Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles scanning the MBA storylines ahead of games tonight. Utah entering its road matchup against Atlanta with NBA record 11 straight games with 15 or more three pointers. It's pretty good. Trey Young's four points in that last game against the Jazz tied a career low. The Warriors visit Dallas, hoping to snap a two game road losing streak. The Mavericks have won the last four meetings by an average of over 30 points per game. Also, the East leading 70 Sixers host the Trailblazers, who entered today two games over 500. Damian Lillard and Joel Embiid ranked 3rd and 4th in scoring, but Dame is out tonight against the champs in L. A. And Nicole Yokich could become the first Nuggets since Carmelo Anthony with three straight 35 point games. LeBron needs just three field goals to pass Wilt for third on the en bas all time list. Here's Yokich on King. Yeah, the speed is there were the same athletic wise We are really good. I don't know. What can he jump assed hired me, actually, but we are kind of similar Onda quickness, you know, he has a little bit older, but so I don't know Yankee cheap, Still clean. Uh, great To be joined by the Jumps. Rachel Nichols For more on the MBA. Rachel, this was the Western Conference finals matchup a year ago. What kind of problem can this year's Nuggets team present for the Lakers in the West? First of all, can we just shout out Nikolai Yokich, who is funnier and what I believe is his fourth language that most of us native English speakers? I mean, he is right. He is probably not alongside LeBron James and athleticism, but he is in that same conversation. When you talk about passing, he is likely to go down as the best all time passing big man. And I am very interested to see what happens when he comes into L. A. Today. And there's a great little subplot here, too. With Anthony Davis. The MBA released their all star voting results today and in the front court in the Western Conference. The lead vote getters are LeBron James, Nikolay Yokich and co wide Leonard. That would put Anthony Davis on the bench as a reserve in the All Star Game. So you gotta wonder tonight as the to go head to head and voting is still open. J. Whether a D is going to try toe, make his mark against the Yokich in any way, or whether Yokich is gonna prove that the fans so far correct? Yeah. Little statement tonight being made. Maybe also speaking of the All Star Game, Rachel sources telling ESPN this week that the NBA and the Players Association we're working toward an agreement for All Star Game on March 7th and State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Take a listen to what King's guard Darren Fox had to say about this last night. I mean, if I'd be brutally honest, I think it's stupid. Um, you know, if we have to wear mask and do all this for a regular game, then what's the point of bringing All Star Game back? But obviously, um, money makes the world go around, so it is what it is. He was very honest. Rachel, what do you think is gonna be the ultimate outcome for this All Star Game this season? I've covered the MBA long enough to know if the MBA wants an All Star game Jay, there will be a NOL star game, and, as Darren Fox noted, In fact, later in his press conference, the league finds players who are voted into the All Star Game who don't show. So I expect attendance at that All Star game to actually be pretty good. And look, there's no question there is heightened risk. When you do something like this, you've taken 24 guys from, say, 20 teams, mixing them all together with no quarantine period before and then sending them all back to their individual market. So the N B A just has to hope that with a lot of testing and taking the protocols that they're taking during this regular season, that they're not gonna accidentally host a super spreader event there. Also going to, of course, limit what players can do when they're in Atlanta. Normally, an All Star game in Atlanta means exciting for players to sample the city. I'm gonna put it that way. I don't think they will be allowed to do that. In this case, there is also going to be some concern for the players not going to Atlanta. What protocol and rules will they be under? You know, players often like to take that quick trip down to Mexico during the All Star break. I have a feeling they're not gonna be allowed to do that either, so we will have to see how it unfolds. It is interesting, though, that they think that they can pull this off. And I love All Star. It is one of my favorite events of the year. I think it symbolizes what the MBA is about. So I have the same concerns everybody else does, including inside the MBA. But I am excited to see how it pans out here and and hope that they get lucky and are able to really keep it safe for everyone.
