today in this tutorial i'm going to show you how you can use your ipad

as a second display or an additional display in

windows 10 for free. So let's get started

The application that i'm going to use in this video is called spacedesk server

and there's different reasons why i use spacedesk.

Today in this tutorial i'm going to show you how to download

install and set up spacedesk server so that you can use your ipad as external

monitor, external display or use it as an additional

monitor if you're looking for a much more productive setup without

investing in another pair monitor. I've used dual pro

and duet air to connect my ipad pro to my laptop which is running windows 10

home edition before. And I've got to say that for the price

you pay, you don't really get the same value as a

customer when you use duet pro and duet air

which are premium apps which you can use to connect your ipad as a external

monitor or a wireless external monitor.

There's different things you can do with duo pro but the main reason why

anyone gets a duet pro and duet air is to connect the ipad as

a external monitors but more on that later why i do not use duet pro. f

For now i'm going to show you how to download spacedesk,

where to download spacedesk from and how to set it up so that you can you can use

your ipad as a secondary monitor. First,

let's go to spacedesk.net and click on download. This works for

your ios devices as well but i'm going to demonstrate on how to use this on

windows 10 and an ipad. So i'm going to go and

download now. I'm going to select windows 10 64 bit

you've got to make sure you have the correct version for your

windows, i have windows 10 64-bit so i'm going to download windows 10

64 bit. It's only about 5 megabits.

So I'm gonna click on it, click on next, accept the terms

agreement, install, next um it says to add an exception to the

windows file for this space desk you can select it or you can exclude it

later but i'm just going to leave it. Click on

install YES!

and installation has been completed i'm going to click on finish.

so now you won't see the spacedesk app anywhere. so what you're going to do is

search for spacedesk server or just spacedesk.

and you will see the spacedesk server app click on it

and as you can see the computer that's your computer name.

and status is on and connection zero so that's your server has been set up

so the next thing you need to do is you gotta go and download spacedesk

on your iPad so just go to app store

search for spacedesk so once spacedesk is downloaded on your

ipad, open spacedesk. You gotta make sure that

your computer and your ipad are connected on the same

wi-fi so that your ipad will pick up your

spacedesk server. So as you can see it's showing me

the connection so i'm gonna tapap on it and

so you will hear a chime and now you can see the iPad has been

connected as a secondary display for my windows 10

setup. so what i can do now is i can go and

change the settings on my computer so you can see there's

two displays number one is my main monitor and number two is my

ipad pro. so what i can do is i can select my

display number two and as you can see i can select a higher resolution. So if i

select that,

keep changes and as you can i can set up any way i want and click on apply

and on the ipad you can see that it's very

tiny what i'm going to do now is change it to about 175 percent so that

would be easier for me to see what's on the ipad

screen because it's only an ipad 11 inch version. Now going back to why i

don't use um do it pro or do it air is the first

thing is a price. um i paid 14.99 AUD

to download or install duetpro which gave me an option to connect my

ipad to the windows 10 setup with a usb cable. But the problem was the

display wasn't very good, the quality of the resolution

was very bad so after that what happens is your ipad

does not charge from a laptop. So every time i used to

use my ipad as a secondary monitor from my computer

then it would run out of charge. So

now i had to find another way to do it wirelessly so

duet air was another option so i paid the 29.49 per year uh it was just a

trial version so after using it for like few weeks or

one and a half weeks i uninstalled it and i canceled my trial

membership because it was very very bad. They promise you a 60 fps

display but i never got that so after searching for some

time i came across spacedesk and i've been using spacedesk

since then and it's fantastic. I can use it while i'm charging my

ipad and it's very high quality so i hope this video helped you and how to
