  • I'm currently on my way to shoot, um, some new episodes of our show on our Cabe house Matignon disco.

  • And I thought you guys might want to come along for the day and just see what the general vibe is.

  • Right?

  • So a typical day of shooting starts like this.

  • The main cast arrives early in the day for temperature checks, hair makeup and a briefing 36.2.

  • Yeah, we usually shoot two sometimes three whole episodes in a day.

  • We also have a rotating team of three members from Fukuoka is most famous Idol Group HKT 48 who appears part time workers in our make believe cafe Who loves Fukuoka more than HKT 48.

  • So for the time being, in order to shoot this show way have to wear the spit guards and they're a little bit weird and unsightly.

  • But, um, the way that it's set up is that we're all standing a meter over a meter apart from each other.

  • So we do have to project a lot.

  • And even though we dio hand sanitizing and we do temperature check, this is just one more layer of protection to ensure that we're not, like spewing all over each other or like projecting large spit balls of I don't know, germs.

  • A fashion designer.

  • Our guests ranged from successful business owners to creatives, chefs, app designers and even musicians.

  • Each person comes on the show to talk about the challenges and how they've overcome some of the biggest obstacles in their lives.

  • Uh, what really makes this job special for me is the combination of really good people who have come together to make this project happen.

  • Everyone on our team is really flexible, funny and easy going.

  • In fact, I'm working with one of my oldest friends in Fukuoka, Mitchie.

  • Born in Japan, e was in Hawaii till I was 13 when I moved to Atlanta.

  • I was there to about 21 then, uh, you know, uh, had an adventure and came to the pants.

  • So I've been out here for, like, 15, 16 years.

  • Nice.

  • Yeah.

  • You know, I was pretty nervous, but, you know, actually able to be myself.

  • So it wasn't e wasn't what I thought it was gonna be.

  • So it's pretty cool.

  • It's very relaxed atmosphere.

  • Yeah, it was a lot of interesting guests.

  • It's a lot of interesting people that come through here, so it's a good experience.

  • It And can I just ask, like, just out of curiosity, like, do you feel like the Afro stuff is like too much or are you okay with it?

  • Or, um, to be honest, I think just Japanese people in general, they think that s a lot of people there.

  • They're fans of the Afro Michael Jackson phase of period.

  • Especially people in Kyushu.

  • They think, um, African Americans, black folks, we do stuff to our hair to get the Afro.

  • They don't understand.

  • This is natural eso Even though, you know, I think it's a blessing in disguise because there's a lot of mixed kids in Japan on, you know, it's fine.

  • I'll be the I'll be the martyr e don't mind a zoo Long as I'm able to educate people in this way.

  • This is natural, man, like you don't do nothing s So I think a lot of people think that black people naturally have straight hair, so no e e e e e Yeah.

  • So today this evening is the first episode of Coca Hasmah on TV.

  • And then I suppose after that, um, we'll be able to upload clips to YouTube from the episodes that people didn't get a chance to watch.

  • So I'm really excited because slowly but Surely from now everything that we've worked on since August will, like, start to make its way out there and people can see it for the first time.

  • I'm really excited because I love working here.

  • I think it's a great environment.

  • Uh, so when you talk to my kids, Okay, at this point, since we've been working together since August, it really does feel like everybody is just really cool with each other, if that makes sense, Um, and I get to work with Michi, who as you guys know, if you followed me for a long time, like, you know, that means and I have been doing creative things forever.

  • So it's really cool to know that, like everything that I've done in the past kind of has set us up for things Project, which is now finally coming to light this evening.

  • Um, and then every week for the next six months anyway, s.
