But I think there's a bit of a waiting game going on to see the impact of even the limited Christmas mixing that is allowed now.

Today's, uh, announcement was an unscheduled moving of areas between tears.

There is another planned review in a week's time.

The feeling in government is that this is a proportional response.

But a further short notice tightening of restrictions across different parts of the country on national restrictions are certainly not being ruled out.
