  • exhausted.

  • Yeah.

  • Mhm.

  • Yeah.

  • Moving abroad isn't easy.

  • It takes a lot of getting used to a lot of overcoming fears and uncertainty and a lot of courage and strength.

  • But without fear.

  • There's no courage and without courage we can't break our limits.

  • When I moved abroad.

  • I thought I knew everything about living in another country.

  • I mean I studied abroad twice.

  • That's enough, isn't it?

  • Okay I gotta go now.

  • Bye bye.

  • But then I moved and I had no idea how complicated it really was to permanently live there.

  • I forgot to take in the beauty of where I was living because I was so focused on the complicated nous of every situation.

  • Some people have zero issues.

  • I'm not going to lie.

  • There are people out there that can just transition immediately.

  • It's very easy for them.

  • But I was not one of them and there's no telling that you're one of them either.

  • Yeah.

  • Mhm.

  • Mhm.

  • I lived in a Hirosaki city.

  • Al Maury was my first permanent year in Japan.

  • It was beautiful but isolating similar but different.

  • My reactions to problems became impulsive and panicked and I surrounded myself with people who complained about Japan and issues.

  • They seemed to cultivate each and every day of their lives living in this country.

  • And soon enough I became that person too.

  • I became the type of person that saw Japan through the eyes of others instead of my own good morning everybody.

  • So it is the start of golden week, saturday, sunday, monday, Tuesday Wednesday and then I think thursday and friday is not golden week.

  • So it's almost a week, golden week.

  • So do g doesn't have work for the next four or five days, which is awesome.

  • And so today or this week we're just gonna, you know, do our work and do our thing.

  • But right now I'm going to be doing a mastermind call with some of my business buddies.

  • So we're three girls that are trying to impact other people's lives in so many different ways.

  • I'm gonna help on that call and then We're gonna head out.

  • All right, I got it.

  • Hey guys.

  • Yeah, it's like fun and simple, but it's pretty and it's like I'm you mail and then they get the freebie in the email.

  • So it's awesome.

  • It is 12 PM and Yuji is eating eggs and sausage and breakfast and he hasn't even gotten dressed yet.

  • Okay.

  • I, I'm cooking tacos because that's all I know how to cook in quarantine.

  • Golden week is a week of holidays for Japan.

  • People have often.

  • Now everybody's going to go and travel and do stuff even though there's a virus guy.

  • So this is going to be exciting.

  • Yeah.

  • Let me give you some tips.

  • The secret to staying positive in any situation.

  • Lots of little houses old style, right?

  • Q you have to remember that you are your own person, nothing anybody says negatively should be an energy that you allow whenever I encountered a negative situation or something negative, someone said, I visualized a sort of barrier to keep me protected from whatever they're saying.

  • So it doesn't affect my energies as well.

  • This is great you guys, it looks so I hope it's a baseball mitt in the baseball, Oh my gosh, look at this.

  • It's so cute.

  • It looks so real.

  • Nourishing your body is so important abroad.

  • I can't stress it enough.

  • Start by cooking small, simple kneels before becoming overwhelmed with all the recipes and ingredients.

  • It takes time to adjust to a new way of eating or shopping.

  • When I moved to Japan, I thought that I knew about supermarkets, but I didn't quite so much.

  • I feel like when I was studying abroad I had a lot of help, but when I moved permanently to a new country, I had to do things on my own and I knew nothing about ingredients and you know, recipes, I needed to learn how to cook long term and like I remember I started out cooking really simple meals and some of them were very western style, but I was really eager to learn how to cook japanese meal.

  • So I would look up some recipes that were super simple like that had five ingredient.

  • I would look at pictures and try to find them in the supermarket.

  • I think I still have my pictures from when I first moved to Japan, I still have pictures of the food that I cooked and it wasn't like the most beautiful stuff that I've ever made.

  • But I think I'll share some of the pictures here right out.

  • These photos were taken during my 1st and 2nd year of living in Japan and they don't look too amazing but I found a way anyway to make something good and healthy for my body.

  • I tried this once in a video.

  • Yeah, he was so no, it was gross.

  • Yeah.

  • Even japanese they have but cookies, what more could you ask for?

  • Its but cookies but shaped cookies you guys But she took american marshmallows.

  • What's the actual huh?

  • This one's good actually.

  • Yeah, this is big.

  • So good to have laid bare.

  • Yeah, I mean I love something.

  • I kind of want some yeah, these are really popular in Japan with America.

  • What have we done?

  • It looks like you're ready to stay home.

  • Be like because I think he's not one Youtuber novita in Japan or something.

  • It used to be fine.

  • My love in Japan.

  • Um, he made a very good sound video saying why you pretty gay marriage shouldn't be legal.

  • Many of us have fantasized about moving abroad and expect an adventure and escape.

  • Unfortunately I felt that same way I'm editing this video right now and I just really want to time in and say that I hate to break it to you, but you will be disappointed if you have high expectations on what it means to live abroad.

  • You have to be realistic and you have to be open to catastrophe.

  • It's going to happen, embrace the difficult time, observe the negative thoughts that are going through your head, sit with them and instead of saying like what was me, oh my God, I hate this.

  • I hate Japan.

  • Maybe you have a really crappy job and they're treating you really poorly and you just hate everything you hate life.

  • You wish your experiences better.

  • Instead of grasping those thoughts and hang onto them.

  • The best thing that you can do is think, what can I learn from this experience, What can I control?

  • Right now that is going to serve me because that's something that I didn't do until later.

  • I was just so caught up in the negative thoughts.

  • I was so caught up in my problems that I was continuously having in Japan and I didn't act on it accordingly and I wish that I had done that eventually.

  • I did have a really bad job back when I was in Nagoya and you know the jet program didn't work out for me.

  • But instead of like sitting there being stressed about it and giving up, I decided that it is in my control.

  • I can't find a new job.

  • I can change my reality, Find a lesson within each difficulty while you're living abroad or any point in your life, then you can change your reality.

  • Your actions are what changes your reality?

  • Mostly water.

  • Do you want me to work?

  • Just so beautiful.

  • That's pretty.

  • Yeah.

  • Oh nice.

  • Mhm.

  • Okay, so we're at a park nearby.

  • I've been looking for a place to just enjoy and relax and this is the best part we've been to in a while but there's still a lot of people meeting up with friends and not social distancing and it's fine with family though.

  • But yeah, so pretty.

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • Be kind towards yourself and grow in the book.

  • Geeky guy.

  • The japanese secret to a long and happy life by Hector Garcia.

  • The japanese believed to live the longest life.

  • We need to have a high degree of awareness.

  • Look, there's a path so huge with her.

  • Yeah scott.

  • Yeah, A japanese psychiatrist.

  • Shoma morita states that people need to obtain something called r ooga mama.

  • Aruba mama is the acceptance of life as it is while living abroad.

  • I was always in the state of oh well when I get a new job, I'll be happier.

  • Oh when I learn the train system and stop getting lost all the time.

  • I'll be happy when I can speak japanese better.

  • I'll be happy living here.

  • I was always in that state and it's probably the same for you wherever you are in the world.

  • Yeah.

  • Humans live in a state of endless dissatisfaction.

  • We end up missing opportunities to experience happiness in front of us in that moment when we continuously think that if we fix something or fix what's wrong currently, we will be satisfied.

  • Come on into, I'm crying because I love this country so much and I love this man so much So beautiful here.

  • Alright.

  • Oh he's so cute.

  • Mm There's a couple of them.

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • Be kind to yourself.

  • Moving abroad equals immense change and that can be draining in itself.

  • Listen to your body if you're mentally drained or exhausted, do something mindless, that's creative or calming Only after you sat with your feelings and really assessed what's going on with yourself.

  • I like to color in my coloring books.

  • It just gives me a sense of peace when I'm just mindlessly filling in the lines, achieve a balanced lifestyle by becoming aware of how we're feeling and answering that call within ourselves.

  • Don't put pressure on yourself to adapt quickly and make yourself feel bad about not doing something correctly in this country or understanding a situation.

  • Be sensitive towards your growth here.

  • Uh huh.

  • Mhm Yeah.

  • What?

  • Yeah, you gotta use the footage no.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Yeah.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Mhm One more time.

  • Uh huh.

  • No.

  • Have you?

  • Yes, a big one.

  • Whoa it's right, there.

  • There you go dude, he's never done bubbles before.

  • Okay.

  • Is it really your first time?

  • No it's not.

  • Yeah, it's my first time.

  • We don't do this.

  • What the heck Apparently that you do the kids by bubbles.

  • You live under a rock?

  • No, is this your first time for real?

  • Yeah I am I witnessing your first time with bubbles with the way my virginity you spin around.

  • Ready?

  • Yeah.

  • Thank you.

  • Okay.

  • Oh yeah, so small.

  • Yeah.

  • Uh huh.

  • To India it is the end of Golden week.

  • Golden week ended a couple of days ago.

  • But in Japan some people have the whole week off.

  • So the rest of the other days I just did some editing.

  • It's such a nice day today.

  • Sure I faced many challenges during my life here.

  • The best way to think about life is that it's similar to a video game.

  • We face challenges level up and after each battle we gain something along the way.

  • That's something in my mind is courage.

  • The more courage you collect, the more experience you earn.

  • We take 100% responsibility with how we do or approach things.

  • We can change our lives just by taking action despite any setbacks it takes practice.

  • It's not going to happen overnight.

  • I hope that makes some sort of nerdy sense.

  • There's many ways to keep the negative feelings of living abroad at bay.

  • But if there's anything you get out of this video, it's to enjoy the present moment because life is fleeting.
