the question today is how do i pronounce the word

earth or our planet so let's go ahead and look at this word

i think the confusion comes in here because of the spelling we're not going

to say ear-th we are going to say earth

earth earth and to do this we are going to start with that er sound to do this

square tense lips tip of your tongue is either pointed down or flipped back

it is just not touching the teeth and it is not moving

er if you have trouble with this sound i recommend that you try to make this

sound a little bit longer and a little bit

stronger that tip tends to help most of my students

err then you are going to stick your tongue out of your mouth yes

the tip of your tongue is going to come out of your mouth it is going to be

between the top and the bottom teeth but it is

not touching the teeth if you touch the teeth that will stop the

air and then it will sound like a t and we want that air to keep moving for

the th th th

if you struggle with this i suggest try to make a little cup with your tongue

and that will allow air to move right over the top

of the tongue so let's put it all together
