If both teams lose out and finish one and 15, the Jags would get the first pick because of a tie breaker. And, by the way, based on Cincinnati's win on Monday night, these two teams air locked now into one and two in either order. But here's what I found myself wondering about and Ryan Clark. I will start with you. You know, the reaction in New York and other places where they would for the Jets was so overwhelmingly devastated by the Jets winning a game. And now you know all the Jaguar players you can't avoid hearing this are hearing their fans all the all of place, saying, Whatever you do, don't win a game here these last two weeks. If you're an NFL player and you're hearing that noise around you, what effect does it have on you, man? Fans better stop flattering themselves if they think that junk matter like greeny, I want you to think about this greeny. No, actually, you can't think about this greeny people who can actually see themselves playing football. If you think about your running up to tackle Derrick Henry, you can't have anything on your mind but not getting slapped in your head and slid under the bench. That's it. That's the only thing I got on my mind is how my tackle, this dude in the open field when I got a breakdown and not be embarrassed in front. My people, period. That's all it is. And so when you're trying to play this game, you're playing for yourself. The name on the back of the jersey Just gonna be honest with you is more important than the logo on the helmet. And so these dudes wanna play well for themselves. They wanna play well for their brothers. But you gotta realize when you play for the Jaguars, it's a possibility that could be your last season. This could be your last game. All you want to do is do the best you possibly can to continue to feed your family. You don't care if they get Trevor Lawrence. Justin Fields. It doesn't matter. What you care about is playing well. Dominic is there. Is there nothing difficult about it, though? Is there nothing different? I mean, I think, defeating, I think. Yeah, I think it's probably tough. It stinks. It's annoying. It's frustrating toe have the few people who are supposed to be rooting for you rooting against you. But Ryan nailed it. Don't nobody care what you think. Like all the players will come on and say We have the best fans in the world. We won this for you. They're lying like there is, ah, hierarchy of things that they care about. And y'all on the bottom. They care about themselves. They care about their teammates. They care about their coaches, They care about their career. They care about the money that they're gonna make. They care about their legacy, how they remember. They care about their high school gym teacher watching the game. Then they care about how happy you are. And so, like. The mentality of professional sports is so often us against the world, even for the top teams. Somehow they convinced themselves That is us against the world. Nobody believed in us, so this is no different. They don't care about y'all. If you're happy as a result of them having success cool, that's a nice by product. But they don't care. They don't wanna make you happy. They don't wanna score touchdowns to cheer you up. They out here trying to make a living and not get thrown under the bench by Derrick Henry. I will leave it there. That is four times now, the time. And he has disagreed with me in the last five minutes. Thank you for watching ESPN on YouTube for live streaming sports and premium content. Subscribe to ESPN, plus.
