know, around the water cooler, you know, for a week. Um, but again, you have to look at the total performance. And again, this isn't me saying who's better than the other fighter? The question was, who put on the more Star Center performance? You've got to go with the guy who be arguably the best fighter in the world. As far as I know, Leo was on nobody's power now, right? And by the way, put Te'o in with Leo. You'll see, um, or impressive kind of more dominant, not impressive but dominant performance out of Te'o than against Lomachenko, and vice versa. Vice versa. Put Lomachenko in with Tank and see what happens. The thing about Tank is because he is fast because he can box, and because he can hit like that, he doesn't have to always dominate an entire fight the way other guys do. He is going to be, I say, Well, he looked forward. He's gonna be very difficult to beat. He has a lot of ways to beat you anyway. Another guy with a lot of ways to beat you, Andre. Last Saturday night. Now you're the monster in No, you way. He finished. Jason Maloni solid fighter in the seventh round. You called the fight, But I gotta be honest, Andre, I'm putting on ESPN. Plus, I got the tank fight on the TV. I'm looking for your call. I could only get the Spanish call. I thought it was It was Andre Ward learned Spanish, So I didn't get to hear your call to fight. What did you see from a know your way? Well, I already saw that he was He was elite and he was special. And And the way that he's, you know, conquered multi multi multi divisions. And you know, one multiple championships in a short span of time was impressive. You know, the eye in the sky doesn't lie. I've seen the footage and I do what he possessed. But to see it ring, citing to see it in real time, it just confirmed what I are. He's not just explosive. He's not just a power puncher, but his timing is underrated. And it's the veracity and the speed in which he is able to get his shot through. That's intimidating, even more intimidating than the actual power. Punch yourself because in a blink of an eye you'll get a shot in there on you like he did against Maloney. And a fighter doesn't have time to process that. And the next thing you know just like to show with Maloney right there. He's looking up at the lights, and he's trying to figure out what there is. Very difficult. Gotta deal. Terence Crawford takes on Kell Brook, who was once good enough to beat Sean Porter decisively, and no one beats Sean Porter decisively. What do you expect to see in that fight? Well, listen, this is, you know, Terence Crawford coming off of, Ah, you know, by the time he gets in the ring a year layoff. Um, he's atop the pound for pound list, probably universally. At this point, he's been on at the top of my list, and when you're at the top of that list, you come into every single fight with a heavy burden. Every fight that you have, you're gonna be reappraised from. You know, your fans. You know, your Doubters, the naysayers, and they're going to see if there's any slippage. I don't think there's gonna be any slippage against Kell Brook. I think Kell Brook is going to fight as hard as he can for as long as he can kill. Brooke is a fearless fighter. He's the same guy. He went up two weight classes to fight the knotty Golovkin when Golovkin was considered to be the most dangerous man in the world. And here's the thing. You know, I hear a lot of people down on the Brook fight. What's the what's the other best fight that could be made for Terence Crawford? That's not a P B C welterweight ah, contender over at PBC or one of the champions. This is the best fight that Terence Crawford could make it if Kell Brook was good enough for Golovkin to face and go up two weight classes. He's good enough for Terence Crawford to face at this point in his career. And I understand people feel like they're slipping would kill Brooke, and he's not the same. Time, will tell you never underestimate untold dog like Kell Brook, who is fighting for his boxing future. He's dangerous. Crawford has all the pressure on him where he doesn't have to just look good. Doesn't just have to win. He has to look good doing it. And he has to confirm in reaffirm why he's atop the pound for pound. Thank you for watching ESPN on YouTube for live streaming sports and premium content. Subscribe to ESPN, plus.
