Let's go through with the coaches or legends and a very first play of the game. Terrible news. Ohio State. Trey Sermon goes down. He will not get back, and he's been such a big part of this resurgence for the run game. For Ohio State to lose him on the first play of the game. Definitely hurt third offense. Meanwhile, speaking of injured players, here's Jalen Waddle. What did you see from him last night? Toughness. Warrior spirit, competitors. You could tell how much playing for this program matter to him because it looked like he was hurting so much. But he left everything on the field. Felt like he needed to get off the field before he did. But incredible spirit wound up making three catches for 34 yards. Meanwhile, to the scoring, this is the first touchdown of the game. It wouldn't be the last. Now Jay Harris takes it in Alabama. A seven nothing lead. Early on, however, Justin Fields had answers. Look at this. Throw to the big tight end. Yeah, I can't wait to break this one down because it shows off some of the traits some of the talent that Justin Field has. And I love the touch that he put on that football. That one is to Jeremy record inside the 10. And then Master Teague enforce sermon would take it. And from there, So we're tied at seven and Fields loves it. Second quarter. It's Mac Jones, and all night long. Ohio State just didn't have an answer for the Heisman Trophy. Well, yeah, they take Devante Smith and then at the snap, they send them kind of behind the quarterback like it's it's gonna be reversed. And then they bring him right back where he started. He's too fast on the perimeter. Then there was Obama Fund. Well, in Ohio State takes over and they take it in its Teague again. So it's 14 all. Are we going to go back and forth? Well, Mac Jones said No, because I've got this guy and you can't stop Green. This is so hard. I mean, he's running full speed turns his body locates the football full extension, 2 ft inbounds on. Then it's Jones. He feels the pressure. He lost it up for Harris. Paris is going to take it in. He would have three touchdowns on the night, 21 14 Alabama, and they just kept going later. It's first and goal from the five, and it's Devante Smith again. Return motion one side, back to the other. Back to where you came from, and it's a race to the front pylon. Awesome design and athleticism for Davante. You just make it look so easy. And then he's behind the defense again. I'll say it again. Can't wait to break this one down and look at the point. Davante knows it's a great job by his play caller. Ah, great job by his quarterback to special players. 215 yards, three touchdowns on 12 catches for Devante Smith in the first half and then more of the same in the second. But in this play, he gets hurt. Now, protect those fingers, they're gonna make you a lot of money, and you could see him getting jammed up right when he's gonna make that catch with that hit by Pete Warner. Hopefully, he's gonna be just fine. But you could see him shaking, going. Something's not right inside my glove. he wouldn't return, but he had done his job for the night. Slade Boldin then comes in. He gets into the action. He goes in for the score. Matt Jones throws five touchdowns in the game, tied for the most all time, and then a celebratory moment. Late. Alabama's up 50 to 24. They put in Landon Dickerson, who tour is a C L less than a month ago. He snaps it, They feel it. The celebration is on, and a season unlike any other ends in very familiar fashion, with Alabama and Nick Saban on top. Once again, the Kings of the college football world, the final 52 to 24. Well, you know, to me, this team accomplished Mawr almost than any team. No disrespect, any other teams that we had or any championship teams. But this team won 11 SEC games. No other team has done that. Ah, they won the SEC and went undefeated in the SEC. Ah, and then they beat two great teams in the playoffs with no real break in between. Played 13 games, one undefeated. With all the disruptions that we had in this season, I think there's quite a bit to write about. When it comes to the legacy of a team. I think we're the best team to ever play. I mean, there's no team now ever play, uh, SEC schedule like that again? Well, they said all kinds of records last night. Devante Smith Single season SEC records for receiving yards and touchdowns. Now Jay Harris sets the conference record with 30 touchdowns. Mac Jones sets the Division one record for completion percentage, and they averaged nearly 49 points a game. That is the most in SEC history. So so much to one pack after what really was a coronation and perhaps not unexpected. So, Dan, I start with you. What was your number one take away from this night in college football? It shouldn't be that easy. It's not supposed to look that easy, and it's one of the most dominant performances I've ever seen. But this is when you get when you get incredible talent, match with legendary coaching and a culture that's built upon the obsession of habit. This is the type of performance that you get, and it was dominant on every level. It wasn't just dominant in the line of scrimmage it was dominant with the quarterback play, it was dominant out on the perimeter with all the special athletes. It was dominant from the scheme that they wanted to use. It was dominance from their defensive line. No, it says, complete of football team and a football performances I've ever seen. It brings me back toe last year and watching what ls you didn't going, man. That's the best team I've ever seen in college football. And I think Alabama certainly has staked their claim to be in that conversation after the season and then the night they just had. I'll get to Joey in a second on the greatest of all time conversation. But Jeff just watching, and I know you have a personal interest in this. What was your number one? Take away? Just the closeness of this football team. Greeny like you just heard Dan give you all the domination, conversation and the absolute beat down they put on them. But how about how close this team was? You could tell they authentically play for each other. Here's here's Landon Dickerson, the center going out for the last two snaps, But I'm gonna tell you, it brought tears to my eyes. Look, I reminisce about the Pro Bowl with Peyton Manning, my last snap. This kid's coming in. How Maney hugs. Is he giving right? I mean, the true nature. Then he goes and picks up saving and basically carries him 30 yards in the middle of the field. That's not just for show men. That just shows you how much they care about each other. They want to play for the guy beside him. They wanna play for that coach, man. You could tell they were United front. That is a special as it gets. I absolutely loved it.
