One student was killed on 42 people, including 27 students, were kidnapped, according to the state governor. Caleb recounts his experience that day. I was sleeping in the hostel, then I heard the kidnappers come to our hostel and start shooting their guns. I came out and saw them. Then I ran and jumped over the fence. The assailants stormed the Government Science Secondary School in *** State at around 2 a.m. On overwhelmed the school security detail. It is not immediately clear who was responsible. Kidnappings for ransom by armed groups are common across many northern Nigerian states. This attack comes two months after gunmen stormed a secondary school in northwestern Katsina state and kidnapped nearly 350 boys who was subsequently rescued by security forces. But the recent attacks have raised concerns about rising violence by armed gangs and Islamist insurgents on fueled criticism of Buhari's handling of national security.
