I'm Jessica matlin, the video director of harper's bazaar and I am taking you to bed with me.

Well, to my bedtime routine.

Mm Yeah, okay, we are going to embark on really a seven step process, seven steps.

I don't think it's that bad for a beauty director.

I think you know, it could go into the 12 steps if you wanted to with the essences and the scrubs and masks and all that.

I've really pared down as the years have gone on, especially once I had a baby, I was lucky if I got to brush my teeth and wash my face, maybe a shower.

So I've gotten really good at a speed routine.

I think I'm kind of the last one to bed now, I go into the bathroom and it's like the finish line and really, I just kind of listen to maybe like a bit of a podcast that makes me laugh if I think I'm going to linger in the bathroom for a while if I got in there in time.

Alberta candle, I love this one, kobo candles.

They make great candles with a big sent through a little candle, nerd lingo, how much you can smell the scent from how far it is.

So where shall we begin?

Cleansers are my favorite.

I really love kind of a cold cream cleanser and I have to tell you this cleanser is probably one of my favorite things that cross my desk in years in the cleanser department.

Maybe just one of my favorite products will stop it is by the brand column.

I'm are I really don't want to mess up this brand new, a Moravian psa.

It is so gorgeous.

I mean, this is like the texture of a butter at the nicest restaurant on earth massage ahead and I'm gonna worry you guys, it is luxury products.

So it's big bucks what it feels like it.

And that's the thing with luxury products.

I really shocked all across the spectrum.

I love products That are $5.

I look, products that are $50.

My first experience of luxury products was, I wasn't an active consumer of them when I was younger, but I used to go with my mom to, you know, Nordstrom Macy's, my gosh, I'm really gonna blow your mind a nx if anyone else remembers that one and my mom would give me the little samples of either with the Estee lauder night creams or clinic night creams.

I was like, okay, this field like something special and I still get that feeling when I have, when I stumble upon a product like this.

Okay, I'm gonna go rinse this off.

Okay.

That was truly a spectacular cleanser because I feel like I don't even need moisturizer.

I could just hop into bed and feel fine.

My skin was plump, moisturized, awesome.

But I'm not going to just jump into bed.

I've got a few more things.

I want to do.

That kind of treat product.

It's not something that we can all run and do and go get, but whatever feels like a treat for you I think is, you know, that's why I got into beauty.

It's that feeling of, I'm going to do something special for myself.

So then I move on to my serum, this is the Carolina.

I know that I'm not french and I probably didn't say that as beautifully as a french person.

Um, but I'll never forget when I said Girl lane when I was first and beauty and nearly got left across a room so hard that I will never say that ever again.

How beautiful is this?

This is like out of if you've ever seen the movie, one of my faves, death becomes her with the incredible goldy horn Bruce Willis, Isabella Rossellini icon, Meryl Streep.

She loved beauty and you love to laugh.

This reminds me of something that should be in that movie.

I'd like to think that that has the secret to youth in it.

It does not have the secret to my acne.

So we're gonna get to that in a second eye cream.

Everyone thinks an eye cream is going to make their eyes circles go away.

Their under eye bags go away.

It's not going to do all that.

It's going to really hydrate your eyes.

I put this on and I think it just kind of like makes it feel a little bit tighter and gives it just a little bit of like luminosity.

So we did face wash, we did serum.

We did I queen.

Now I'm going to add moisturizer idea of laser treatment two weeks ago called Fraxel.

Fraxel is a very serious laser treatment.

I don't do a lot of derm treatments at all.

I do stuff once a year and then I'm out maybe twice.

Um Fraxel I do once a year.

It really helps with them dark spots, discoloration plumps up your college.

But I also on three weeks I was using this.

I love this.

I used it before too.

But I really went to town.

As you can see there's no fancy actives.

It's not going to like rock your world in terms of like anti aging.

It doesn't have any crazy claims that it's going to turn up the clock, but it doesn't make my skin feel really nice.

Absolutely.

Oh, I should also be doing this, but I just want to keep it clean for you guys from the hairlines.

The bus line is where we need to be applying product because the skin around here very thin.

It's going to age faster than up here.

But I don't want to have any sexual issues.

You may have noticed I've got too big, but he's up here.

I have some adult acne right now.

I'm talking to my dermatologist about it.

We're coming up with some solutions.

But in the meantime, I've been using my Neutrogena rapid clear benzoyl peroxide.

You know, it's like I noticed one, I got stressed out and then the more stressed I get, the more they come to play.

So I do find that sometimes good old BP Benzoyl peroxide from Neutrogena can nip it in the bud if you get it right on time.

But acne is a puzzle.

I would never claim to say that I have the silver bullet to end it all.

If that wasn't sexy enough.

Let's talk teeth.

Um Love Michael will be glide pro health, Deep clean floss.

There is no other brand I will mess with.

This doesn't shred.

It's nice and flat.

I floss almost every night with my oral B.

Then I'm doing Invisalign I think I'm over a year now.

I don't know, but because it's such a commitment and because your teeth need to be clean your radius retainers all day, it's you know, I get funny about it.

I like to keep them nice and clean and while I'm doing my skincare, I'm letting them soak disease fancy crystals.

They're like denture cleaner.

But it's for your fancy retainers.

Then let's talk about hair.

My skin is done basically.

Up here.

We're gonna get to the body in a second, jennifer Aniston did a hairline lola V is her hairline.

I love that.

She didn't come out with a big old brand.

It was very edited.

It's all about this.

De tangle er slanguage I haven't used a de tangle er since johnson and johnson.

No more tangles, I can remember the bottle and I mean, I know there are there de tangling his butt, shaking my horror that just come out and be like, yeah, I'm doing a de tangle er it's a great product.

If no silicones are important to you, this doesn't have silicones, but it has a great slip.

I have very long hair, it gets knotted like, like I was like a little girl and when you go through those knots, you get breakage and then it looks like, you know, an old room at the bottom and I got this probably a month ago and I'm almost done.

And for a beauty editor to like believes through a product that means something.

And then finally body lotion, I have to remind myself to put on body lotion because it's like a whole ordeal by this point, I just want to get in bed.

But You know, we pay so much attention to how much, you know, everything up here, we've got 45 products were up here, maybe a tub of body lotion, right?

This age is too and we want this to feel nice to, there are two products that I love.

one Beekman, 1802 Pure Goat milk, body cream.

A masseuse actually taught me about this.

This is really nice, very like it's thick, but not too thick.

And then another one, if you want to think a little bit more dramatic, one of my favorite launches of the year and that's big is this La Perla, how gorgeous is the top looks like it's carved.

This has a scent that really could just double as your fragrance, so you can wear it in the morning if you want to, but at night it's very, very sexy.

Um it has a very musky scent, like a white musk.

The end, it's beautiful.

It's just, it's one of my favorites, so, and when we started and we ended with two of my favorite launches of the entire year and probably like probably longer than that, they're just gorgeous.

So anyway, I'm off to bed.

I'm exhausted.
