Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles - [Narrator] Season 3 of Cobra Kai picks up in the aftermath of season 2's apocalyptic high school brawl. But just because it's a brand new season, doesn't mean that there aren't still plenty of Easter eggs and callbacks. So put on your gi and tighten your black belts, cause it's time to kick it with this roundup of Cobra Kai Season 3, Easter eggs. In the first episode, Daniel gets serious deja VU, when he sees a cardboard cutout of John Kreese at the Cobra Kai dojo. A nod to creases odd self-promotion across the franchise. Take note, owning a cardboard cutout of yourself, huge red flag. In an episode 2 flashback, we see a 1947 Ford super deluxe pull up, the same model of car that Mr.Miyagi gives to Daniel for his birthday in the Karate Kid. The title of episode 3 is a reference to a line from the original Karate Kid. - Now you're gonna pay. - [Narrator] That Hawk repeats, - Oh, you're gonna pay all right. - [Narrator] Crossing bicyclists while driving motorcycles is a mother thing, Cobra Kai students have picked up. You know what they say, 'like sensei like student'. The drunk businessman's toast, (speaking foreign language) is a callback to the time Mr.Miyagi gives up teaching Daniel Japanese. (speaking foreign language) - In Karate Kid 2 Daniel and Miyagi arrive in Okinawa to find Miyagi's home village turned into a base. Daniel shows back up 30 years later to find the village turned into a mall, because progress. Daniel and Kumiko drink tea together, just like the tea ceremony from Karate Kid 2. - Maybe if we had the Facebook and Instagram back then we would've never lost touch. - [Narrator] Good thing for Daniel's marriage, that it's not exactly like the tea ceremony from Karate Kid 2. Turns out teaching the O-bon dance to kids is Kumiko's life's work. Here she is doing the exact same thing 30 years apart. Mitch asks Hawk if he wants a warm beer, - Who's for a warm one? - [Narrator] the same way Tommy does in 1984. - Who's for a warm one? Here you go. - Who the hell wants a warm beer. - [Narrator] One of the relics in Chosen's dojo is a sneaky reference to the short-lived Karate Kid cartoon. We won't say which one, but if, you know, leave it in the comments. Chosen's brutal finishing move is the same technique, Daniel and Mr.Miyagi use in the Karate Kid 2. (groaning sounds) (loud laughing sound) Daniel and Chosen discuss the story of Miyagi Do founder, Shimpo sensei, which Miyagi tells Daniel and Karate Kid 2. - 10 year later, he come back with Chinese wife and two kids and secret for Miyagi family karate. - [Narrator] When chosen gives Daniel the Miyagi-do's scroll, he says, - "you keep for your correction" - [Narrator] Which is the exact same thing he said to Daniel 30 years ago in a much more menacing context. - You keep for your correction. - [Narrator] Unfortunately Kreese hasn't shown the same personal growth as Chosen. - You're a pushy little bastard aint you. But I like that, I like that. You're a feisty one, but I like that. I like it. (slap sounds) It's open season on them, and you. It's open season on him, and you. - [Narrator] Kreese only knows like two threats. Daniel takes Sam out for a father-daughter fishing trip calling back a similar scene from the original movie. (laughing sounds) Miyagi may be disappointed in Daniel's fashion choices as he was solidly against wearing karate belts. - Oh, come on, even Elvis Presley got a black belt. - Borrow from Elvis next time seeing him. - [Narrator] Apparently Golf N' Stuff has been playing the same single of the Eighties power ballad Feel the Night for the last 30 years. (feelgood music) The Encino Oaks Country Club is the same one scene in Karate Kid. At the end of this episode, Johnny sees Daniel talking to Allie, dredging up painful memories. - Forget it man, it's ancient history. - Who told you man? - [Narrator] If there's one thing the Encino Oaks Country Club has been known for for the last 30 years, it's their spaghetti. And if there's one important bit of advice Daniel would give his younger self it's, 'don't wear white to a place known for its marinara' - Hey watch it I'm wearing white here. You think I want that all over me. - [Narrator] This episode takes place right around Christmas on December 19th, the same date as the all Valley tournament in the first Karate Kid. And finally, Allie and Daniel have some conflicting memories about their relationship. Just like I told you that the brakes on Mr Miyagi's car we're gonna go, I hope you didn't tell him that it was my fault it crashed? - No of course not. First I let Allie borrow the car and she redesigns my fender. And I don't know what to do with the engine but that ain't running right either. - [Narrator] Well, that's it, that's all the Easter eggs, references and callbacks we found. Did we miss any? Let us know in the comments. And also while you're at it, tell us what you thought of Season 3 of Cobra Kai and start placing your bets as to who will show up to kick in Season 4. - What the heel do you think you're doing man? - Kicking your ass. (upbeat music)
