The DJI Spreading Wings S900 was born out of the desire to distill our most powerful
technology into a lightweight, easy to carry aerial system. It’s your on-the-go flying
platform, perfect for capturing amazing aerial footage while providing unmatched flexibility.
Our main design challenge was almost a paradox: we wanted to reduce size and weight, while
increasing power and usability. To overcome this challenge, we equipped the
S900 with six of our most advanced motors, large 15-inch propellers, and our fastest
response electronic speed controllers. All this gives you the ability to fly with almost
5 kilograms of equipment loaded on to the compact 3.3 kilogram frame.
We were able to make the S900 light by making the arms out of carbon fiber. These new arms
are not only lighter, but also stronger, more stable, and more durable, inspiring confidence
in a product that’s meant to be taken places and used to create.
The arms and propellers fold down, reducing its size for transport. Then simply extend
the arms, lock them into place, and you can be ready to fly in as little as five minutes.
To increase reliability during flight, the S900’s power distribution system was redesigned.
This new system is easy to connect and more efficient. With a 6S 15000mAh battery, you
can fly for up to 15 minutes at a time. We also completely rebuilt the centerboard
to make it more accessible and intuitive. The top board can now be removed, and there
are eight positions reserved for your extra equipment, making installation of your main
controller, iOSD, Lightbridge, and other accessories faster and easier than ever before.
All of these features make flying with the S900 a reliable, enjoyable experience. When
equipped with a Zenmuse gimbal, the retractable landing gear gives you an incredible range
of possible shooting angles and camera movements. The S900 is defined by the ways that you decide
to use it. With its lightweight, durable body and flexibility to be taken anywhere you want
to go, you can use and experience it in ways that push your creative boundaries.
