Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles We've been going on a lot of road trips lately and especially me. I just came from - well not just - a couple months ago, I went from Florida to California and went on a five-day road trip and I really thought about all the best travel luggage I could take with me and how to maneuver everything solo with my dog so we wanted to share what I took and what I recommend and also what Candy recommends too because we're going on a road trip together. A very long road trip from here back to Florida - California to Florida. We're going to go over all sorts of awesome travel luggage that's really great. Yes, and I do want to note that the reason why we're particular about being able to carry everything easily from the car to hotels is because we don't leave anything in the car when we're staying overnight somewhere. You just never know. It's a little bit of a hassle, but if you have the right luggage, it's not that bad. That's the reason why we really want to make sure we have the most convenient luggage to be able to haul everything in and out every day from the car to the hotel. Also want to note that these are our favorite products. We truly love them. We're not sponsored by them at all. We have been gifted Pacsafe bags and the Vessel bag we're about to show but we truly do love these bags and we use them daily or on all of our travels. First, I'm going to go over what I took on this road trip from Florida to California. It was a total of five days and as Candy said, every day I would take in my luggage into the hotel room by myself with my dog so it's a little bit of work, but if you have the right luggage, it's really not that bad. What you want is luggage that will move smoothly with you and the Away suitcase is our go-to when it comes to suitcases because they have the best wheels. They have the 360 wheels. You can stand up the suitcase and stand upright and push your suitcase or you can drag it like a regular suitcase. We also like to get tote bags or backpacks that have a sleeve in the back so that you can just plop it on top and it'll be easy to take with you. It's also good to have a backpack so you could put it on your back like Candy has, but you could also put it behind because behind cause this has a sleeve as well so you can put it on your suitcase too. Those are like top level what we really love, but we're going to dig in and show you the details of each bag. This is the Lo & Son's canvas tote. I recently just got this. I really wanted this because I knew it would be easy to carry around with me. It's soft, the zippers work great, and I've always loved Lo & Son's products. The first thing I love about this is how easily the zippers unzip and zip. It's so smooth. I know that sounds like it's such a simple thing but after I show you my other tote bag, you'll see why it's such a big thing for me. Again, another reason why I love this was that there is a sleeve and this one even gives you an option - if you don't want to use the sleeve you can zip it up and use it as another pocket to store your things. I think that is genius. Another great thing about this bag is that on the bottom you can store your shoes. It doesn't have to be shoes but it's made for shoes compartment. It's down here. I like to store my shoes in separate bags. I actually just saved these plastic bags from clothes or other shoes that I get. In the main compartment, I could fit quite a lot and in this bag I would take things that I needed right away in the hotel room that I was staying overnight in. I would take some toiletries, my sunglasses case or glasses case, my curling iron, some of my camera batteries and gear, and some sweaters just in case I got cold. So those are some of the extra things. The rest of the stuff, I would put my in my Away suitcase, which I will show in a bit. It's so easy to carry this and maneuver around and it's very sturdy and there's also another pocket up here that you can use. I would use this a lot for storing Wet Wipes and such. You can also unhook these if you wanted to. Another new product that i got recently was an Away suitcase. I've always had Away suitcases but this one was different. They just came out with this not too long ago where it's a canvas suitcase. Previously, all their suitcases were hard cases, which again are great suitcases but there's something missing with them where I wanted a front compartment. They had attachments where you could put a front compartment on it but I didn't like the way it looked. They looked kind of cheap that way. So finally, they came out with this canvas suitcase and they have a front pocket. Now if you need to store things like your toiletries or your laptop, you can just put it on the inside here and it's kind of padded so it's perfect. This really comes in handy. It is a regular Away carry-on size, but it expands, so if you want more room in your suitcase, you can expand it... ...with this zipper down here. You just unzip this. See? It gives you more room, like that much more room. It's definitely helped me out. I feel like it ends up being just about the same size as their Bigger Carry-on Suitcase which that's the one I usually use, but lately I have been using this expandable canvas Away suitcase. This side, I usually put all my clothes and of course you can put all your little things in here too like I put my medicine, more wet wipes... In here, I have all my Pacsafe travel cubes. I like to use travel cubes to separate all my things and to locate things easier especially when you have a lot of stuff with you, it's better to have organization like this. I also like that it has a handle up here. I recently started using this handle to hang up on hangers in closets so that I could just easily just open it up a little bit and grab my stuff. In here, I put a lot of my toiletries. I like to have a clear toiletry bag so I can easily identify what's in here. I also like to have a hanging makeup case. I've had this for years. It actually broke a little bit up here, so I had to sew it up. I do like that it's three compartments and that I can see everything. I also have another bag of toiletries. This is my jewelry case. Same thing, I can hang it up and same thing, it broke so I had to sew it up. Terrible sewing job. You can easily look at your jewelry. This is the Vessel duffel bag. We were actually gifted this. It is very durable. The only thing about this is that - remember when I was saying the zipper on the other tote was very easy to zip and unzip? This one's a little bit harder. I feel like it takes me some effort to unzip it. But it is very durable. They use very good material. Another reason why the zipper is like this is because it's waterproof. Also, they made this bag so it's structured very well. The reason why I like to use this bag is I like to put all my camera equipment in here or the ones that I'm not going to take out immediately because it'll be much more protected. I feel like the canvas or my other totes, it's not as well structured like this. It doesn't have harder material like this so when I put it in this tote, like if you have more valuables or things that are more fragile, it's better to put it in like a more durable tote like this. There's actually lots and lots of room in here. I can put so much stuff, so it's great. There's another compartment back here where you can put extra things. Here is an internal key attachment so you can find your keys easily if you want to put it in here. Also on the other side, there are two other pockets. This is a another pouch back here or pocket and it's a magnetic closure which I really think is cool. This is the same thing as the Lo & Son's tote where if you don't want to use it as a sleeve, you can zip it up and use it as a pocket or storage. Or if you do want to use it as a sleeve for your suitcase, then you can open it up and it'll go through. Also, like the Lo & Son's canvas tote, on the bottom, you can store your shoes. This is a bigger bag, so you can probably store another pair of shoes. I have two pairs right now, but I'm sure you can store flip flops in here too or something. This one also has vents in the back for your shoes so it doesn't stink up your bag. This is a Pacsafe travel tote that we recently got and I'm in love with this. I've been using it a lot for my camera gear and also my dog gear and Candy's been doing the same. It's very durable like Pacsafe usually makes their travel bags. I usually put my camera gear like my extra lenses. My camera is usually in here but we're using it right now. I usually put it in a protective travel wrap. Something like this. There's actually a lot more that I put in here usually but that's what I'm going to use it for is all my extra camera gear and some dog stuff. I also like this pouch up front that they have where you could put your wallet and stuff. It's also RFID-safe. It's also detachable if you want to take it off but most likely I won't for this trip. This also has a sleeve in the back. It's not structured as well as the other bags that we have, but it's there and it works so if you need that, you can use it. This is also a packable travel tote so it actually folds up into a little square kind of like this size if you're not going to use it. Last but not least, this is my ultimate favorite travel bag and it is the Pacsafe Citysafe CX Anti-Theft Travel Backpack and it is excellent for traveling. Candy and I use this all the time; almost daily whenever we go somewhere. They have the suitcase sleeve. We also love the side pockets where we could put our water in here so that it doesn't make the contents inside of our bag wet. The front pouch actually fits a lot as well. I can put a whole bunch more things but I put like napkins, sanitizer, wet wipes, cables, gum... I mean you name it. I put a lot of stuff up here. The reason why I love this bag the most too is because it fits my 15 inch laptop. It's a little snug, so if you put a lot of stuff, it kind of gets hard to close but if you don't fill it up over here, your laptop will fit just fine and it has a padded sleeve which is great. It also has the RFID- safe pouch and I put my passport in here so that my information doesn't get stolen and some other things like credit cards and such so I put like my wallet with my credit cards in here. I can also put in my iPad, some batteries for my cameras and everything and then this is the pouch with all my other goods like chapstick and stuff. Oh, sunglasses case... So yeah, it fits a good amount of stuff. Okay, so that is all my favorite travel luggage that I take with me on my road trips. Now it's my turn to show you what I take on my road trips and it's pretty similar to Crystal's. We kind of copy off each other or one of us buys something and then we start liking each other's stuff. I just wanted to show you the little sleeve here and this is the suitcase that I have been using recently. I haven't been cross country yet. Well, I have in the past but not with Crystal and I haven't recently but we have been making a ton of weekend getaway road trips here within California. The Pacsafe suitcase that I have been using on our weekend getaway road trips is this one and it is the hard case; whereas Crystal has been using the soft case. This one is a little bit different as far as the way it opens. There is no zipper; it is these little buttons here. The great thing about these Away suitcases is the... charger here. I always use this because I'm always uploading stories on Instagram or using my phone a lot and I run out of batteries a lot so this comes in super handy whenever I need that extra charge. The only difference with this one is that Crystal's actually has a zipper here; whereas this one actually clips right here. The other side is the same where it has these little buckles right here. While we were on our weekend getaway road trips, I found myself carrying coats and dresses that I would just kind of toss in the back of the car because I didn't really want to get them wrinkled so when I went on Away's website recently, I saw that they had this accessory, which I thought was great to add to my collection of Away luggage. It doesn't come with the suitcase, so this is a separate accessory that you purchase and I think it's well worth it. What's great about it is it has an attachment here so you can easily attach it to your suitcase and once you get to your hotel, you can easily remove it and it's got a handle here but you can also hang it in your closet like this. What I love about this is I can easily store or hang my own hangers in here and there's my dress and I can put like a jacket or if you're a male, your suits and it fits three different hangers. I like that you can keep everything organized and flat and it won't get as wrinkled as if you just kind of like threw it in your suitcase and what's also great about this is it has side pockets. If you're a male, you can put neckties in here. If you're a female - I'll probably - some of my pants that I don't want wrinkled has straps, so I'll probably put the straps in here. It easily hooks on here and then I can fold it up like this. Oops. Put that in there. That's how easy it is and, like I said, if you want to just carry it to your car, it's got handles like this. Oh yeah ,and it's got velcro here. You can even carry it separately if you wanted to. Very, very nice accessory. I've been using the smaller carry-on suitcase for our weekend road trips, but since I'll be going cross-country, it'll be almost a 12-day road trip. I don't think that suitcase will be big enough to fit everything I want to bring with me, so I'm going to bring my bigger one and this one is the Medium Away suitcase. I purchased this sometime last year and I've already used it on several trips. It came in super handy when I went to Amsterdam. We were going from Amsterdam to Bruges and we were taking the trains and this worked out perfectly for that trip. The only thing that's different about the larger suitcases is that it does not have the battery pack. This is my toiletry bag and this actually matches Crystal's duffel bag. It's from Vessel and I love that it's durable and, again, they use the zipper that is waterproof. I like having toiletry bags that I can hang up because sometimes you go in hotels and there is no counter space I like that there's zippers because anything that's just open - if you're hanging it up - it tends to fall out. There's a mesh part up here that I like. It also has compartments up here where you can separate items like your makeup brushes or whatever you want to put up there. This has been my go-to toiletry bag. It might be kind of weird, but I actually carry two toiletry bags and this one's a little different. The reason why I like to carry two separate ones is because I like to keep one bag for my contact lenses and stuff that has more liquids. So that's what I use this for - my contacts, my contact case... I usually have my contact lens solution in here. Also, when I'm flying, which I haven't been doing recently, but when I do fly and I want to carry things on with me, this is great because this is carry-on approved and it's actually pretty big. Also, this zipper is very durable. I've had past bags where the zipper would break and I'd have to keep changing bags but this has lasted me for two years now. I got this bag on Amazon about three years ago and I didn't think I would use it and love it as much as I do but this is an organizer for all of my chargers and wires. I hate clutter and I hate having to shuffle through my luggage looking for my iPhone charger or my camera charger or whatever it is... I just want things organized and this is perfect to keep my things organized. I love it. I put all my chargers here because I have a charger for my phone, charger for my battery - the one for the Away suitcase, a charger for my external hard drive. I love that I can keep it all organized here. I have my camera charger here. That's the battery for my camera. I even keep the headlamp in here. Sometimes we go on trips where we need the headlamp like our Yosemite trip. Love, love, love, this bag and how it keeps everything super organized. I'm also huge on organizing my jewelry. I used to have a larger jewelry case, but recently I have kind of downsized the amount of jewelry I take on my trips with me and I found this one and I thought this was so cute. It's nice and compact. I love the boho design to it. It's leather, so it's very durable. This is how it looks like inside. I don't have anything much in it right now, but this is where I usually put my rings I put my earrings here and this is where you put the necklaces so they don't get all tangled up. This is my last bag. It doesn't look like a bag but it is. It's got several compartments and this has been a recent purchase. I've only had it for a few weeks now and I've been using it a lot. We actually just took it to Mammoth Lakes when we went there. It's come in handy on road trips because one thing on road trips is you're going to take a lot of bathroom breaks, right? So I have it on me and if I'm walking into the convenience store to use the restroom at the gas station and I forget my face mask, I'm like, Oh, I didn't forget it. I actually had it in here. I keep my face mask in this top compartment. I've also kept in this compartment chapstick, hand sanitizer... I took those out since I'm not traveling right now. I also use this at home and I use this when I walk my dog and right now I have a poop bag in here. This is also an iPhone carrier so my iPhone is attached to this around my shoulders -- cross body. It's so convenient and you would think that's all there is to it, but no. You turn it around there's also a little compartment here and what I've been keeping in here is some money. Hahaha. I don't want it to be too bulky, so I don't really put a whole lot of stuff in there. This has been a really convenient bag slash phone case and if you don't know Bandolier, it is one of our favorite phone cases and right back here, I can put my credit cards and stuff. I use this at home, on my travels, road tripping, wherever. So that is all of our favorite travel luggage right now. I hope this helps you out in your road trips or any travel that you do in the future. Like we said, we really stand by these. It is our absolute favorite products and it really comes in handy on our road trips. If you liked this video, give it a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe to our channel. Until next time. Bye!
