If you want to cast content
from your phone to your TV,
there are a few different options
depending on what type of phone and TV you have.
We will cover the basic screencasting options
for iPhones and Androids,
plus a bonus tip if you're using a Roku device.
If you have an Apple TV or a smart TV
compatible with AirPlay,
you can stream video from your iPhone.
If the app you are watching content on supports AirPlay,
you will see this icon, which is the Airplay icon.
Press it, then choose your Apple TV
or AirPlay-enabled device.
If you want to mirror your iPhone,
as in show the whole screen on a TV,
first, make sure to swipe down from the top right
to access your control menu.
If on an older phone, swipe up.
Then enable screen mirroring.
Choose the device you want to cast to.
In this example, we are using a Samsung TV.
You may be prompted to enter a passcode to proceed.
Now, you're mirroring your whole screen on your TV.
If you have an Android, casting to a Chromecast is easy.
Check out our video on how to use Chromecast
to learn all about it.
Once you have your Chromecast set up,
you can easily cast content from an app that supports it
by pressing the icon in the top right.
Your phone may also have options
to screencast to Chromecast-enabled devices
by swiping down on the quick-settings panel
and pressing "Screen Cast."
After pressing that button,
you can find and choose your device.
If you own a Roku, you can enable screen mirroring
by going to "Settings,"
then "System,"
then selecting "Screen mirroring."
Choose the permission you want to give the Roku device
when it comes to mirroring.
Now you can follow your normal screen-mirroring process
for your device.
