The man you weren't kidding.

You got the new deal that maps out your future.

You know where you're gonna be.

You know, you and your family are good.

How long does it take after you agree to that and sign it for it to feel like it's really This is my life.

I'm set.

Uh, we're gonna say, man, I'm still shocked.

You know, e I feel like it's still haven't hit me or settled down.

But, you know, I'm just happy.

Happy?

No, my family is happy to and just just grateful all the way around.

Happy is a good place to be.

And the thing I love about this is that they didn't have to come to you this early, right?

I mean, they didn't have to it all, And you didn't have to give up your late twenties when you could have really gone for who knows how much money.

But I think it speaks to a rare relationship between player and organization, where you guys truly do have the same goals in mind.

How did you guys create what you've got?

That's right.

That's right.

You said that they have to come to me and didn't have to, you know, sell my, my, my my years or people want to put it.

But you know, there's a special relationship over here and a big factor of that issue.

Know how they see me a za player And you know what?

I feel like what what I could do for add to this organization.

And it's just a special bonding all the way around and just the fact that I can stay on one team and, you know, fulfill my career.

I feel like that z over expectation over any contract.

When I watch you play, I don't feel like the word pressure ever applies.

I think you play with a joy and and that smile that I see right now and that's a beautiful thing.

However, with numbers like these man, it's, I think, whoever you are, it's easy to feel like I have to be something to live up to.

This how do you avoid that?

That I think that would be a mistake.

But how do you avoid putting that pressure on yourself?

We're going to say, I just you know, every time I get to the field, I'm just the same kid, You know?

I said, There's all over again.

But that's the truth.

The truth.

You know, every time I get to the ballpark, I'm using the same kid that has played the game.

When I was in minor league, I'm just I just signed the paper.

But at the end of the day, I'm just playing the same game of left, and, you know, I feel like every time I get out there, it's just you got to embrace it.

You got to enjoy it because you just doing what you love.

And, you know, I feel like that's just a true blessing for a human being can can do for a living.

What he loved Your dad played in an era that overlap with a guy who I grew up rooting for in Baltimore.

Cal Ripken played there forever.

A better example for you would be Tony Gwynn, a lifelong guy for one place.

How appealing Fernando was the idea that you could spend theoretically your entire time right there where you are.

It is like I mentioned it is just something really special, you know, really special for me and to the organization.

But, uh, just just match, you know, every single contract that you can imagine.

And, uh, you know, something that I have looked looked for since I was a kid, And I have dreamed dream about it.

And now thanks.

God is happening.

I read this was a family decision.

How?

How much?

How much does I shouldn't just assume, Dad?

Because he played in the bigs.

I'm sure everybody huddles around.

How do you all as a group decide?

OK, this is exactly what we should be doing.

You know, everybody.

Everybody has their part of it here.

My, even even my brothers, you know, because I feel like even their life is there is going to change.

So I feel like asking opinion from body what they thought What are they thinking about?

Because another day is one family.

And, you know, I feel like we're all together in this.

And you know, I wouldn't be here if what?

Without them and like a Like I mentioned, you know, they're as big as I am in the on this.

A Z equals me on this part.

Mhm.

You're very young man now, but you'll become an older man in your time in San Diego.

And that means we can look forward to you doing battle with the team about 100 years.

100 miles, I should say to the North, they just want a title, Not just them.

But look, let's let's be honest, you and the Dodgers.

I think we can see the future of you to meeting up quite a bit through the years.

How exciting is that idea just of okay?

You guys got that chip?

But we're coming for it.

Yeah, like you say, we're coming, friend, but, you know, it's really exciting.

You know, I respect that team a lot that they have been part of history for a long time, and then, you know, they still go out there and, you know, they find the way how to do it.

You know, I'm looking forward to that competition.

It's just gonna be a great baseball all the way around.

And, you know, it's always about there's always about playing this game and but is gonna be really fun.

It's gonna be really fun because they're really tough guys.

And but we're gonna We're gonna break that And we're gonna get for this feeling Last thing here on the way out So much of this is about you, and it's about the future.

Long term.

But as for this year, as you guys get started within baseball, Fernando, what do you know about what is going to be, like, sort of daily basis?

You know, like we think about what last year was and what you guys had to do to play It was a challenge.

What's the idea of what this year will be like in terms of what you all will be sort of having to deal with?

Uh, like, you know, we're gonna go through what?

What we need to go through.

But at the end of the day, you know the boys over here, they're they're going, we're going for that, you know, for that.

Bakic, you know that I know that it's a lot to say, but we're putting that working, you know, we trust each other and, uh, we can see the talent and we can feel it.

We can feel it, and we're just We're just gonna go out there and play the game.
