Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hello everybody Welcome to Tokyo Creative Play. I'm your host Emma and today I'm actually here with most of the T. C. Crew. We do have E. N. T. Man and she already joining at another session. But for today it's just us. Today we're starting our journey of learning Allegory. Allegory is a really cool dance festival thing that happens in cuong every summer and it's so so cool. But I'll tell you more about it later. Today we're going to go and see the event dance with light, Tokyo Cuong our duty plus. And we're going to learn more about the history of the dance and the dance itself and just have a good time and then we'll learn the dance on a later date. Also today's video is sponsored by super dynamic. So thank you so much. Let's dance. Our body is a traditional performing arts with a history of over 400 years originating in Tokushima Prefecture. Tokyo Cuong Award at the festival is held in cuong which is home to many unique shops and facilities and is frequented by people from all over the world. The Tokyo Cuong our ordinary started in 1957 after World War Two when a shopping street Nkong decided to make the most of the streets and to liven up the town. They proposed to perform the surgery which is a dance parade that goes through the streets along with annual summer festivals. There are also workshops and events for the Iowa dot. Let's take a look at what the TC staff had to say about the experience. I really liked it. It was your first time, right? Yeah but you see that several. I'm obsessed. I have a surprise. It's not easy though. It looks like you're just lifting your feet and doing this the whole time. But my brain could not coordinate. This is that it's also bending down. Like you're like squatting. Yeah. I was a kid. I used to go like like 2018 2017 2016. Like I love I always see them like you're so cool like. Yeah it's such a vibe like it's so loud. There's so many teams of people. There's just people that where you're all sweaty and everybody just like yelling and you're like yeah yeah it's so good. I I really really miss it so this is like feeling a hold it will be the first time dressing up and actually trying it. I am so excited. I'm really really excited. I always thought it would be cool if I dedicated the time to do it now. We're doing it. Yeah I'm really good morning everybody welcome back. It is early. We're okay we're just doing some stretches and we're here for our first day of rehearsals for the for the dance. I'm feeling a little bit nervous personally but I'm excited. We're gonna be doing two hours of dancing so. Yeah let's get started with it with the whole TC crew. We're good to go. Yeah this is the faster hustle of six in total. Yeah so I'm a bit nervous. I think my thighs are going to really hurt. It looks like a really thigh intensive dance. So we're gonna read the superstar tubby but I'm not going to show you my feet. Mr Tomizawa and Miss Hayakawa from the Association for the promotion of Tokyo Co NGO or Daddy will teach us how to do the dance and how to prepare for the actual performance. Okay, this is what we're covering in the practice session today. Number one, get the rhythm into your body, number two, movement of the feet, number three. The movement of the hands and number four shouting of the dance. These are the four things we need to learn. Will the T. C. Members be able to keep up with today's practice? Let's find out. Even the unique. Oh yes, strega. So how's your legs? My legs here? It's pain. It's like a super difficult squad kind of situation. I'm used to squatting so my legs are okay but the rhythm I don't understand like I can't, it's just hard to coordinate so hard to get the rhythm like I don't understand it. It's not the rhythm I can write. It's very different from the Yeah, Japanese, unique. Very it's like it kind of for me it feels like dancing off beat, you know what I mean? It's so difficult. I'll get it. I gotta practice but I'll get there. Cameroon. I was nervous to do the voice. Yeah they're like sign to let go. Yeah. But it feels cool. You know, I've always loved because I loved the outdoors and I used to go see it in coins all the time and they're always so cool with like the ladies and everything. So I feel, I feel blessed to do. You know, I feel like with complicated dances, you know, as long as you know, the moves, you can kind of budget a bit. But this, it's like one move and it's very specific and you have to like master and I'm like, I don't know. I don't know if I can do it, but I think you need to be graceful like as well. Like it's kind of like a ballet dancer. Even if you can do the move, you have to have that like posture and, but I'm excited to see improvement. I'm excited to see the starting point in the end. About five more training sessions after this. My legs are going to be like bulk like a cyclist like this size. What do you think? I'm tired? I don't work out a lot. So I'm pretty tired. But this is great. I've always wanted to join like a proper group dance. Uh, our Ceo was amazing. He was like the ideal student. Can you show us one more time. Okay, there we go. Our Ceo. He's amazing. So yeah, we're taking a break and we will see more progress after this. Mm hmm. Oh no. Oh no. How was that? Oh no. My arms man Every day. 5K run has to be done. I think it's really, really, really tougher than you thought. And then I'm small. So maybe you guys think so easy because it's easy to be compact but still it's so hard. My arm is dead and my my leg is dead. It's great. It's good fun. It's harder than it looks because you're constantly like your your your thighs are on fire because you're constantly like that like that. But I got a little secret for you. Want to show you this could be useful for you as well. Sarah behind the camera because you're dancing with us too. Right? So one thing that really helps, This brings me back to a 14 year old and a very aggressive basketball coach. But we used to do this as bad as that sucked. It kind of put me, even though it was 20 years ago, it kind of put me in good stead. A ginger oh, I asked the PSA your job. I'm glad it's not me having to say it. Okay. I think I did that. What does that mean? You definitely more confused than before. I have homework. I have to master this by tomorrow and remember everything just so you can see this is what it is. We all had so muscles after the second day of practice. And we agreed that it was much more difficult than we originally thought today. After reviewing the four points from the first day, we will need to learn the specific movements and formations for the actual performance. The teachers have been telling us to have fun, use a loud voice and to try our best to impress the audience on the day of the performance. But at the moment we're honestly struggling to remember the movements have muscle pain but enjoy it right to height. Mm mhm Okay, subscribe and check the link down below. Alright, so this is day three of our practice today. Come join us on the third day of practice. We actually practiced on our own without the teacher. Now I know it's hard to believe but we're not professionals but if you guys want to see some actual professionals do the dance. There is a video of the Tokyo Cohen Geula dot E dance in the description box. So please check it out. There are many workshops and events related to the dance and Benji. So I hope you guys can visit 21 day and see it for yourselves from the Yeah, that one was the best I can top that water. Now I'm going to order for all your christmas presents, we're gonna get some genuine water. Okay, well we've been practicing really, really hard but actually this is all for an event that if you're in Tokyo you guys can actually come and join us on january 22nd. So please come meet us and it's gonna be in Zhong and yeah, we're gonna be doing a little dance events. You guys can come watch us and meet us and hang out a little bit.
