BILL: Everywhere you go in Cretacia, dinosaurs are swishing, squishing, slashing or flashing their tails. MAZU: But what's the true purpose of a dinosaur's tail? What's it really used for? TINY: We sent Rocky into the field with a big ol' Giganto Tail to find out. BILL: Once we could get him out of the den. Introducing my newest invention: the Giganto... (Clears throat) I said, the Gigant... (Panting) A little help? (Groaning) MAZU: One scientific theory is that big dinosaurs like Gigantosaurus used their tails as a counterweight. TINY: Yeah, if you had a head as big as Giganto's, you'd need something hefty at the other end to balance. BILL: Let's see how Rocky did using his new tail. - Agh! - Oh! BILL: Um...not so good. TINY: For any of us. MAZU: Another theory is that speedy dinosaurs like velociraptors used their tails to help them quickly change direction while running. TINY: Could Rocky use his new tail like this? Here goes! Whoa-oh-oh! BILL: Well, he sure changed direction a lot. MAZU: Then Rocky tried using his tail for protection, like us ankylosaurs do. BILL: Let's roll the videotape to see how well Rocky defended Rugo from the raptors. TINY: Poor Rocky. BILL: Poor Rugo. MAZU: Fortunately, there was only one theory left to test: that leaf-eating sauropods could use their tails for leverage to reach up even higher into trees. BILL: For this one, Rocky doesn't have to move. He just has to sit! TINY: Could he do it? Whoa-oh-oh-ah! MAZU: As far as tail experiments go, it was not looking good out there for Rocky today. ROCKY: But then I found my groove... For hitting home runs! TINY: Wow, look at it go! ROCKY: And I can't think of a better use for a tail than that!
