Good morning guys! I'm in Fukushima-ken today at Aizuwakamatsu Station
and I'm riding the Tadami Line
Which is a train line here that is very famous locally for the beautiful scenery
So I'm gonna be on this train for about an hour and a half
What people like to do is buy some sake and ride the train
and drink sake while they're looking at the beautiful scenery
So we stopped at the sake shop on the way here and I picked out some yummy sake
So here's a clip from that
Fukushima is known for their nihonshu (sake)
So I'm in here choosing one to bring with me
on the train ride that I'm going to go on in about an hour
So he picked out some sake that's good for hanami
(sakura viewing)
So you can see lots of them have a sakura theme
Tastes so much different from the sake I'm used to!
It's sweet!
I can't believe how different they taste!
If you guys are ever in Fukushima
And you come across this one, I recommend trying it out!
It's really sweet! And it's just completely different from anything I've ever tried before
So everyone brings their own sake to drink on the train
You won't normally see this, but this line is known for it
People like to enjoy the scenery while drinking
So it's all right on this train line, but don't think you can do this on all train lines
It's not a normal thing
This scene is really famous
You'll probably see this on lots of tourism sites and stuff
It's a really popular spot to go and take photos of this train
But we're gonna be on the train, so we're not gonna be able to see this
But I think later on we are going to be going to this spot to take photos
So that'll be fun!
Ahh I would love to see it in the fall
This looks so nice
Wow the winter is really beautiful too
So this train only has two cars
The one that we just moved to now has box seats
so you can sit with 4 people
If you come early you won't be able to get one of these ones
They fill up pretty quickly
The other car in the back there is just the regular 2 lines of seats on each side
Yay! Now we've got a box seat with our friends!
So we can sit and drink our sake
and the pretty part of the trip is coming up soon
I think in about 5 minutes or so
we're gonna enter the mountains, can't wait!
So everyone brings their own sake cups with them
Oh cool! That's a nice one!
I bought this one at the souvenir shop where we got the sake
This is the Fukushima mascot
Thank you!
Let's eat!
This is good! Wow!
It tastes like cheese right?
That's so good
It's like cream cheese, but tofu!
We're eating sweet potatoes now, these are so good
I love these things
So we're heading into the mountains now
There's still some snow left over!
Oh there's still snow on the ground!
Wow!
So we're at a little shop called Donguri now
and we're gonna make our own soba!
So this is the soba that I made
It kinda looks more like udon
This is the part that the teacher cut, it looks nice and thin
and then mine are a little thick
But hopefully it tastes all right
We're gonna eat it now
Well I'm gonna eat it now, I don't think anyone else wants to
Hey! Wait! Where are you guys going?
You need to try her soba!
Everyone ran away Sharla!
I think he was nice and put the ones he made on top
Ok I'll try the good ones first then
Yep, yummy!
They're fine!
Really? Are you telling the truth?
He's being nice. He says it tastes good but... we'll see
So these are mine
And these are the teachers
They're not that bad
Maybe even yummy!
So we're at the natural carbonated water area now
And it's just this little hole in the ground
And look
Look at the bubbles, isn't that crazy?
That's all natural
It looks like it's boiling!
It's not it's freezing cold
They have cups here to drink it, so let's try some!
Ok let's try it and see if it's carbonated!
That's so weird!
It just tastes like soda water!
Strange
After a long, chilly day outside
I headed back to my hotel, which was equipped with a private onsen
which is always nice
It had a beautiful view of the river outside
It was just warm, and relaxing and I had such an amazing time!
If you would like to see a tour of this hotel
Come check me out on my other channel, Sharmander
at youtube.com/sharlainjapan
and I will have a full tour of a traditional Japanese hotel room
Thanks for watching guys, I hoped you enjoyed this
and stay tuned for Day 2! Bye!
