Welcome to English class.

I like to teach grammar and I like to sing.

So one way that I found to combine these two is by taking basically any song.

But a song that I've been thinking about lately is this Land is your land.

This land is my land from California to the New York Island and so forth and so on.

You can look the song up on the Internet.

You could look up the exact lyrics, but I think it's a cool idea to combine grammar tenses with thes songs.

You can change the grammar of these songs with a little bit of artistic license here like this.

This land's been your land.

This land's been my land from California to the New York Island and so forth.

And so on second verse goes something like this.

As I was walking down those something highway, I saw my friends there they didn't shy away or something like that.

I have to apologize.

Thio, would you go through the original writer of the song, But you can change that to something like this as I've been walking down the Lonely Highway.

I've seen my friends there who haven't shied away on and so forth and so on.

You could take any verse of any song.

I think it's really good.

Thio manipulate grammar tenses as I've done president, Perfect or present.

Perfect, continuous.

Changing the original, though.

And again I apologize for that.

And I think it's useful and fun.

Part of because it gets with it gets to vocabulary.

It gets to verb tenses, and it inevitably discusses culture.

This particular song was written in response to Kate Smith's God Bless America, and you can look up all the information about why it's considered to be an alternative song to that.

But I like it.
