  • number one take away from what was, in its own way, maybe the best game of the day.

  • Games like yesterday.

  • Or why the Colts made the decision to go get Philip Rivers, and he struggled that first month of the season.

  • But yesterday they win the game because of two reasons when it comes to Philip Rivers, his experience and his toughness.

  • We showed the clip of his toughness kind of coming out of that blue tent.

  • But how about some of the throws in the second half and his relation with Frank Reich and understanding that off in some of these touch throws the space where he knows Okay, there's the vacancy of the defense.

  • There's the soft spot.

  • I got to get this ball in my hands and he's just throwing into places were only his receivers.

  • They're gonna be able to go and get them.

  • This is the throws that we saw from Philip Rivers over the last 10 years, where it comes out of his hand looking a little weird, but on Lee, his guy could go make those plays.

  • Yesterday was the perfect example.

  • That's why the Colts went to go get Philip Rivers because he was a difference maker for their offense.

  • He played really well yesterday are See, if you're on the Packers and you wake up this morning, how are you going to feel looking at the film?

  • If you're the Packers and you wake up this morning, you're looking at this film and asking Matt LaFleur to stop the film at halftime.

  • Hey, stop it.

  • When we were good, stop it when we were physical.

  • Stop it before we start to get dominated.

  • If you're Jonathan Taylor, you come out in the second half and you think you're back in Madison, Wisconsin.

  • They gave him the ball six times and the Green Bay Packers couldn't stop him.

  • And and and aside from the two big plays that you guys mentioned to Valdez Scantlin down the middle, the past to Davante Adams to set up the field goal, they couldn't get anything going offensively.

  • That's why Rex is sitting over there pissed off now.

  • That's why it doesn't matter what hand MVS had the ball in because he said they needed a number two and in the second half they look like it.

  • But you know what else they needed?

  • They needed to run stopper.

  • You know what else they needed?

  • They needed a physical presence on defense.

  • And we have seen this before from this team.

  • When the other team says you know what, We're gonna hand the ball off and dare you to stop us.

  • They ain't stop nobody yet.

  • And we saw it again yesterday.

  • You were frustrated this morning talking about this team?

  • Yeah.

  • No, absolutely.

  • I think it goes back to the draft.

  • You could have used a guy.

  • How?

  • How would Jefferson look?

  • You know, how would Tee Higgins look, you know, let alone CD Lamb?

  • That could be the difference maker with that type of offense.

  • Toe win, games like that.

  • You had another opportunity in the trade deadline.

  • You still can't stop anybody.

  • You're inside.

  • Linebackers still stink.

  • Like to me, that there, there, you know, the general manager, whatever it is, those decisions air killing, this football team, and and to me, what's gonna happen?

  • We're going to see him get beat in the playoffs again is great.

  • Is Aaron Rodgers its's?

  • It's unfortunate.

  • Packers are who we thought they were.

  • And that's how yesterday went.

  • The Colts get themselves a nice win.

  • But if you wake up is a member of the Packers today, what are you thinking?

  • I'm ashamed.

  • I'm embarrassed.

  • I'm embarrassed that I couldn't produce any physicality on defense.

  • I'm embarrassed that on offense, I couldn't move the ball at all.

  • After the second half.

  • I'm embarrassed that I never made adjustments as a head coach.

  • This was complete and utter domination in the second half by the Indianapolis coach.

  • And when I looked at this, I thought about something, Dance said earlier about identity.

  • The Indianapolis coach now know who they are.

  • They're gonna play great defense.

  • They're going to try to make you beat them the long way, and they're going to run the football and ask Philip Rivers to make smart throws and they're gonna do that, play in, play out and no matter how much you get up on them, they're going to stick consistently to that.

  • And that's what we saw yesterday.

  • We also saw that the Green Bay Packers not making a move defensively or not getting an extra guy on the outside is not paying dividends for them.

  • Right now, it's costing them football games and I want you to think about something that happened yesterday, and I know damn well love this because this is something that damn pays attention to.

  • Early on in the game equal, many of state Brown caught the same bubble screen, and it ended up being, ah, a long A long play, getting them down to the goal line.

  • They score on the next play, Devante Davante Adams scores on the same exact play, but they make the formation a little bit tighter.

  • It's a stack on the outside.

  • He bubbles out.

  • He catches it.

  • They do it again.

  • Julian Blackmon recognizes the formation, recognizes the stack with number two on the ball, that he sees the motion out and he goes and makes the play.

  • The Packers aren't creative, the Packers are innovative, and they got beat by a better team.

  • A team that's in this that's ascending while they are descending.

  • The Packers are gonna be also ran again, and Aaron Rodgers is gonna be wasted the same way.

  • Rex said he would be all season direction.

  • So I come to you with that because sometimes it's about the plays and sometimes it's about the players, and I know you've been saying all year long.

  • They just don't have the players know.

  • I mean, they could have.

  • They blew the draft.

  • I mean, here, you've got a Hall of Fame quarterback, and you don't do your one game away from the Super Bowl.

  • You don't draft a guy that could help.

  • You gotta scout team quarterback.

  • How is he playing for you, By the way?

  • He ain't playing.

  • And then what do you do?

  • Way?

  • Get a trade deadline?

  • And And Ryan's already talked about Kwon Alexander going to the Saints.

  • All right.

  • You got different guys, you know, trade.

  • What do you do to help that bolster that defense?

  • Nothing.

  • You're you're linebackers.

  • Stink.

  • The inside linebackers are atrocious on this defense.

  • So you never helped him there.

  • You don't help.

  • You don't have a true number two receiver.

  • We wanna put this other cat up there.

  • He's not.

  • But Aaron Rodgers still doing on on himself.

  • So guess what?

  • When you have an early exit, we want to sit back and say, I told you so.

  • And I'll be more than happy to say it.

  • If you want me to say it now, I say it every single time you play and every single time you lose because you blew an opportunity.

  • If you're the front office of the Green Bay back, I think I completely agree with everything you just said, Dan, I do feel obligated to bring up the Colts here because that's back to back Nice Wednesday just got.

  • They went on a Thursday night, a big division game against Tennessee.

  • They go and they beat Green Bay yesterday and the quarterback is playing awfully well.

  • Yesterday's game is kind of the perfect example of why you made the decision.

  • Go get Philip Rivers in the off season because you know you're not playing well and all of sudden, like Philip Rivers gets hot.

  • He didn't start the season well early in the month.

  • That play was a great designed by Frank Reich.

  • You get one on one matchup of your tight end down the scene versus a dropping defensive end.

  • This throw right here is all about timing.

  • That ball has got to be put on Doyle's left shoulder right now.

  • Watch linebacker leaves, Doyle flips, snaps his head around balls right on that left shoulder by Philip River.

  • So there was so many moments in the game yesterday, we going?

  • No.

  • That's why you got Philip Rivers.

  • Because you could make that throw and let me say this because since we're talking about the Colts, I think we could make the case of the most well coached team in football.

  • And that includes the Patriots that includes the Chiefs.

  • Like there.

  • They are so well coached on both sides of the ball offensively and defensively.

  • Now, I think that's really where we saw the difference of the football game yesterday.

  • The Packers air well coached on offense.

  • I don't think they're very well coached on defense.

  • And Matt ever flues was a difference maker for the Colts yesterday, And that's why they're gonna be an issue for teams in back end of this season into the playoffs.
