Yeah great people visit, wow.
So here we are at Kentucky fried chicken or KFC in Tokyo and they have this really unique burger that just came out.
I'm gonna introduce it to you.
I thought it was just something special because today is um like workers thank thankful for working day.
I'm not sure what the day is called but it's a holiday in japan which I guess would be considered thanksgiving on christmas and thanksgiving people typically come to Kentucky fried chicken.
So check this out here.
So this I just got this as um I'm not as a set but this is a a chicken filet.
Minchey concert burger or sandwich I guess you call it a sandwich right?
And of course it's it's finger licking.
Good.
I'm not gonna look at my fingers that's not not in this age and Kentucky kata sandaled shoe.
I'm gonna open this up.
Oh I already did.
Um let the steam out.
This is a surprise.
Um so if we can get to I don't know like 300 likes, I will open this up.
So it's up to you community and I get a water because I'm gonna die it.
Alright let's let's check this out here.
How do you how do you even open this out?
All right, hold on dear.
Don't I got two hands now.
Yes.
Oh that's kind of neat.
Mhm.
All right well so this you can see the inside of the burger.
It's prayer sandwich.
I don't know it's a sandwich or burger, wow.
So what's inside of here is um I guess it's like a chicken deep fried chicken patty.
I'm not sure the Kentucky's um 11 herbs and spices I guess.
And that's a Minchey katsu which is very japanese, it's like minced beef or pork in a meatball and then battered and deep fried.
And I guess there's all, there is a sauce on there, It looks like a honey mustard or something.
That's gonna be interesting to figure out what they did there.
There's a chicken patty and it's on a piece of lettuce.
There's more sauce underneath there.
Oh this is gonna be interesting.
I don't eat a lot of fast food, but this was just curious enough.
This is just interesting enough to pique my curiosity.
Let's take it out of the box here and I'm gonna cut it in half because I don't think I can eat the whole thing for that.
Welcome to japanese.
Thanksgiving it.
All right, very cool.
Alright, let's cut this now in half.
I brought my own victoria.
Next knife here, you can cut this in half.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah.
Mhm.
Okay, put this back in the wrapper.
Right.
All right, here we go.
No.
Mhm, wow.
You know what that just looks like that doesn't look like Minchey katsu.
The cross section looks just like another piece of pork or something.
Right?
I guess it's not mention katsu?
I don't know.
What do you guys think on the internet.
Does that look like men she contact you?
Mhm.
It's a pretty cross section.
There's the chicken down the bottom with the the herbs and spices with that deep fried crunch.
Yeah.
I don't know.
We're just gonna have to give it a try.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's only one way to find out.
Here.
We go and put this down here.
Yeah.
Yeah, It's Transit.
Okay.
Mhm.
Mhm.
Sure.
Yeah.
Yes.
Yeah.
I mean by that plane problem mm.
On the basis.
Mhm.
Yeah, I'm gonna say no.
I mean it's not bad.
No.
Yeah.
Mhm.
The bun is too dry.
Yeah, It tastes like a cheap bum.
Not enough vegetables, chickens.
Okay.
But the men, she cuts, it just tastes like it's a process piece of meat.
Yeah, that's why I cut it in half.
I wasn't sure I would want to eat the whole thing.
Just I think, I mean it's kind of a mess now, particularly.
Just take a look here.
Yeah.
Just that mangy katsu on the top there.
It just doesn't look good enough and it looks as good as it tastes, it tastes as good as it looks, which is not good at all.
Um It's a hard pass for me.
I'm glad that I only tried half of it.
This is something to put to the side.
Hey, Irvin's here.
Thank you Irvin for the experiment.
And Michael Sissano.
I didn't see a dessert on your tray.
Well, Michael, my friend.
That's where this comes in to try to get rid of this awful flavor.
Yeah.
It's not awful by the way.
It's just, I think, I think they they didn't really put a lot of thought into this Minchey katsu burger.
So we're gonna put this aside.
Mhm.
Michael.
I thought ahead.
I was hoping to be here too.
And you are, this is the top secret.
Thanks for clicking the like button guys.
Oh, it's actually purple.
I don't know if you can see the color.
This is a sweet potato pie and we all like yams during thanksgiving.
So um yeah, it's just sweet potato goodness.
Okay.
Mhm.
That is weird.
Now you can see the purple color and there's a sweet potato in there.
No sweet potato in japan.
The satsuma Imo one of the varieties is purple down there in Kagoshima.
I see a lot of them there, but you can find this purple potatoes is about everywhere.
It looks like this.
It's purple on the outside and nice and yellow on the inside.
Yes.
Let's give this a try.
Brown daddy is in on the brown dani is in on this too.
Mm hmm.
Yeah.
Yes, you didn't give us right.
Yeah, this is good.
Yeah, this is good flaky pastry.
Like you can speak almost like a result sweet potato sweet, not a really sweet.
You can taste some of the naturalness of the potato the problem, buttery.
Yeah, I can get behind this one.
Mm hmm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Mhm.
Yeah.
Look at that mess.
So sweet potato pipe nine out of 10 burger.
Um mm three out of 10.
And that's generous.
Maybe The three is for the chicken.
All right.
This is their christmas christmas um, bucket.
And this is a brochure that was sitting on the table here.
So japan is very famous for having um thanks christmas Meals here and I'm opening up the brochure.
Uh, so you have to order by December 12.
That's pretty early.
Two weeks before thank christmas.
Right.
And if you order before then you get 100 yen discount.
That's how populated is.
They really don't need to give much of a discount.
What?
Sure I believe.
Mm hmm.
Yeah.
Each of them on to the content.
Yeah.
Good.
So you can quickly make a reservation for your christmas chicken by internet.
There you go.
There's a Q.
R.
Code.
If you want to scan that with your iphone, just get your camera and just the camera looks out onto your iphone and automatically opens up the link.
It's pretty cool.
Hey W extra was here urban.
You gotta get that lens, man.
We're just talking about that.
All right, check this out.
Here's, here's what you get to the Contents for your 4000 yen.
You get a chocolate cake.
Look at that.
Some sort of gratin, which is not very christmassy I guess.
And then a bucket of chicken and you get a plate a christmas plate.
All right.
I guess you can collect them every year.
Um, this one, this one I guess the bucket is smaller but you get some other fried goodies.
A chicken tenders.
I guess they call these chicken tenders.
So that's also $40.
So both of them are 4000 yen.
And then this one here um this small christmas christmas meals here in s size which is small.
I guess You're getting the original chicken, the chicken tenders and then some nuggets and that's $28.2,800.
Why they are making a killing just based on marketing from so many years ago.
I had never had any friends that that have admitted that they do this other than like Youtuber saying that they did this because they you know I wanted to do something about Japan's weird christmas and there's also a yoga card.
Your card which is a reservation card so you can check off what you want and just give this to them for the old school.
People remember those in the Sears Roebuck catalogs, you'd have like an order for him in the back.
And then this one is an actual roasted chicken.
Now this is I could get behind this one, it's a premium roast chicken they wrote here for 5900 yen.
About 59 bucks.
Maybe 50 bucks.
The conversion Now the U.
N.
Has gotten a lot weaker.
There's a roast um roasted leg for 1100 yen.
And then a um another kind of roast with cheese inside.
That looks interesting.
I might want to try that one.
That's about 12 bags.
Yeah.
Yeah Ryan.
Okay.
Yeah I remember ordering on the Sears, Roebuck catalogs and stuff would come in 4-6 weeks and then there's some coupons on the back here.
Um This is interesting the sound of the times they due to come in here to get my temperature checked, wash your hands, sanitized wear mask.
Uh huh.
Come alone.
Don't bring your family social distance.
So all these things they want you to do uh when you go to pick up your christmas chicken because there's always a line to do this every single year.
It's crazy.
Okay so.
Mhm.
I'm not gonna eat this anymore, can I?
I'm not even gonna bring you half.
Its that not that good?
Wanted to position.
Mhm.
I gotta be honest here.
Um What?
I don't have it uh Postcard club everybody uh they're available now that's the picture of Matsumoto Castle.
I don't have one now I just sent it which is a shame it's a really good postcard.
It's available on Patreon.
Um They're taking less than a week to arrive.
I guess the U.
S.
Mail is pretty quick.
Um And tomorrow I'm going to the Oki Islands which is in shamanic Prefecture of taking you with me on only in japan go.
I'm going to my friend Dean and we're going to fly tomorrow morning at six a.m. We to get there.
We have to fly via Osaka's Itami Airport.
So we switch planes and then fly to Oki Island And then we get on a ferry.
I'm only there for like 36 hours film a lot mostly live streams and then I'm coming back and this is a um the Japanese parks associate the national parks um asked me to come down if I was interested in Okay island and I'm like yeah give me access and I'm there.
And so Dean and I are going to go there for a couple of days for one night.
Actually when I say a couple of days what's a couple of, it's like 36 hours two days one night and I'm back in the evening early enough I think to give leo a bath His bad times like 6-7 p.
m.
so I always wanted to go to Oki Islands.
It's an island separated from Japan into the sea of Japan.
It's really beautiful.
I don't know what it's like now at this time of year it's not the peak time but it should be really interesting and it's a reason to click that subscribe button and join us For the next 36 hours on an island in Japan.
That's gonna be pretty cool.
I'm editing the next video which is a fireworks inside of the fireworks um making industry the fireworks industry here in Japan.
That video should be released around the same time as I go to Yamanashi.
Uh, there's been a lot of stuff on my plate.
Most of it is like stuff like this that I promised to do Like 6-8 months ago.
But it kept getting pushed off because the state of emergency was here.
Now there's like six people in Tokyo getting coronavirus.
It's, it's very, very low right now.
I'm pretty safe.
But we're still taking precautions.
Um, we have plastic shields here and there.
There's really not a lot of people out and about still.
Uh, but hopefully the situation get along is going to get down to zero.
We'll talk about maybe opening it up to terrorism, but with vaccination rates like 80% here.
It's a pretty good situation in Japan and I'm very proud everybody who went and got vaccinated pretty quickly.
We probably open it up to kids and maybe we'll get close to the 90%.
Pretty crazy.
Right?
Um, yeah.
And you know our buddy Irvin Irvin is down there in another part of the world to taking advantage of the open travel in some countries, uh, urban.
You're making me super jealous with those photos buddy.
I showed it to, can I can I was like, what do you want?

I'm sorry, a chicken or something.
I'm not sure.
But that's really nice of her.
Hard pass hard.
Don't do it.
It's not worth it anyway.
I bet you this is gonna be gone in a week and something new will take its place.
Mcdonald's is killing it right now.
So it comes down to the fast food industries.
Um competition.
Yeah, Mcdonald's right now is on top pretty hard.
They're doing really good.
Um Alright, everybody thanks so much past aka failed.

A lot of processing, half a burger.
I don't know if it was worth it.
I'm gonna wash this trade and help to help them out because so we do in Japan try to leave things cleaner than you found it.
And I certainly found it a lot cleaner chow.
