That's according to the state's Corrections Department.

According to the FBI, in 2018, Little confessed to 93 murders over the course of three decades had already been serving three life sentences for the killing of three women in the late eighties.

Little had begun that sentence in 2014 after Los Angeles jury convicted him of first degree murder.

So we finally got where we're going, Theo FBI says that when a Texas Ranger interviewed little in his cell in 2018, he ultimately confessed to dozens more killings from 1970 to 2005.

They also say investigators had verified 50 of those confessions, with many more pending final confirmation, making him the deadliest US serial killer on record.

Authorities say he appeared to have targeted mostly vulnerable young black women, many of them prostitutes or drug addicts whose deaths were not well publicized at the time and in some cases not recorded as homicides.

An FBI profile of Little said many of his victims deaths were originally ruled overdoses or attributed to accidental or undetermined causes, and some bodies were never recovered.

The agency said an official cause of Little's death would be determined by the county medical examiner's office.
